Tried Satang Thai in Beaverton and went with their chicken pad thai--solid choice. The noodles were cooked just right, not mushy, with a nice balance of sweet and tangy. The chicken was tender and didn't feel like an afterthought, which I appreciate. Portion size was generous, and everything tasted fresh. If I had to nitpick, I might ask for a little more heat next time, but overall it definitely hit the spot. Would come back to try more dishes. read more

She said it was very tasty. I believe her. There were no leftovers. The misstep was the mango sticky rice. The rice was underdone and the mango was way under ripe. We didn't want to cook dinner on a Friday night so we went to Satang, super close to our house we could even walk there. We didn't have to wait for a table and were seated very quickly. My colleague and I grabbed a quick lunch in between appointments. The service was great. We were seated immediately, browsed the menu and ordered right away. They have some great lunch specials for $14. We ordered Thai iced tea for $5 and our lunch came with choice of salad rolls, fried won ton or another appetizer item. What a delightful find super close to our home! We learned Satang has only been open for a few months, so I feel better that we haven't been missing out for longer than we have. The food is the best Thai we've had since moving from the East Bay, CA! The restaurant has lively decor and is clean and bright. Our server was welcoming and warm and offered helpful suggestions. We shared satay as an appetizer, which was fantastic! I ordered the Khao Ka Moo as my entrée, which is served with a small dish of chili sauce. My only regret about my entree was not dipping into that sauce sooner! Unlike my hubby and my daughter's partner (both of whom are hot-food fans), I tend to like my food on the mild side. I was wary of adding any heat to my dish, but I'm here to say, I would pour that chili sauce on everything I eat if I could. It was so flavorful and had a kick, but wasn't spicy for spice's sake. It took the dish from delicious to Nirvana. My daughter got her favorite, Pad See Ew, which she said was the best she's had since dining at one of our favorite Thai restaurants in Santa Cruz, CA--high praise! My hubby had the Pineapple Fried Rice, hot, and hasn't stopped talking about it since. Our daughter's partner got Khao Soi, extra hot, and he loved it! Raving for Satang Thai Cuisine! My husband and I came here and are so impressed by not just the quality/cleanliness of the restaurant but the amazing Thai food! The interior of the restaurant is very cute! Nice tables and pretty light fixture. The satay had a chicken or tofu option, being vegetarian I was curious if the tofu would be good even though chicken is the traditional satay. It was DELICIOUS. My husband got the papaya salad and red curry- 3 and 4 on spice and said it was just like his mom made. I am now a sucker for mango sticky rice, this was awesome. Although my last two times I've gotten my go to, Khao Soi, a yellow curry dish with soft and fried egg noodles.. so delicious. This new Thai restaurant is so cute! The ambience and decor is really adorable. My husband and I started out with some shrimp salad rolls which were delicious. Then we did family style with the pumpkin spice red curry with chicken and crispy pork with broccoli. The portions were well sized. A definite must-try! Ordered takeout from this spot near Scholls and Murray (right next to Roxy's). This was my second visit, and once again, they nailed it! I got the Chu Chi Fish and Thai Street Fried Rice (with tofu and veggies). Both dishes were so flavorful. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, and that curry sauce it comes with? Delicious. The fried rice was also amazing--don't let the simple menu description fool you, it's packed with flavor. Honestly, I could eat it on its own, but it would go great with just about anything. Everything was just as good as my first visit, and the staff are super friendly too. Definitely coming back--can't wait to try more of their dishes! read more

When ordering Thai staples at a Thai restaurant, such as pad Thai and spicy basil fried rice, the expectation is for it to be savory, flavorful, and aromatic. Both dishes were ordered medium but literally the only thing you could taste was how overly sweet both dishes were- masked by the covering of chilis. Maybe with time their recipes will improve but for now, it's unfortunately a pass for me with all of the other Thai options around. read more

This place was fantastic. Thai food is a favorite of mine and so I am always on the hunt for the best place around. Out of five Thai places I've tried in Beaverton, Satang wins without a doubt, and it's not even close. Three of the five I tried were down right disappointing in one way or another. I've never had TomYum with better broth, it was so deep and complex with flavor, Pad Se Ewe was rich in umami deep seared beef flavor, and the green curry was dialed. On top of that, the staff was friendly, and even went above and beyond for us at one point. I complimented the chef and he came out to say hello! If you love Thai as much as I do, do yourself a favor and head to Satang. You won't be disappointed. Five Stars. 10/10. read more

This is my favorite Thai place in the Progress Ridge, Murray Hill area. I love their Mussaman Curry and Tom Yum soup. Their Thai renowned dishes have a good quantity of vegetables. But, it's the authentic family recipes are where it's at. Kana Fai Dang and Khao Soi have so much flavor packed into them. I would drive 10 miles for this over the other local options. SO disappointing :( This is our third visit - we'd loved it before -- so much we we tried new dishes -- but sadly we'll have a hard time going back. We liked our first two visits just fine and were so impressed we took a risk and ordered the beef Pad Prik Khing rather than chicken which is a safer bet -- I figured since they'd done so well on the other dishes, I would give them benefit of the doubt and go for the beef (unspecified cut). BUT: I just could *not* eat it. The cut of beef was -- who knows from where -- but it was basically full gristle (you could see it), rubbery, and unchewable. Had to spit it out. Never had such bad beef from anywhere, even food trucks. Really sad. (note to the staff: there are easy ways to tenderize even cheap cuts of meat -- that step could have made a significant difference, although the gristle still would have been there) Even the pineapple fried rice was so salty my husband couldn't taste the tofu he was looking forward to. He only ate half of it and quit - usually I can count on him to finish his dish and mine LOL but he tried one piece of beef and gave up too. So many restaurants and trucks around here start out great and go downhill trying to cut costs...it's like a local curse...and I'm afraid Satang is falling victim to it. read more
