Rain day so I ordered delivery via Yelp from Dream Cafe/ the popover is a star on their menu and I had to try it- it is huge. It arrived. Warm light and fluffy goes great with my morning coffee. Have a great day y'all!

Took my mom and son for lunch at dream cafe. First I will say the parking was easy. It's I parking garage and once you go up it's right around the corner and dream cafe does validate. Once inside it's set up like a diner with plenty of seating but because it was so nice outside we wanted to dine out there. Plenty of seating and really nice. Our waiter was very helpful. Because I plan to come back later to try breakfast I went with a lunch option of grilled cheese with ham and tomato soup. It was really good and filling. The serving size was just the right amount.

Not sure which view I liked more: the food on the table or the girl across from me! Seriously, the food here is amazing, and the wait staff is equally amazing. I wasn't sure what to get because everything looked good, and I joked with our waitress, Misty, that maybe I'd just start with the first thing on the menu and work my way down every time I come back. The monte cristo was delicious and the one bite I had of the mile high omelette was pretty tasty, too. You have to try the popover if you go. It's a nice side to any meal, and the house-made strawberry butter is fantastic. Oh, and for my iced coffee lovers out there, I thought it was neat that instead of traditional ice cubes (which inevitably melt and water down your coffee), they use frozen coffee cubes! Five stars. No notes. I will be back (and soon)!

Shout out to the waiter that took care of us- Diego! He was awesome!!! I ordered the Rancheros and it was pretty good. The whole time I had my eyes on the cinnamon snail pastry. I got one of those and a coffee and it made my day. It wasn't the best I ever had- but it was good and the vibe of the place combined with how nice and attentive the staff was made the whole thing an amazing vibe!

The location is in the heart of uptown. Easy to find, and there is plenty of free street parking around the perimeter. There is a parking lot but you have to pay for it. The restaurant is very quaint, modern, fresh. The staff was sweet, and helpful, although they did take a long time to get us the check at the end. The best part of this restaurant is they do cater to vegans and people who want to eat healthy when going out. I ordered an oatmilk chai latte with whole grain pancakes, and hashbrown. The latte hit the spot instantly! The hashbrown was Heaven- it was a perfect mix of soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. The pancakes in the otherhand were a bit heavy and bland, nothing special. Of course we have to consider i am getting the healthy pancake, it's not going to be the most delicious in the world. I will definitely come back for brunch again because they offer vegan dishes, The place is cute and the staff were respectful!

Good selection of food. greeted as soon as we walked in. Our server was Diego, He was very friendly and attentive. We ordered huevos rancheros, it was a runny egg so let them know how you want it. Also order the cinnamon snail, the taste was good but it was hard and difficult to cut into. Place was clean and bright.

It was my first time, and I loved the you're so vegan! I was also grateful that they have hot sauce and black pepper at the table. The host was extremely kind and literally bowed at my feet (completely serious), and my server was very nice as well.

The food was good, I got the Austin Tacos (subbed the breakfast potatoes inside for the hashbrowns) & the skintastic juice was really refreshing- also thought pretty small for $7. Giving 3 stars because the woman who was at the front when we arrived (some blonde headed lady, 45+ in age if I were to guess) was so snippy & rude for no reason. So if you want a pretty good cheap meal I'd go here just make sure to steer clear of the blonde woman.

Me and my girlfriend traveled to Dallas from San Antonio for the State Fair of Texas and was in search for a good brunch spot. Dream Cafe was perfect from the moment we walked inside to the moment we left. Our Server Misty was the best. She was personable and 5/5 on all recommendations. We ordered Bignets and Deviled eggs for appetizer with Mimosas and for our entrees we split the Country Fries Steak platter with the French Toast platter and the Omelet. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Shout out to the host as well with the white and black polkadot suit he was very professional and fun always checking in with us and making sure we're enjoying ourself. The inside and outside deck is a vibe 10/10

Misty was the BEST ! Her recommendations were on point. We started with the delicious latte and beignets that melted in our mouths. Then shared the Crab cake Benedict's that were so fresh. It was perfectly cooked. We can't wait to go back!

An overall okay experience. A party of 3 and we were all seated quickly. It was mid-morning on a Friday, and there was plenty of seating. Our waiter was so sweet and cared for our table. The coffee had good flavor but was just lukewarm. Someone ordered the Hippie Cakes, and they were very dense - seemed to be undercooked? Someone else ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. It was so much food which was great! The biscuit was so so so good! Homemade and moist! Didn't crumble out of my hand. The steak was a bit overcooked and the hash browns were undercooked, just a bit cold. My burrito was great though! Each bite had bacon and hash browns. There was plenty of cheese too. I do wish the scrambled eggs were a bit less browned inside. It also took a very long time to get food. Thankfully we had coffee and conversation. But if we were in a hurry, it wouldn't have been great. Everyone on staff was so, so friendly though. It felt like an inclusive and safe space. I do think with less options on the menu, they could highlight and shine through a few dishes.

    Leftover waffles

The chicken and waffle is by far the worst thing I've ate in 2026. You get two small unseasoned dried up pieces of chicken strips with the most disgusting piece of waffle I've ever had in my whole entire life. I didn't know waffles could be so disgusting but hey these restaurants surprise me every day. It's almost a scam. I ordered it on DoorDash and it had two big pieces of fried chicken as if you were getting them like at Roscoe's chicken and waffles. Nothing like it. I couldn't stomach the rest and gave it to my dog.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

The night started beautifully--we enjoyed espresso martinis at the bar and were then seated at one of our favorite tables. We ordered a bottle of wine and caviar and were settling in to plan the rest of our meal when the experience took a turn. A tween/teen birthday party was seated in the private room. At first, we assumed the noise was just initial excitement and would settle after a few minutes. The parents of the birthday girl were seated nearby, and when the mother got up, we expected she might ask the girls to lower their volume. Unfortunately, the opposite happened--she brought the group out into the main dining room for photos, where the noise level became even more disruptive. Another couple seated near us--at what is typically a very desirable table--lasted no more than five minutes before asking to be moved outside. Shortly after, a manager approached the private room. We anticipated they would address the noise, but instead, they greeted the party warmly and thanked them for being there, without making any effort to manage the disruption. After so many consistently great experiences, it was honestly shocking. We truly felt as though we were being punked. My boyfriend and I both have children and enjoy bringing them to nice restaurants, but part of that experience includes ensuring they understand and respect the environment. When that standard isn't upheld--especially with no support from management--it significantly detracts from the experience for everyone else.
