Phillip the owner quickly contacted me back to set up my appointment. Zack was the tech who came out. He performed probably the most thorough diagnostic of our HVAC of anyone we have had out. He quickly diagnosed the problem we were currently having as well as an issue which has been plaguing us since the unit was installed and resulted in the replacement of no less than five inducer blowers (@ $600 each.) Zack was courteous, friendly and professional and most importantly knew what he was doing. He also didn't fall off the roof which we greatly appreciated. Hawk is a small business as opposed to a mega company that doesn't care about you long term, who just do what it takes to get you going and move on. Unfortunately I have dealt with a couple of those companies. Just not the same quality of service. I cannot provide a stronger recommendation for a HVAC company than Hawk. Preston arrived and quickly diagnosed the issue. At least within 5-10 minutes. Capacitor had gone bad. Didn't take him very long to get it replaced. He is very knowledgeable and patient.. I asked all about how we could better maintain our unit because I know very little about HVAC maintenance and he took the time to explain how to properly clean the unit to help maintain it. But he took some pictures and was going to reach out to boss. Never heard from the guy again. Now, today, I noticed quite a bit of oxidation on the galvanized pipes they used, along with the connection points on the brass. This can't be normal or good in this small amount of time. Jake came out and determined that his tech installed a part incorrectly, causing the leak and damaging the ceiling. He told us that he would fix the problem and have the ceiling repaired. He did come out and repair the unit on july 27 but as of this review (9/27), the ceiling has not been repaired. I Finally had a local guy come out and provide a quote but no response from Jake along with no response from any of my messages. I have zero problem with the install error but not fixing the ceiling as promised and ignoring my messages is not appropriate.

So we contacted Grizzly after that company told us we needed to replace our compressor for $7000+ (and recommended we just replace the whole unit if we had to do that). Grizzly was able to come out same day during the heat wave. Joseph (our Grizzly service guy) called me on his way, came and asked a couple questions and told us what the two possible issues were based off the info he had. He got right to work on the unit on our roof. Joseph said it seemed like the capacitor which is what we had assumed was the issue as well, and went to get the part from the shop. He came back with the part and had our ac blowing cold air again shortly after. Joseph even talked to us about our washable filter being too thick and possibly causing our machine to work too hard and gave us info on purchasing a better washable filter option. Overall, Joseph did his job fantastically. He walked us through the process and was professional and extremely friendly. Working with Grizzly was actually about $90 cheaper than if we would have replaced the same part with the other company. Luckily for us, a terrible experience with one company made us reach out to Grizzly and we ended up with the best value and experience fixing our ac on a hot day. They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Their initial estimate was for a smaller system so I requested that they provide an estimate for a larger system. The staff was great and provided an estimate for the larger system which I appreciated. On the day of setup, they two employees provided information on the system and were timely and quick in set-up. I appreciated how friendly they were and they provided information on the system. During set-up they notified their might be a power issue related to the system but after discussion with the owner, they determined that the system would be adequately powered. Overall it was a great experience and I believe the system the set-up was a great value. Looking to get lower bills in the summer when the heat cranks up! Only issue that I did not notice till later is that they actually had changed out to from a stealth to a trident but they had upped the version. Initially I was surprised by this but since it was a larger system and it was still able to be powered I did not have any issues.
