We even had to use Google Translate just to ask for red rice. This is Texas, not another country, so a basic level of English for food items and numbers should be expected. Food absolutely terrible, i've ordered from here and the other one by 45N and beltway8 multiple times, hanging out with friends or before going to work even though I told the waitress and it's not her fault that I wanted my habanero rice and shrimp with a very small amount of habanero the order came back with three times the habanero that is normally in it, so much so that it made a friend physically sick, the oysters on the half shell were overcooked and salty, no one spoke any english and they expected to be paid for this crap, unbelievable.... I love this place I always used to come but the other night I went and these females at the bar I mean I wonder if they even got a license to sell alcohol because they didn't even know how to make drinks when I asked them something they had to ask another lady to come and she was acting like she spoke English then turns around and now she don't know English mind you I speak Spanish and English so when I kept asking them for a type of drink they all just kept staring at me looking really slow. He over charges people in order for him to make extra money for himself. And offers "special treatment" or "extra benefits" if you pay him a little extra. If you don't speak Spanish do not go here. They will charge you for items you did not order. A $15 dollar Ceviche turned into a $50 dollar charge. I walked passed the kitchen to go to the restroom and I noticed no one within my eyesight was wearing gloves while touching food. When I got to the restroom I almost tripped on a kid seat that had fell and was in the middle of the halfway. My chicken fajitas were horrible quality, they were the same texture as the chicken in the teriyaki bowl from Jack In The Box. When I got my drink there were tiny things (don't know what) floating in it. Pandemic or not, everything about this place was a disgrace and unsanitary. Pathetic is an understatement. Such a dirty restaurant. Do not go to the bar unless you want to be charge $10 per person to be seated on a dirty table and with people smoking next to you. Order a drink and tasted like concentrated lime juice. Shrimp aguachile is nasty, seems like they boil the shrimp and then just throw a nasty green salsa on top. This place is awesome. A good mix of authentic Michoacan fare and traditional tex-mex standards, all served in a very authentic atmosphere. Personal favorites would be the ceviche de pescado and the fish tacos. The different red snapper (or huachinango as they refer to it here) preparations are intriguing and, from what I've had, delicious. I do not recommend the Michelada - beer with hot sauce. Maybe it's worth a try if you're curious, but I will not be ordering it again...just stick to plain old Modelo Especial. Two other points: 1) The prices are reasonable, but not super cheap. (2) Do not come here if you are in a hurry...come with friends and just relax and enjoy. Great place. Highly recommend. read more
