Perfect al dente strands of toothsome noodles nestled in a spicy tomato and olive oil broth topped with supremely fresh and succulent shrimp, tiny sweet clams in shells so thick they scream high quality, and tender rings of calamari. Went here with my daughter who loves spaghetti more than life itself. Ordered clam pasta for myself (jPasta Vongole) , simple spaghetti marinara for my daughter, and two salads. Service was indifferent at best, the decor is lifeless and when the food arrived it settled itself smack dab in the middle of two stars, mediocre to lousy. (I reserve one star for food that is really outrageously bad. ) My clams were tasteless, rubbery. Pasta tired as if it sat under a heat lamp. My teenage daughter said her pasta was "ok", but she will say that when she glops bottled red sauce on re-heated pasta from the night before for an afternoon snack. Salads were limp and over-dressed. My experience was best summed up by "Meh". I don't understand the 4 and 5 star reviews for this place. You have to really be off your game to serve up food this far from decent. read more

We recently discovered Osteria and were greatly pleased to have such a quality restaurant available in Burien which is sorely lacking in such, with easy parking too. Their menu covers a large number of Italian entree's. The veal chop, with bone, was memorable reminding me of what I had admired from dining at notable Italian restaurants in New York. Their pasta has always been al dente. The wood fired oven blesses their wonderfully baked pizzas with just the right taste and touch. I found the excellent mozarella/tomato/basil salad exquisitely fresh and a tasty treat following my dinner. The wine list has a number of good Italian's including my favorite region of Alba. Service is quick and my water glass was always topped up by the ever attentive waitress. read more

They had a nice wine selection, good ambiance, the food was good, and they served their bread with oil and vinegar (which I vastly prefer to butter). My daughter and I tried Osteria Da Primo's last night for the first time. It was excellent. My daughter is gluten free and they had excellent choices. Carlo was friendly and suggested the Wild Boar Shank. You get a choice of veggie...peas with prosciutto and I had a side of pasta on the side which comes in the same sauce as the entrée. Huge portions. My daughter had pasta with cherry tomatoes (usually pushes them to the side) basil in garlic and oil olive. She ate every single bite including the tomatoes! I gave her some of the boar to try which we both dipped in her leftover garlic sauce. We both wished they had gluten free bread to sop up the sauce. Dessert was also great tiramasu for me and a coconut sorbet with a drizzle of chocolate for her. Can't wait ti go back! read more

Came in, got seated by the chef who was too busy to be polite. Asked a simple question and got treated like a jerk so we left. I'm not going to do you the favor of paying $30 for a pasta dish if you are going to be a depressing/rude host. Obviously from the reviews people like the food here. But to be honest its not even the best Italian food one 152nd street. . Bistro Baffi has fantastic food on 152nd st and 21st. I'll drive up the street 2 minutes for far better service and excellent food. Or you can go to Frankie's literally 4 doors down. They treat everyone like family there and the food is cheaper. Maybe you don't want to have Italian on 152nd street. Go one street over to 153rd and you can eat at Angelo's or Veronas. Bella Luna's, Vinces, heck I'd even eat at Bison Creek before coming here. All these places are within 2 minutes drive of ODP and all of them will be excited to have you as a guest. Too much competition in the area to treat people poorly. I'd give them 1 star but I honestly think had we been welcomed by an actual server we wouldn't have been treated like a burden. read more

We "discovered" Primo a couple years ago. My Italian husband was so happy to find an authentic pizza place in our neighborhood. The food and service are good. Love this place! I was in Seattle with 7 other friends, and the staff went out of their way to make sure they could seat us at the very last minute. The options at this place are great! We were able to accommodate everyone in our party, including the die hard vegans. Let me start by stating that our go to cuisine is usually French or Asian. On the rare occasions I'm craving some good pasta, I'm usually at a loss for where to go. We've been making a concerted effort to eat in the neighborhood whenever possible so we decided to give this small restaurant in Burien a try. I was initially put off by the price of some of the entrees; I think it's just Burien sticker shock. However, after our experience here, we no longer have to wonder about where to go when the pasta craving hits. The waitstaff greeted us immediately and were extremely pleasant. My husband had a difficult time choosing from of all the tempting things on the menu. We settled for deep fried artichokes, pasta with cream sauce and pistachios and gnocchi with red sauce and sausage. The food was presented beautifully and came out in a timely fashion. Portions were the perfect size. Everything was absolutely delicious. In an atmosphere note, it was early on a Friday evening and while the restaurant itself was not busy yet, there were several people in the bar having apps and drinks. Throughout our meal, more people would wander in and head back to the bar and everyone seemed to know one another. It gave the restaurant a very homey, comfortable feel. This was our 2nd time here and I'm sorry that we live so far away or it would be a whole lot more. This is the best of the best! I had the risotto with shrimp, my wife had the gnocchi with sausage and my daughter had the ravioli stuffed with figs and gorgonzola. All were done to perfection, I had had the same dish at a 4 star restaurant in San Francisco a couple of years ago and I had to send it back twice because it was too salty and too done. Here I asked the chef (the owner) if he had tasted my dish before he sent it and he assured me that he had so I asked him if he had found it salty and he said "no" and I said, "Good, because it was done to perfection"! I've been there several times and I always try something different - and I've loved everything I've eaten. The wood fired pizzas are excellent - but my favorite thing is the fried artichoke heart appetizers. I dream about those - they are so good. The owner is always there, always welcoming and friendly, ready to recommend a special or a bottle of wine. The outside of a restaurant isn't the only indicator of what is produced in a kitchen and brought to your table. Nor would I judge the food experience based on what hangs on the walls. I like that this establishment hangs original art, and isn't trying to update the facade when styles/tastes shift. It tells me: this place is about the food. That being said... The service was prompt, Carlo came out from behind the line to greet and seat and tell us about the specials. Lindsay came by after we had time to peruse our menus. The order- The bread was fresh, as was the olio/balsamico dish. The fig/proscutto/gorgonzola appetizer special was stellar. The wine list was good, ordered a nice 2009 Super Tuscan to go with the veal and lamb chops, and osso buco. The Veal Chops were bathed in a light Marsala, and came as a double-thick slab of tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture, seasoned to perfection. The Osso Buco was delicious: the meat was very tender, falling away under my utensils the way it should, right into a rich and flavorful sauce. My wife had the Lamb with melanzane (eggplant): amazing herbs and seasoning on that eggplant. Our children ate pasta, and can highly recommend the mushroom ravioli, as these are hand made, with just the right balance of earthy mushroom and cheese to fill these little pillows of wonder. Lastly, get the tiramisu with the sparkling rosso- sublime summer pairing. Eat here when you want incredible food, aren't in a hurry, and have well-behaved kids.
