I had a recent ER visit for severe bone pain from Chemotherapy Their staff called me at Hone to see how I was doing and immediately scheduled a ER follow up visit. Dr. Rutkowski is calming, Professional and gives you answers to your questions, especially in my current situation. My favorite nurse is very understanding and asks important questions. You expect to trust your family Doctor. You want to take them at their word. I walked in for a WELLNESS EXAM with the Nurse Practitioner and her assistant. I had a long conversation about my records. She assured me how they would be logged and handled and she lied straight to my face. When I called back to speak to the doctor. (I sent a message through the portal too) I was told I could not talk with him the message would be relayed the the nurse practitioner. The ONLY WAY to speak with the doctor about what went on, according to gate keeper who reads messages and answers phones was to make an appointment to see him and that could take months to get an appointment. The gate keeper would relay my message to the nurse practitioner though. If you want honestly, caring and have an open line to your doctor THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. After searching for 1 1/2 years for a primary physician I finally chose Our Family Practice in Brick NJ and Dr. Laura Tesoriero. Worst mistake I ever made. I had only been a patient for a little over a year but right from the beginning there were problems. Listed below are only a few. Dr Tesoriero made poor decisions concerning my medical treatment on several occasions, like using vinegar to treat an infection, refusing to give me the proper script for a mammogram, which she eventually has to concede to and most recently, giving me a script for a lung cancer screening which her office staff did not follow through on getting the authorization and lied to me saying it was denied, then discharged me as a patient by certified letter because I became upset that nothing was being done and had to cancel 2 appointments. I am no longer able to get that screening even though there's a history of lung cancer in my family until and hopefully I can find another Dr. When I requested several times to speak with her she flatly refused me and that, of course was before I received the discharge letter. The office staff is on the same level as the Dr, rude and unprofessional. In my opinion, RUN don't walk as far as you can from this practice. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I'm one of those guys who always writes positive reviews because I'm usually happy go lucky person, but unfortunately that's not happening today. When talking to the doctor we agreed that I had a bad upper respiratory infection, but refused to prescribe antibiotics and to give it a few days which I thought was weird (could turn into walking pneumonia). That night I had a horrible night with a ton of coughing with chest congestion. Today, I tried calling the receptionist where no one answered the phones and had to just physically go there. I asked if I could set another appointment or if the doctor would be willing to write me a prescription for antibiotics for symptoms have gotten much worse. I sat there extremely sick for 45 minutes until the somewhat rude receptionist came up to me and said the doctor will not see you, will not prescribe you antibiotics, and recommends you to go to an ER. Ridiculous! I'm never going back there again. I ended up going to an urgent care next door and who were extremely nice and caring. She listened to my chest which she said sounded horrible and prescribed antibiotics. Excited to get better now. read more

Absolutely horrible I don't know why my dad likes this place. I went because I had a horrible sore throat, coughing up phlegm and blood. I kid you not the doctor told me .. I'm fine it's just a cold. JUST A COLD? I was coughing up blood?? That's not normal!! A day later I can barely breathe, my lungs are inflamed. I almost end up in the hospital because nothing was bringing the fever down. The doctor recommended me to take Mucinex. Forgetting to inform me that it can have a dangerous interaction with my antidepressants that she knew I was takin btw... Do not recommend this place they never take you seriously when you are sick until it's too late. read more

I moved recently to the area in need of a new doctor, my mother found this place and set up an appointment for me because I was in need of medical attention due to possible broken ribs. My appointment was at 2:30 I waited in line for 8 minutes until it was my turn to check in, the front desk staff was completely unprofessional and disrespectful as they told me I was 10 minutes and they couldn't accept me for today. They are too busy chitchatting behind the desk rather than taking care of their patients. I'm happy they were disrespectful so I can take my business elsewhere. Terrible staff 0/5. read more

This place was recommended by my insurance website and when my husband looked at the reviews on Yelp I was hesitant to go here-but I'm glad I did! My experience was pleasant and my dr Michelle was very knowledgeable and empathetic. She has followed up with me twice since my original apt and does not shove unnecessary medicine at you. The office staff was professional and my wait time was not long. When I came back a second time get bloodwork they got me in and out in 10 minutes. Not to mention that I am an extremely hard stick they got it done the first time with minimal pain. Very pleased with this place and deserves more than 1 1/2 stars. read more

I can honestly say that they are horrible human beings, they are angry, ignorant, rude and combative towards patients and the patients children that accompany their senior parents to the office for their appointments. Absolute rudest receptionist. I called their office today in regards to my husband who is sick, I was treated with a snarky attitude and condescending information. I was looking for an appointment and was denied because "Covid is a virus take over the counter medications" - not once did she ask about his condition or for any of his symptoms. As you get older, it's harder to find a doctor. I scoured the internet, trying to find someone reasonable (probably like yourself, since you're reading this), and found this practice. Dreading trying to make an appointment (other places: "doctors aren't accepting new patients" or "we can see you in 3 months"), I was pleased how easy it was to do so. Unlike most these days, my doctor was patient and actually listened to me. Bedside manner aside, her medical expertise was sound and I was on my way. If you look at other places, you'll see that this place is well-reviewed. Not sure why it's so low here. Sure, I had to fill out forms in a waiting room and maybe my appointment started 5 minutes after its scheduled time (big deal). But I'll be coming back here next time I get sick - hopefully not too soon / knock on wood. read more

The front office staff is the worst 10 minutes late for an appointment and they refuse to see you. Never saw anything like this In my life how many times do you wait for the Dr 10, 15 20 minutes or more and not even an apology. Here if your late they throw you out and are rude about it. Terrible experience there. The waiting room smelled like diarrhea, there were children running around the waiting room screaming and I had to wait 45 minutes passed my appointment time to be seen. The doctor rushed through the visit and then asked me if I wanted them to call my prescription in to a pharmacy. I asked to have it sent to the WalGreens across the street. I go to the front desk and ask how much I owe (it was my first time using my new insurance), after 15 minutes of me standing there like an idiot listening to the women gossip they tell me I don't owe anything. So I left. I go across the street to Walgreens and ask about how long until my prescription is ready. They say they don't have it. Called up the doctor's office and they tell me they sent the prescription over to the Walgreens on Bridge Ave in Point Pleasant, just like I asked. I hang up and just drive to Point Pleasant before they fucked up anything else. That was back in June of '13. Fast forward to about November-December of 2013 and I am getting calls and letters saying that my account with Our Family Practice is 4 months past due. I hadn't heard a fucking peep out of them in months and now all of a sudden I was supposed to have paid them a little over $120 5 months ago. You can fuck up one or two things and it is understandable. But when you fuck up every single aspect of your business, I don't even know what to say about that. read more

Before I begin this review, let me say I am a RN and have worked in the medical field, primarily in Behavorial Health and Addiction Recovery for over 20 years, so I fully understand the workings of a medical setting. I chose this office based on other reviews posted on the Internet and after making an appointment and speaking with the office staff, it seemed like a good fit. I went to the office for an annual physical, basic lab work and prescriptions for an annual mammogram and medication for insomnia, Ambien, that I have been taking for nearly six years after having been diagnosed with Breast Ca with subsequent chemotherapy treatments and multiple surgeries. My physical exam was conducted not by a MD, but by a Nurse Practitioner. Which in itself was quite acceptable as I know NP's are well educated and I can fully appreciate the years of experience they have gained. However, my interview with the NP was primarily based on the information I had previously provided the Nursing Technician who performed by EKG and the initial intake. I was asked several very basic questions by the NP regarding my medical history as well as family history, however a complete verbal assessment of all of the body systems was not addressed. Additionally, the actual physical exam was extremely brief and rudimentary at best. I was able to obrtain on site lab work and a prescription for the mammogram I needed, however being new to the area, what I was not fully aware of, was that this part of NJ seems to be a hot bed for significant opioid abuse. I was given a one time order for the sleep aid I have routinely used for nearly six years without incident. This one time prescription did not have refills and I was told that this one time prescription was " A compromise". I was offered an alternative medication - Seroquel - an anti depressant also commonly used for insomnia which I did not believe was appropriate for me given that I had been taking a medication that was suitable and worked adequately for me. Why add a new and untested medication to a patients regime especially when discontinuing a medication such as Seroquel can pose far, far more serious medical issues than a medication such as Ambien? And why suggest the use of non FDA regulated herbal compounds as alternatives? Nor was I asking for heavy dose opioid medications such as OxyContin, Fentanyl or Dialuad. Just a plain old, small dose sleeping aid. Commonly used by probably 6-7 out of 10 people here in the USA. Now I do understand that medical professionals have significant reservations about prescribing certain medications and I do respect this. And in all fairness and with full disclosure, I did discuss this with the NP and told her that I did not want her to prescribe any medications she was not comfortable prescribing. Afterall, protecting a medical license is paramount and should be considered as well as the ethical and comfort level of the health care provider. However, the inability to sleep and rest properly can quickly become detrimental to ones health and well being. As humans we need to stay well hydrated but are able to withstand lack of food for many days. This is not true with sleep. We need adequate sleep and rest on a daily basis and this lack of sleep can quickly lead to an altered mood and mental state combined with a decreased ability to function properly and safely. Nor is it uncommon to observe individuals present with a sleep deprived psychosis within a short period of 24-36 hours. Yeah, it only takes a short 24 hours without sleep to begin showing signs and symptoms of sleep deprivation. So, one star for this medical office. And not strictly because I did not obtain a prescription with refills, although it may seem that way. Ask a Cancer survivor what type of residual effects they might commonly live with after multiple surgeries and chemotherapy and you may often hear them say that they have difficulties with fatigue and insomnia. Therefore, I can not recommend this office nor am I likely to return. I will sat that the location was relatively convenient and clean and the staff appeared to be knowledgable. And again, with full disclosure, I have not received any type of free treatment from this office nor do I have any relatives employed here. I am just a plain, ole regular person seeking basic and competent healthcare. Do yourself a favor, find any other location for healthcare -In the long run you'll be much better off. Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees. read more

I can only give one star. My 89 year old mother has been a patience of Dr. Eapen for over 5 years. My mother lives with me during the last 10 years due to the onset of dementia. I called to schedule a well visit in June and was given this date in August. We arrived 10 minutes early. When we went into the exam room the nurse asked me for the paperwork. I was not aware of any paperwork. She said it was sent when I scheduled the appointment. I said no problem, I can feel out the paperwork now. She left and a minute later Dr Eapen walked in to tell me I had to reschedule because I didn't do the paperwork. I explained I never received it. She said she was sorry but the paperwork is required and the "Well" visit requires her going over the detailed questionnaire. She only has my mother's visit allotted for a certain amount of time. I am a social worker for the last 20 years and specialize in working with the elderly. I was appalled that we were required to reschedule. I received at lest 3 phone message reminding me of my mother's scheduled appointment today. Not once did they state that "paperwork" was an requirement and if not brought to the visit, rescheduling would be required. i am furious that a medical facility would turn away a elderly patience because of paperwork. More importantly, it was 90 degrees today and my mother is not a new patience! I am so sadden and disappointed! I often see the elderly "get lost in the system" and have to be an advocate for many of my clients. Today was a sad reminder! read more

I contacted this doctor's office several times over a period of a week to inquire about physical examinations that their website says that they offer. The office manager was never 'in' and never returned my calls. The receptionists that are answering the phone were rude when I asked to speak to the office manager and one who had thought she had put me on hold was heard to say, "you don't want to deal with him, he said it is new business". I would not want an office handling my medical records that can't return a phone call or advertises services that they will not provide. I can only hope patients get better care from their doctors than the service provided by the support staff. I would recommend looking elsewhere for medical care. read more

.This morning I woke up with a bad sore throat, fever, congestion, chills, headache, sinus pressure and a bad cough starting that was progressively getting worse as the day went on..I called out sick ..my job is 60 miles away ...it's difficult for me to miss days ...I'm caretaker to my very sick and handicapped mom ...Having me get sick is very difficult on her...she relies on me...I called the office early in the am and asked if I could come in today ...I spoke to AnnMarie and she told me I could not go the office no matter how bad I felt ..they go strictly by appt. I expressed that I really feel bad and just maybe if it's the flu I can get tamiflu prescribed in time ...she told me if I wasn't happy with the office policy I could go elsewhere!!! But I was not getting there today...She was outright cold and uncaring ...nasty ...I was really disgusted and asked to have the doctor please call me ....which he did and agreed for me to go to the office today! Ok here's the kicker....the girl called me back and i get an appt. for today ...I go and am told that I'm only there to get swabbed to check for the flu and I cannot see the doctor who by the way was sitting in an empty office on his lap top a room over from where I was put.. and only 2 other patients in the waiting room ...it wasn't packed! I really felt weak and sick ..I asked if the doctor could see me for just a few mins ...btw my BP was 158/100 and I had a temperature....and I said I don't feel good!! I was told sorry we can't help you ....and call back after 7pm tonight to see if MAYBE I can get an appt for tomorrow but there were no guarantees!! Honestly I can't believe how I was treated today IN THERE and I will never go back there! It's a cold uncaring staff and office ....a walk in Doctor is by far better and more compassionate than these people ...I rate them negative stars!!! read more
