Phillip the owner quickly contacted me back to set up my appointment. Zack was the tech who came out. He performed probably the most thorough diagnostic of our HVAC of anyone we have had out. He quickly diagnosed the problem we were currently having as well as an issue which has been plaguing us since the unit was installed and resulted in the replacement of no less than five inducer blowers (@ $600 each.) Zack was courteous, friendly and professional and most importantly knew what he was doing. He also didn't fall off the roof which we greatly appreciated. Hawk is a small business as opposed to a mega company that doesn't care about you long term, who just do what it takes to get you going and move on. Unfortunately I have dealt with a couple of those companies. Just not the same quality of service. I cannot provide a stronger recommendation for a HVAC company than Hawk. 5 Star reviews are hard to come by, but Hawk Heating & Air Deserves it and here is why. Philllip the owner came out to give me an estimate for a whole system Replacement the Condensor and Furnace. Here is how honest this man is, he took the time to diagnose my unit for his own curiosity free of charge. He found that the Capacitor the previous company "Giddens Brothers" put in a week before was the wrong one. Tested my compressor and it was fine, with the right Capacitor its running flawlessly. I was super Thankful and ask him to Bill me for the service charge he just saved me 13-16k for a system replacement. This man, told me Oh there is NO charge Keep the Capacitor and enjoy your AC. I had 5 companies come out before Phillip and they all gave me estimates for a system replacement. One trying to beat the other with rates and selling their equipment. Phillip could have done the same thing and went with the "yeah your compressor is bad" and quoted me for a system replacement. This experience showed how HONEST he is and to his own company. Honestly, the best company I've had ever. Fair and honest pricing, prompt service, straightforward analysis of the issue and thorough explanation of what needs to be done. We contacted Hawk through Yelp to get a quote on replacing our 30+ year old HVAC. Phillip got back to us within 5 minutes and we set up a time for him to come look at our system. He called to confirm in the morning prior to coming out and when he arrived took a thorough look at our system, even spotting a few issues that no one else had. We spent about an hour discussing what we would need. He was clearly knowledgeable, up front and honest about everything, and we felt we would be comfortable having him install our system. He e-mailed a proposal to us by the end of the day and called as right after sending it to be sure we'd received it. After getting all our estimates Hawk's was competitive and comprehensive, but since we could only choose one company we ended up going with someone else. After numerous problems with the work done by Costco's chosen installer I decided to seek a Lennox dealer who would do quality work. Hawk is a certified dealer and their reviews on Yelp! are great so I reached out and received a prompt reply from the owner Philip. The technician Zach who came out quickly diagnosed the charred smart hub in my attic and that it was under warranty and would be ordered immediately. The work was done as soon as the replacement arrived a couple of days later and Zach also fine-tuned my equipment for maximum performance which was something the installer failed to do. Philip called after the installation to complete the warranty and also to answer any questions. I had a lot and we talked for quite awhile. We recently had a spell of hot days and fired up the AC for the first time this season. When we noticed that no cool air was coming out, I looked around and decided to call Hawk based on the 5 star rating and reviews that I read. I was so glad I did! Ken was our technician and when he came by, he was so thorough when conducting his inspection. He was able to determine that our builder did not complete a proper install with the drainage of our unit which resulted in rusted coils. He let us know that our coils were under warranty and said he would take care of everything! During the process, we were going to hit a couple of days of 90+ degree heat and were prepared for no AC during that stretch. Not ideal, but while we were waiting for our coil replacement to come in, we had no choice. Thankfully, a day before the heat, I get a call from Ken and he asked me if it was alright if he swung by to add some refrigerant to our AC unit since he knew that we were going to get a couple of hot days and he didn't want us to be without the use of our AC unit. Talk about service!! Because he came by, we were able to run our unit, the home was nice and cool, and we were able to relax comfortably at home. Once the replacement coils came in, Ken was on time, meticulous with the install, and made sure everything was running at peak performance before he left. All-in-all, it was a fantastic experience! I've already recommended Ken and Hawk Heating and Air to a friend of ours and I will continue to do so! Please read this review before calling the other AC guy/Company My AC went out a few weeks ago and I had an AC Company come out for a diagnosis. I called this first company bc they have serviced my unit in the past thinking they would be honest/straight forward. The findings were inconclusive but recommended a entire new system ($8500-$13,000) Holy macro!!!! I decided to have a second opinion and called Hawk Heating & Air to come out Phillip/owner took 15-20 min to change capacitor, reverse fan rotation. Voila AC condenser kicked on right away. AC cooled the house immediately. It's too bad I didn't call Phillip sooner when it was 100 plus degrees for 6-7 days straight. I am a happy camper & couldn't be any happier. Was having airflow issues, terrified I was going to have to replace the octopus that lives on the roof! Phillip came out the day after I called him, I did a walk through, educated me on the vents, the type of filter I was using and adjusted a couple of things to make it better. These guys are great! Picked up my call on first few rings. Was very informative on the phone and provided a fair up front estimate to service my AC unit. We wanted to upgrade our thermostats to one of those smart ones. Sounds simple right? Well I missed one major step when attempting to upgrade our thermostats! I didn't turn off the main power therefore I blew a fuse on the day after thanksgiving (out of all days)! So since it was a holiday weekend I was so scared that no one would be able to come out. I messaged Hawk heating and air and spoke with Phillip. He told me that it is very common for the fuse to blow and that it's a super easy fix. He told us exactly what to do but honestly after my attempt to change the thermostats I wanted no more parts of DIY! Luckily for us he was actually going to be in our area the next day so we totally booked! Before arriving he called ahead to let us know! Always appreciate a call ahead. Phill is great. He got back to me fast was knowledgeable about what needed to be done to maintain the unit. He was honest too because I changed the batteries and the unit started working again when I turned it on. He was also recommended to schedule maintenance on the unit. I felt more confident in his expertise than the company I use to go with that charged $79 just to come out and look at the unit. Plus, I found out the company that installed the water line that runs out of the unit covered the box to open the door and making it hard to check the burners. We lived in our house for about 5 years and never had the Ac checked out , so I felt it was time to get one done. They got back to me first with good reviews, so I hired them. Our technician came and I felt he was a bit unprofessional. No uniform, and dirty boots. When he came in, I had to ask him to get boot covers on. He changed our filter, and then went to the back yard, looked at Ac unit. Total of about 10-15 mins, said everything was fine and charged us and left.
