I've been wanting try this spot ever since they opened, but in the nicest way possible, what a disappointing experience. The coffee was heavily watered down and masked by the syrup flavors (even after asking for sweetness adjustment). Tastes like they use single shot for their specialty coffees so I could not taste it at all. The breakfast burrito was okay but very salty. It was also expensive for the size. I finished it in 4 bites!! I hope they are able to make improvements soon. read more

My new favorite spot! Nothing falls short from amazing especially when it comes to the coffee and hospitality. Always greeted and taken care of upon walking in and the staff is super attentive. All the specialty coffees are a 10/10 but my favorite right now is almond+mint for a hot drink and golden hour for my iced pick. Ordered a avocado toast for lunch, remember lunchtime is 30 min. Took about a good 20 min to make a slice of bread lol. Probably would t recommend the avocado toast for $15 lol not worth it. Fantastic meal. We did have to wait outside for 5 minutes to order. But then we sat right down and got our good within 10 minutes. Most importantly it was delicious. I had southwest bowl. Best cafe in town. Ok this has become my new favorite spot in town. It has a great atmosphere, the architecture is everything. The employees are all very kind and service is amazing. Central Valley needs more cafes like this! ~ It took two visits before we actually got to finally experience the newly anticipated Otherside Cafe. First time was on the weekend and the line was out the door down the sidewalk so we went elsewhere. Second time was on a weekday and although it was fully bustling inside with a line we were able to find a table in the enclosed patio outside with heatlamps overhead. The modern space, ambience, design is what I would expect of the Saizon restaurant group and reminds me more of a cafe you'd find in LA than Fresno. Timing wise, our food and beverages came out separately in piece meals and took a while. We ordered the steak breakfast burrito, smoked salmon avocado toast, honey saffron cafe au lait and regular latte. The breakfast burrito, which is usually the beau's go to on menus, was nicely seasoned but salsa verde was on the blander side and could have had more heat for our liking. Avocado toast is our specialty to make at home so we are very particular about ordering it. By the time it came out we had already eaten half the burrito. Bread was perfectly toasty and tastefully dressed with special touches of microgreens, seeds and crumbs of egg yolk. We enjoyed the creative coffee twist but usually prefer our coffee less sweet. Overall a good, lively spot to socialize over coffee and breakfast bites if you don't mind the wait or crowdedness. read more

This place is either overrated or I'm just ordering the wrong things. I first ordered a chai latte which was just okay. The garden breakfast burrito was decent, but nothing special about it the potatoes were hard and the tortilla didn't seemed cooked through so it had a chewy texture. I then ordered a golden hour iced latte which was a better drink but again nothing special. The line is almost always out the door no matter the day or time you go. This place really only has its "aesthetic" design going for it, and the wait staff was super nice. read more

I personally think that although there's plenty of people in there and the building is big, it's just really plain and too modern. Lacks personality or welcoming vibe. I had to request a lid for the to go mocha after waiting so long have it put in a to go cup. The overpriced donut for my grandma she stated "tasted old". Nice place located in North Fresno and Clovis off of Willow. Service was quick and courteous. Had Chai Latte, Earl grey tea once, and Turmeric ginger tea the next time with warmed up Monkey bread, was enough to share with two people. Starting with the food and coffee, the coffee itself is pretty mediocre. The lattes have fun, personalities and descriptions, but at the end of the day, are quite lacking in any flavor. Additionally, the drinks also feel quite watered down. Moving onto the food, the bowls are quite bland, though they are prepared well. I got the salmon bowl along with the south of the border bowl. The only thing I really enjoyed on their menu was the tri-tip sandwich which I thought was great. We got the avocado toast and a breakfast burrito on one occasion and I gotta say, probably one of the worst avocado toast, and breakfast burritos I've ever eaten. They were quite small, and the avocado toast was quite skimp on the avocado. For the prices that this place is charging, I expect a higher quality of food along with a larger portion size. The service here is adequate and fine, however, I did feel rushed from the time I sat down. The waiters are very eager to clear your plates. The last thing I'll say about this place is it's strangely engineered to not allow for people to stay for an extended period of time. It's marketed as a café and at a café, I would expect outlets and Wi-Fi for the public. However, the ambience lens itself to making you feel rushed as soon as you sit down. Another great spot from this company! Need to know their secret haha. Anyway, I love the modern American brunch/cafe concept and it's lovely for mornings and afternoons, whether you're catching up with friends/family or dining alone with a good book (although it can get a little loud during the rush). We tried the Athens chicken bowl and avocado Caesar salad with skirt steak and both dishes were hearty, balanced, and delish!! For beverages, their iced mocha was delightful. I will say, the matcha could have some improvement though. I thought the color was a great indicator of good quality matcha, but I wish they put a little more of it in my latte. Personally, I think a matcha latte should not be a light green but rather a little richer and more concentrated. Service-wise, I thought everyone was very kind and friendly! I do think the food runners could be reminded on proper handling of dishes, though (i.e. not placing their thumb on the inner-rim of the bowl they're holding when the set it onto the table..I would appreciate eating my food without a side of thumb ). But overall, love the space--great addition to the new wave of cool chic restaurants in Fresno/Clovis. You guys did it again. Thank you! read more
