Even though I stayed at a bed and breakfast I wanted to try some local flavor for breakfast so I stopped here. The place is nothing fancy and full of locals like an old cafe. My server did a great job and got a 50% tip, I didn't catch her name. I ordered the southern sun rise breakfast which is 1/2 biscuits and gravy, two sausage links, two strips of bacon with two eggs. Everything but the eggs must have been pre cooked because my plate hit the table fast and nothing was hot off the grill. The biscuits and gravy was weird because it had a couple big chunks of sausage patties. The eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up. The sausage links were average and bland. The bacon was left over crispy/thin, pre cooked. Overall my breakfast was very average and not seasoned at all so next time I will try the other place in down town. read more

The downtown area has many more expensive more crowded restaurants that serve up food at about the same quality. This old fashioned family diner has a predictable menu and they do the standard diner options well. Tuna melts, burgers, ruebens, soup, American breakfast, that sort of thing. Best prices around for lunch. Friendly, quick service. I think this is your best choice for lunch downtown. read more

The food was absolutely terrible. I'm honestly shocked by the reviews. The meat on all our sandwiches tasted off (tuna salad and Rubens). No one had more than two bites, and we were starving, so that's truly saying something. Oil was pooling out of the brown tuna salad. The beef on the Ruben was so gristly I struggled to bite through it, and when I did it tasted rancid. I spit out the first bite into my napkin. The soup was coagulated and so salty it was truly inedible. When we complained, the manager said, "Tough luck" and accused us of trying to get a free meal. I wouldn't even feed this to my dog. He cursed out my calm husband and threatened to call the police if we didn't pay. Places like this give Mom & Pop shops a bad name. The manager should be ashamed. read more

Lots of items on the menu to choose from, and our group enjoyed all of the options. The food was very good and served its purpose well- to feed everyone at a good price point.
