Considering all the great reviews, I really wanted to love this place. I figured it might be a bit more authentic because it's a bit out of the way from the touristy area of Rome and there were lots of people there speaking Italian. The truth of the matter is I much prefer the less authentic pizza I suppose. The pizza here kind of tasted like the tortilla pizza I would make as a kid and it wasn't especially satiating. I wish I went with a pasta dish because the ones I saw on other peoples' plates looked delicious. Based on the pizza alone, this place wasn't to my liking, but the vibes and service were excellent and I have faith that the other dishes are better here! read more

This restaurant was close to our Airbnb and we were exhausted when we came in so we decided to give it a try. It was probably one of the best meals we had while we were in Rome, even better than some of our splurge/fancy meals. The best part of it was that we were just a one minute walk away instead of going into the city. It's a no frills type restaurant just really good food that's English friendly. The only thing I knew how to order in Italian was red wine and we managed to communicate with ease. The staff was really kind and accommodating. Our favorites were the Cacio e Pepe and the Spaghetti Vongole (clams). The pasta was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful. The eggplant parm was wonderful was well. We came back a second night because of how good this place was. The dessert was also amazing, the tiramisu trio had the most amazing limoncello flavored one. read more

First meal in Italy! We walked up in this restaurant accidentally after looking at other "Americanized" places. It was good. Nothing spectacular. What we ordered: Carbonara: a bit oily but very flavorful. Pasta was definitely dried then boiled (as opposed to freshly made). We ordered carbonara and pizza. One of my favorite meals in the week I was in Rome. It's a ways off the beaten path (located in San Lorenzo) so you're unlikely to get a lot of tourists. In fact the two times we went there for dinner there was only one other tourist group. The food was fantastic. Some of the things we ordered included lamb shank, cinghiale (boar), squid pasta, octopus salad (oddly, it had potatoes), lemon cream shrimp pasta, etc. They were all delicious and the portions were good for the price. We also tried the pistacchio tiramisu on one occasion and it was fantastic. The staff speaks limited English and I pretty much don't speak Italian, but they didn't mind my miming and poor attempts at Italian. In fact, they were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Good thing I had Google translate and they had an English menu. read more

WOW. Out of 17 cities across 9 countries that my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to experience during our Eurotrip this past summer, this restaurant made it to our top 3 meals of our entire trip. This restaurant is located right behind Termini station. There's quite a bit of seating, but it still manages to keep the cozy, intimate feel that is expected for a family-owned Italian restaurant. This was our first meal in Rome, and boy did it set the bar high. We came in for lunch, and ordered the Seafood Spaghetti to split. Out came a gigantic bowl of pasta, marinara sauce, clams, octopus, shrimp, crawfish, and scallops. Absolutely to die for. We also ordered a quart (or 2) of the white house wine which was delicious as well, and super inexpensive for how great it tasted. We loved this restaurant so much that we also came for dinner the following night. My boyfriend was still so impressed by the seafood spaghetti that he ordered it for this meal as well. I wanted to try something different (since I was convinced all of their food would be to die for), and ordered a lamb skewer with vegetables. It was amazing too, but nothing could top the first dish we tried. We were sad to leave such a wonderful restaurant with such sweet, friendly owners, but are so excited to return the next time we find ourselves in Roma :) read more

Has an English menu if you're not fluent in Italian (and pictures!!) We were in Rome 5 nights and came here 2/5 times for dinner.. that's how good this place is. The staff was amazing and interactive, and worked hard to understand our English bc our Italian is terrible! The shrimp and lemon pasta was so amazing my favorite in Rome! Our food here was excellent - though the wait staff spoke limited English (and we spoke limited Italian!) they were incredibly accommodating and friendly - the place seemed to be filled with locals. They do have an English menu for those who struggle to read Italian. The food was excellent and the portions were enormous for the price! I definitely recommend the bruschetta sampler appetiser. Expected better given the good reviews here. The gnocchi were somewhat al Dente and the fish fried in thick batter. Staff was super enthusiastic and enjoyed the atmosphere. I had gnocchi alle Vongole with porcini mushrooms. Loved the flavor of the mushrooms. read more

If you are staying in the area of Roma Termini and want to avoid the overly touristy and not very good restaurants in the immediate vicinity, take a short walk down Viale di Porta Tiburtina or Via Marsala to the San Lorenzo area for this place. Excellent selection, creative menu yet homey, neighbourhood restaurant type service. I had a pasta dish with an unusual combination of cuttlefish (larger than the baby ones served in Asian restaurant and tasting more like octopus) with artichokes. It really worked well together. My dining partner ordered a more ordinary gnocchi dish but that was excellent as well. read more

This was a wonderful restaurant experience for us! The waitstaff were very friendly and took the time to explain things to us and were patient with our questions. The food was wonderful! We got a 1/4 L house red wine, still water, a Pizade Napoli, two pasta dishes, and the tiramisu. All homemade, all delicious, and very reasonably priced (under 40 Euro!!). I have no idea how this place has such good reviews on Yelp. I stayed nearby so came here wth my mom to try out their pasta. We weren't super hungry so we just got the fettuccini with mushroom. The dish was very small for 9 Euros. More importantly, it was so salty that it was not edible. The fettuccini was not long whole noodle pieces but broken. It was about 3-4cm each piece. Not sure if this is Italian authentic, but it was so bad I couldn't eat it. We ended up having to throw most of the dish away. read more

We had dinner here by chance when trying to escape the tourist masses from the historic center. Wonderful food and exceptional hosts. My quintessential Italy experience. My wife had excellent pasta and I had some great pidaza. The street is very calm and you can sit outside with almost no traffic. We ordered prosciutto for appetizers (like all prosciutto around town, nothing too spectacular), seafood pasta for the first meal, tuna steak for the second meal, and creme brûlée for dessert. The seafood pasta was perfect, flavourful, and al dente. The tuna steak was cooked well done, but it was still juicy and not too dry. Wow, I feel a bit embarrassed that I tried this place only now after living basically next to it for nearly a year. It was amazing! I had the gnocchi with porcini and mussels and my boyfriend had pasta con carcofi e sepia. Soooo good. Afterwards we had a secondo, calamari ripieni with carcofi alla giudica and we shared a tiramisu - the best we had in Rome so far. The place was very homely and down to earth and the waiter a real sweetheart. All the dishes we had were exceptionally good for fair prices. The waiter recommended a wine for us which was delicious! We have been in Italy a week (second trip), trying to stick with highly rated restaurants, and this is the best dinner we have had, thus far. Everything was fantastic and it was a bargain, to boot. We ordered insalata misto, grilled vegetables, grilled whole sea bass (very fresh/delicious), spaghetti with clams (my personal favorite), limoncello tiramisu, sparkling water, and 1 carafe of house red and I think it came in under 50 Euro. The neighborhood was charming and many locals were in the restaurant. Lovely waitstaff. Walking there from Termini felt a little sketch so we took a taxi back to our hotel, but it was dark and rainy so the walk was probably safer than it felt. read more
