The experience is about the food but what has me returning are the servers and the manager Rob. Rob sets the attitude of the restaurant. I have never met a more friendly welcoming manager. So we were at Harkins Theatre with our kids. Our movie ended an hour before theirs. We decided to go over to get food. It took about five minutes to get seated, and then once we were sat after 15 minutes of everyone ignoring us and no one coming to our table, we decided to get up and leave. I went to Osteria Mia a few months ago and had the Diavolo pizza and thought it was excellent. Then I traveled to numerous cities in Italy over the summer and ordered the same type of pizza a few times. I just visited Osteria Mia again and had the Diavolo again and I can say that it matches what I had in Europe. In addition, I split the "build your own"pasta with basil pesto with my wife and it too matched what I had in Europe. I highly recommend this restaurant. My wife and I went here for a nice dinner. We were greeted by the front desk with "Our kitchen closes in 30 minutes" before asking if we wanted to dine there. It was 6:45pm and they close at 8:00pm. We agreed to be seated, and the waitress brought water immediately at that point I ordered a bottle of wine. After 20 minutes the waitress returned and said, "I had to fix someone's bill and have forgotten what wine you wanted". We told her the wine and said let us order our dinner now, as it was already 7:10pm so we don't hold you up from closing. We ordered a pizza instead of something nice thinking it would be quicker for them. The pizza came at 20 min. to 8:00pm. We ate as quickly as possible and during that time several people stared over at us like I hope they hurry because we want to close at 8pm. At 7:55 while I was taking a bite of pizza a young woman arrived and said can I start clearing some of the items from your table? Had a great meal at Osteria Mia!!! I showed up in a grumpy mood and left with a smile. It's amazing how a great meal can change the trajectory of a bad mood. The Funghi Pizza and Beet Salad both had delightful earthy flavor that left you wanting another bite of each! We had the Bruschettas and they were delicious! So fresh and tasty, nicely seasoned, bread was fresh but still crispy. My only complaint was it was supposed to have olives and other accoutrements with the dish and it did not have anything other than the Brushettas. The service is always excellent & the servers know the menu so welll, they give great suggestions on how to make it even better with a good pairing or alternate options. It's a nice open atmosphere, part dining, part bar, but definitely not 'bar food'. The attention to detail, quality & flavor is wonderful. My favorite thing on the menu is currently the burrata plate. I've been trying them everywhere this summer & theirs is definitely the best. We absolutely loved the Frito Misto as an appetizer, although it was on the happy hour menu but wasn't on our check at the happy hour price, it was incredible. They have a very nice bar and one tv. Definitely not a sports day place to hang. The ambiance is definitely high class but also casual. The prices would reflect the same about $15-20 a dish. We started with the bread and butter that came perfectly sliced and seasoned. The bread was the best part of our meal in my opinion. It wasn't too hard like some sourdough places and they put garlic on it. The butter was just enough, they didn't skimp, but you do have to pay and bread does not come with your meal. For dinner my friend had a red sauce dish, I honestly could tell you the name of either dish. They were in Italian and we had to google stuff to know what we were ordering. His was good. I had something with a white sauce, I'd say similar to carbonara but not as greasy. It was good, it had peas and I added chicken as it came with no meat. The peas definitely had an overwhelming flavor. I had two moscatos, the moscato was delicious! Super sweet and good. My friend had two beers and liked them. We got here at 3:30 with a practically empty restaurant and started with an appetizer. After we were finished with our appetizer we were sitting there, in an empty restaurant, with empty plates, waiting longingly for our waiter for about 15 minutes. No luck finding our waiter and eventually another server comes to take our order. My pasta, the Malfaldina was just ok. Ate most of it but not raving home about it and wouldn't order it if I was here again. My friend got the gnocchi and ate literally 3 pieces of it as the flavor was super strange. The menu indicates the pizza is ready in 4 minutes. We ordered a Togo pizza as soon as our food came out. We (me) had finished our food and STILL waited 30 minutes for the pizzas. The timing is not a huge issue but the menu shouldn't say the pizza is ready in 4 minutes when it takes 7x that to be ready. The pizza wasn't bad but honestly I haven't had a bad pizza in my life so that isn't saying much. Flagging down our server again for the check was a pain. He did not ask us how our dinner was and didn't acknowledge that my friend ate 3 pieces of her gnocchi. The picture attached is how he took her plate lol, basically untouched. After spending 2 hours in an empty restaurant I wouldn't return here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either. This restaurant was absolutely amazing, may be the best Italian food I've had in my lifetime. Are used to love a place in Las Vegas, as well as a place in Illinois. This definitely ranks as one of the top that I've ever had. The other thing that is amazing, was the service by our server. Our server, her name was Kayla was absolutely amazing. We had a party of 30 and she made us all feel welcomed, and she had a very contagious.
