I can always tell whether I'm going to love a Mexican restaurant by the chips and salsa--and this…read moreplace started off VERY strong! The chips were fresh, the salsa was flavorful, and right from the first bite, I knew we were in for a good meal. We ordered the beef fajita chimichanga, chicken mole enchiladas, and shrimp caldo, and every single dish was seasoned perfectly. Nothing was bland or relying on toppings to make up for a lack of flavor. Everything was balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. And that shrimp caldo... As someone who has been to Mexican seafood restaurants where the caldo just doesn't quite hit the mark, I was genuinely impressed. The broth was rich and deeply flavorful, with chipotle chiles in adobo and dried shrimp that gave it an incredible depth. It was the kind of caldo that makes you slow down and actually savor every spoonful. Honestly, I haven't enjoyed Mexican food this much in a long time. Everything tasted authentic, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to--and I already know I'm going to have a hard time ordering anything other than that caldo next time! A special thanks to our server, Nancy, for the caldo suggestion and for the great service!

The only thing I don't think I would get again is the tostada. It is a little noisier because they have music and chatter. It's a casual Mexican restaurant so it's usually this way. This time around I got the chilaquiles verdes con arrachera--and let's just say that was a WINNER WINNER! Next time I want to do the chilaquiles divorciados (1/2 salsa verde/ 1/2 salsa ranchera). Waiters are great & the vibe is even better: I would love to return for a date night. We usually come as a family, which is just as enjoyable! The only con I have is how small the parking space is all-around. Other than that, come with your belly's empty!

We were planning to get dinner at Pappadoux or Pappasito's, but when I looked them up on Yelp, the reviews were not great. Instead, I stumbled upon Letty's and called to see if they had room for our large group. They were incredibly accommodating, and they were able to seat the 13 of us together with only 30 minutes of notice. The decor was fun and beautiful, the food was fantastic (esp the ribeye appetizer,) but it was the staff / team who truly stood out and made our experience so fantastic. From the jefe holding the door open to welcoming us, to our server suggesting off-menu vegetarian options, we could hardly believe how welcome we felt. The restaurant was spacious, clean and incredibly chic / well designed and though we had already eaten too much earlier that day, the drinks and dinner had fantastic flavor, great portion sizes and most importantly.. they were served with so much love. Muchas gracias a mi familia Letty's!!

There is a green dip that tasted bland. I had the special which was trio fajitas. The steak inedible, the shrimp were over cooked. The 3 pieces of chicken I had were good. I called to see if they (by chance) had any gluten-free options, and the person I spoke with confirmed the following: any marinated meat isn't safe since soy sauce is used; the rice is fried in a shared fryer; the beans are GF; corn tortillas and shredded chicken are safe; and the queso, salsa, and guacamole are safe (I believe the chips are in a shared fryer). I took this knowledge when I went to order today, and so far, I haven't had any symptoms. Our food was served hot, and as always, it was excellent. The waitress gave us shirts for Cinco de Mayo, and they had other fun trinkets they were giving away. We usually go to Pappasito's for Cinco, but since the San Jac is up, we decided to keep it within the Kingwood side of the river. I'm so glad we did. Though this place is usually busy, it was dead today (probably because of the weather). Service is always stellar, and we didn't have to ask for anything. We were in there for a total of 45 minutes - our food was out in a matter of minutes after ordering, and our waitress was incredible. We will absolutely be back!

The same meats are offered for all of them, so you basically get to choose your variation of carb :D Didn't realize they had a Taco Tuesday special (specifically the taco trompo is $1 each instead of $2), which wasn't mentioned anywhere in store, until I got the receipt. Only bottled water and drinks available :( Tacos only come with onions and cilantro. If you want cheese or sour cream, it's an extra charge for each. They do have house creamy green and spicy red sauces, but they didn't bring it to our table until I was done with half my tacos. Tacos come with 2 small corn tortillas: - Barbacoa (4.5/5): tender, flavorful -- this one was my favorite. - Chorizo (4/5): nicely cooked, flavorful, but very salty - Lengua (1/5): crunchy and hard, flavorless. More texture than anything. - Tripa (1/5): also not seasoned and not flavorful. Meat wasn't tender either. - Nopales (4/5): cactus grilled tender, wasn't seasoned so it didn't have too much flavor. But it came with grilled jalapeño and onions which were yummy. - Sopes (3/5): my first time having a sopes so not sure how it's supposed to taste like, but the base is made of masa flour and felt like a dense, pasty waffle. It was a on the soggy side and couldn't be picked up. This one came with cheese and sour cream but didn't have much flavor even with the chicken, so we still doused it with the sauces. Didn't see any beans on there. Nice to try but probably wouldn't order again. The service was not unfriendly but poker-faced and to the point. When I asked how the cactus tasted, the staff member could not tell me if it was salty or sweet (fyi, it's a savory dish). The ladies' restroom also had no toilet paper (not even a finished roll). But the tables and overall eating environment was clean and bright. Overall, an okay meal without frills. I would compare it to a food truck but in a nicer environment + nice parking lot. The Lengua and Tripa let me down, but I would return for their Barbacoa!
