    Our check

We were seated inside as we were told that outside had a wait time that couldn't be demented. Our server took awhile to show up. We had to go back to the hostess to ask if they could get our server. Turns out it was a bartender which was odd as we were not right next to the bar. Anyway, server was miles. He was polite and took our order when he got there. All orders were correct. Food did take awhile. Could also hear the kitchen yelling out orders and saying that they needed things on the fly etc. Restaurant talk. I'm sure sitting outside would've been nicer but no idea how long the wait was. The pepperoni flatbread was good but really spicy. Lobster bisque was excellent. Rest of the food was ok but not really spectacular. Don't think we will be back though.

Review 2, went back for Sunday brunch when parking is free on the street. It was wonderful very limited brunch menu of only four items but the whole menu is otherwise available . Return to the bacon and eggs and the granola yogurt. Bacon is heavily candied but tastes great. The potatoes and eggs are uneventful but filling. The granola and fruit is fresh and fun. We share the bottle of prosecco with orange juice, and overall was a wonderful brunch. Service was exceptional, Madison. So two successful visits.

    Curry bowl - delicious

I have visited the Lakehouse twice recently. On both visits, we were seated after a short wait. While we waited, I played cornhole outside. The location of the restaurant on the Cuyahoga River on the east bank of the flats makes it a destination. On my first visit, I was with coworkers for lunch. Our server was fast and friendly, but we had some trouble being seated due to their 'policy'. After we were seated, given menus, and drink requests were taken, I decided to request the curry bowl. While we waited, I walked around the flats. A while later, our food was delivered. My supervisor requested walleye and my coworker requested a veggie sandwich with fries. The fries were served shoestring style and they were cold. My boss said his walleye was excellent. My corworker said her veggie sandwich was delicious and it was huge. My curry bowl was excellent. On my next visit, I felt like I should request the curry bowl again, so I did. Again, it was delicious. I really love curry flavors and it wasn't spicy. Definitely recommend.

We stopped in for dinner and were definitely impressed. There are great views of the river from some tables. We ordered their Tinga chicken bowls and I was honestly surprised at how tasty it was. I wasn't all that hungry but I cleaned my plate because it was so delicious. Just the perfect hint of spice but not too spicy. Food was hot and fresh, chicken was seasoned perfectly. I had a cocktail which was also mixed very well. Their desserts looked great but was too full to try one. Highly recommend!

Beautiful view of the water. The service was excellent. I had the walleye. It was very good but a smaller portion than I imagined. I tried the Parmesan chicken and it was very underseasoned. The appetizers were good. The hummus tasted like hummus. The spicy shrimp had excellent flavor. They have a full bar and outdoor seating. It's a very nice place to enjoy with a group.

Five stars all day long except don't bother with the tendy $3 shot when a freighter goes by. Its all sugary with a sniff of alcohol.

This is a popular place. Great location, fun atmosphere, prompt service. Food was good but overpriced for the quantity, especially the salmon. The sides - fries and coleslaw - were tasty but kind of basic.

Great experience we had a server named Sarah and one of the person sadly I don't remember his name. But Sarah was super sweet and brought all of our food out in a timely and great manner. We have no complaints. The shrimp and fries platter came with another side I subbed it for veggies and it was good! I had asparagus which was a nice balance we also had the chicken tenders and fries it was really good. The salad with salmon was seasoned well and cooked well also. The bread also came out nice and hot the butter was super good my only complaint is not having small plates brought to the table but other than that everything was great and the resturant was decorated beautifully

Pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our visit to The Lakehouse! Hubby and I had ticket to a nearby event, so we were looking for somewhere to chill and grab a bite to eat, beforehand, on a Friday evening. We had a reservation for dinner, but arrived during Happy Hour and decided to sit at the bar. Bartender Michael, was attentive and friendly. We ordered wings, firecracker shrimp, flatbread, fries, beer and a margarita flight. The flight was perfect, 4 different margarita flavors, traditional, strawberry, pineapple and peach, yum! The wings, shrimp (served on top of asian inspired mixed greens), flatbread and fries were plentiful cooked perfectly. We had plenty leftovers to take home. The taste, service and price point were spot on, we'll be back!

It was busy without seeming crowded. The space was spacious, well decorated, unique and made good use of space. The bathrooms downstairs were artsy and in good taste! Menu was kind of limited but I have a feeling they try new things all the time so it was exciting to pick from. Too bad they ran out of some things when we went. I ordered the fried chicken dish which was fried to perfection, well seasoned and paired interestingly with pickled veggies. The portion was tiny but on par with something I would expect in a place like this. I also ordered 2 oysters for $9 which were the tiniest oysters I've ever seen. Sure, they were good but I would not get them again. My girlfriend ordered a canned non-alcoholic drink for $6 (way too expensive for a soda!) and the brussell sprouts. They were good but there was only 4 of them! Our server gave off a "I'm too cool for this gig" and dismissed my order when I asked for the chicken. He recommended the lamb which uh, was almost 3x as expensive as the chicken and not something I wanted as a light late dinner after a show... My friend's SIL worked here so she was warm, welcoming and gave us a great seat. So yeah, it's not the best restaurant in Cleveland or anything but there is something to the hype and if I do get the chance, the brunch looks amazing!

We arrived to be greeted by an exemplary young man serving as the valet. He was exceedingly pleasant and personable. I appreciated his marvelous attitude toward his job and our service. Shortly thereafter, a pleasant gentleman by the name of Ihab introduced himself as our server for the evening. He immediately filled our water, identified the various menus at the table, and took our drink orders. A while later our beverages arrived, he answered several questions and explained the evenings specials. I ordered the Grilled Avocado followed by Broiled Oysters "Rocco". My wife ordered the Potato Gnocchi with crab & lobster. We followed our meal with excellent coffee and a good Pot de Creme. In conclusion... the noise problem that so plagued us the first visit seemed to have been addressed. It was now more reasonable. Our server was a pleasant enough young man but he appeared spread thin. He was continually distracted by his many other tables. It was a bit inconvenient. Finally, the menu was respectable but predictable. There was nothing extraordinary about it.

After waiting about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from anyone, I decided to at least check out the restroom while I waited... and that's when everything went downhill. The floors were extremely sticky--every step literally felt like my shoes were pulling off the ground. It didn't feel clean at all. As I got closer to the restroom area, there was a strong smell of what I can only describe as wet, moldy rags. The bathroom itself was dark, oddly designed, and just gave an overall uncomfortable vibe. What made it worse is that the place wasn't even busy--there was only one table and a couple people at the bar. So the lack of service and cleanliness really stood out. By the time I walked back to the bar, I had already made up my mind. No one had still acknowledged me, and based on the condition of the place, I wasn't willing to take a chance on the food. I grabbed my things and left. Later on, I mentioned it at another restaurant and was told this place is known for poor food quality and lack of authenticity--which honestly aligned with what I experienced just from being inside. I can't speak on the food since I didn't stay, but based on cleanliness, smell, and service alone, I would not recommend this spot. It gave the impression that basic upkeep isn't a priority, and that's not something I'm willing to overlook.

It was good, but not something I'd order again for the price. 5 "ok" sugared bacon. The presentation was cute and the blueberry preserves were tasty. The sliced baguette toast was way too hard (break a tooth hard). My Florentine Benedict was cooked perfect,y. I opted for the fruit instead of the potatoes. I didn't realize it would be a $4.00 add on, but it was fresh and all the fruit was perfect. Others had the chicken and waffles, with a side of blueberry sausage, a smash burger and various yummy cocktails. My pomegranate mimosa was delicious and the plump blackberry was scrumptious. On our way there, the bridge went up to allow a barge through, which delayed us. We immediately tried calling the restaurant three times to let them know we would be running late, but no one answered. We arrived at 8:14, apologized for being late, and asked if our reservation could still be honored. The hostess said yes, but then told us that the patio was full and that there would be about a 30-minute wait. We were given the option of sitting at the bar or waiting for an indoor table. We asked if we could wait at the bar next door while we waited, but were told no. At that point, we were willing to wait 30 minutes. However, while waiting, I asked for clarification about the outdoor seating and was told that the patio was actually first come, first served. This was extremely confusing and frustrating. We did not simply request outdoor seating -- we made a reservation specifically for an outdoor table. If the patio is first come, first served, why are customers able to make reservations for outdoor tables? We were ultimately not seated until 9:20 PM -- an hour and 20 minutes after our reservation time. I had to approach the host three separate times to ask for updates because no one was proactively communicating with us. At no point were we given an accurate expectation of how long we would actually be waiting. If we had been told upfront that our 8:00 PM reservation would result in an 80-minute wait, we absolutely would not have stayed. When we were finally seated, our waitress, Maddie, was wonderful. She was incredibly kind and attentive, and we really enjoyed having her as our server. The food was also good. Unfortunately, by the time we were seated, we had completely missed the sunset we had specifically planned our evening around. What was especially disappointing was that no one from management ever acknowledged or apologized for the excessive wait. An 80-minute delay for a reservation is not a minor inconvenience, especially when the reservation was specifically for outdoor seating. Some communication and accountability would have gone a long way. To make matters worse, there were field mice running around the patio while we were eating, which was another unpleasant part of the experience. Overall, the food and our waitress were good, but the way our reservation was handled was extremely disappointing. Between not honoring our reserved outdoor table, being given conflicting information about how the patio works, having to repeatedly ask for updates, waiting 80 minutes, and receiving no accountability from management, this is not the level of service I would expect. Unfortunately, the experience has left us with little reason to return.
