I wished I would have reviewed Yelp reviews before booking our e-bikes. First- the e-bikes themselves were subpar. I've rented e-bikes on two previous occasions and these bikes weren't maintained like the others and had less speed. Second, the staff was only somewhat helpful, definitely not over-the-top helpful or insightful. In my opinion the problem is that OMA is a jack of all trades. That is they're a hotel, a jeep tour operator, and e-bike rental (among, I assume, other things). Thus the staff person that assisted was (I believe) a hotel front desk clerk versus someone that's knows and is into bikes. If renting e-bikes and I assume jeeps I'd consider you look elsewhere. Had a great experience with Ouray Mountain Adventures! Checkin is at the Twin Peaks hotel office. We reserved online (which is a bit cheaper) so they had all our info and just needed drivers license when we arrived. Was quickly set up with a clean rental jeep and were on our way. Saw other reviews mention the low tire pressure, but that is normal when going off-roading, you don't want them full on the rough roads. Still early in the year, so many passes were not open yet, as the worker said, but we still had fun driving what we could! Million dollar highway, corkscrew pass through red mountains, some of Yankee Boy Basin. Checked out some of the waterfalls around Ouray. Returned that afternoon and a different worker was also very friendly and considerate. Later got to our Airbnb an hour away, and realized I'd left our action camera in the door pocket of the jeep. Called them and Allison was very friendly and understanding, and quickly got ahold of the customers that rented the jeep out already. They said they'd bring the camera to the office the next morning. Shoutout to them for being honest and willing to bring it back! We called that morning and showed up to retrieve our camera, and Kate was working that day and also very friendly and understanding. Ouray Mountain Adventures - Rental jeep off-roading in mountains - ATV Rentals/Tours Near Me - Ouray, Colorado

Super expensive to rent a Jeep, even for Ouray. Almost $800 for two days rental. Not only that, the Rubicon was a 4 cylinder version that screamed like a pig whenever I needed power. Deceitful: 1 - They charge fees once for interior and once for exterior cleaning but they give us a filthy Jeep: super dusty and with empty ice cream containers and empty water bottles under the seats. 2 - They claim that the rate online is 10% cheaper than in person - in fact is same price. Unsafe: 1 - They don't provide any compressor to inflate tires. Instead they gave us a Jeep with 20PSI (one tire 18PSI) under inflated (normal is 37PSI), even though we had to drive a lot on highway. 2 - One tire was severely used - we spent all our time on Imogene stressed for a flat. Unfriendly Service: - We still never received our $500 deposit back (on top of the $800 rental fee). Fingers crossed. - We we delivered the Jeep they refused to have a walk around to inspect and check-in the Jeep. Hopefully we won't have bad surprises. read more

They were amazing. We reserved a 4 seat RZR 1000 the day before and they were able to accommodate us, they probably had some cancellations because of the rain. They walked through how to use the machine and gave the kids helmets to wear. They had the RZR delivered to the Yankee Boy basin / Imogene Pass staging area before we could get there. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We had a reservation for 2 RZR ATVs the weekend of the 4th of July. On July 2nd, they called and said that they no longer had the ATVs available and would not respect our reservation. Who knows if they rented them to someone else after the fact or their reservation system was so bad that they overbooked. Either way, this company deserves to go out of business. If you make a reservation here, don't count on it being honored. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else! read more

This business is situated in the welcome office of the Twin Peaks Lodge. My wife and I ran into some car trouble during our trip through Colorado. Of course, all the service stations in a 50-mile radius of Ouray are closed on Saturdays and Sundays (side note: except in Telluride, or try Big O Tires in Montrose - they were awesome!). So we had to temporarily rent a car. Guess what? The nearest rental car services are at the airport, 35 miles away in Montrose. And many are closed Saturdays and Sundays. :( Thankfully, Beth (?) and her team at Ouray Mountain Adventures *were* working on a Saturday morning and helped us rent a jeep just so we could freely get around for the day. The process was quick and easy, and the jeep ran great. I filled it up and returned it as clean as a mountain jeep could be. Thanks again, OMA team! read more

I've rented Jeeps from them in the past and was happy with the price and condition of the vehicles. Last week though I had one reserved and when I went to pick it up the Jeep was very dirty inside and the tires were all very worn. One tire was completely bald with gouges in the little bit of tread it did have. I pointed this out and said it wasn't safe to drive. The clerk didn't seem concerned so I asked for a different Jeep and was told none were available. I told her I wouldn't accept the Jeep and she offers to cancel the reservation which they did very quickly and refunded my cc. I know it's the end of the season and they don't want to spend money on the jeeps right before they sell them, but it's not ok to send Jeeps out into the mountains, or roads for that matter, with bald tires. If you rent from them just make sure to do a thorough inspection. read more

Jeff K's review was spot on. The owner, manager is mean, rude, and likes to yell at his customers. The computer for wavers and insurance is old and slow. Instructions are unclear, and it charged my card, but paid for another individual whose name appeared on my policy. Owner refused to address the issue, pushed me away from the computer, and it said that it was my problem to fix it. Couldn't figure out how since the computer locked me out. The owner then loudly refused to rent to me because of the errors on the policy. Chased me out of his office calling me dumb, saying that I had a bad attitude because of the computer error. Another operator for a Jeep tour picking up his group heard the exchange apologized to us for the rude treatment. Owner/manager said he would cancel the charge. Now I am forced to challenge the charge with visa. Don't really trust this guy. Many better choices in town. Ouray is a great town with many friendly people. He will not ruin our visit! Poor communication and owner's short temper ruins the day We reserved a 2 person Polaris RZR side-by-side with Ouray Mountain Adventures. We've been talking about renting one and driving Engineer Pass over to Lake City for years. We were really looking forward to this fun adventure! We were told to be at the office at 8:30. Okay, no problem. We arrived at the office right at 8:30. We knew we had to purchase insurance for the rental, but they wanted us to use an old desktop computer using very old Microsoft XP operating system. Microsoft has not supported XP since 2014, so there is no updated security software to protect your credit card number from hackers. We asked if we could pay using the system they were using for their hotel check-ins (Verafone, I think) since it is far newer and better protects your credit card information. The answer from the owner was to buy it through this ancient computer, leaving our credit card number at risk, or don't rent. We discussed it and decided to go for it since we were really looking forward to this and Chase Bank had been very good about our stolen credit card number in the past. Next we had to sign the contract. As I was reading the contract before signing, the employee told us we had to drive to the trailhead to meet the owner with the RZR on a trailer. We had not been told this prior and it was of great concern to us. We've never had to drive our private vehicle from the tour company's office to their tour location before. We've got a ridiculously expensive BMW motorcycle and I wasn't about to just leave it by the side of the road at the trailhead (we rode by the trailhead an hour later and it was packed with construction equipment from nearby road repairs and quite a lot of trucks with long trailers parked haphazardly in every direction. There's no way we would have found a safe place to park our motorcycle for the day!). We would not have rented had we known this. As this conversation was happening, the owner poked his head in the door and loudly said something to the effect of "you're not even ready yet!" and turned around and stormed back to his truck with trailer and our rental RZR. I followed him out the door because I thought we could catch a ride with him since he's going there anyway and he had a big 4-door truck. As he watched me walking quickly towards him, he put his truck into drive to drive away. He didn't want to talk. I got in front of the truck, put my hands on the hood so he wouldn't actually drive away and talked to him through the side window. I told him that we were surprised to find that we had to meet him at the trailhead, and that this had not been communicated to us. "You're late!" he yelled at me. I told him he was the one that told us what time to be there. Before I could ask if we could ride with him to the trailhead, he snapped at me; "I'm not renting to you! I'm tearing up your contract" He then slammed the truck into park, stormed into the office yelling across the room to his employees; "I'm not renting to them! Tear up their contract" He then stormed back to his truck and drove away in a huff. Then the staff couldn't refund us our money! They said he had to do it, then they just ignored us as we protested. The owner has no patience, has a short, violent temper and has no concept of customer service. We won't rent there again, won't stay at the hotel and we encourage you to do the same. read more

This is the rental place located inside the Twin Hotel on the south end of Ouray. The staff is amazing. Rachel was so nice and met our needs for our Jeep Rental. She also answered my wife's many trail questions and even offered some amazing routes. Her suggestions got us to see the most amazing part of Colorado and still have the Jeep back for the day. There really is no down side. There are plenty of rentals in the area but after I booked I noticed that these guys were also the cheapest for the Jeeps. And they have brand new equipment. I think the rental I drove had 1600 miles on it. Not too bad. Pass this place on to your friends and the best part is staying at the hotel. Very clean and great!! read more

We had a reservation for 2 Razors. Prepaid and confirmed via email and confirmed via our credit card statement. When we checked in the morning of our rental the man behind the counter, who according to the reservationist, is the owner, he had the audacity to blatantly lie that we didn't have a reservation and even while providing multiple forms of proof finally admitted that he sent our rented razors with a different party and was hesitant to provide a full refund blaming us for his errors!!! As my wife was asking how he was going to fix this issue that he created he said "there's nothing I can do. Do you want me to shit out the ATVs? Is that what you want?" He was extremely rude. He showed an absolute disrespect for himself, for his company and was a total embarrassment to the Twin Peaks Lodge. He clearly does not know how to run and operate a business and I would strongly encourage any future renter to send your business to the other ATV rental outfits in Ouray. read more

DO NOT RENT from Ouray Mountain Adventures. During our visit in July, we rented a Jeep Rubicon from Ouray Mountain Adventures. When we picked up the Rubicon there was a light flashing on the dash indicating locker malfunction. We returned to the rental place to ask about the light. We were told by the employee at the desk that they knew the light was on and it did not affect the function of the Jeep. We specifically asked if the lockers would work and were told they would. After taking the Jeep to the trails, we confirmed that the lockers were not working. When we returned the Jeep the next day, we were greeted by the owner, Ryan. When asked about the lockers, he stated that he knew the lockers did not work because they had been disabled. He stated they were disabled on all the Rubicons he rents. Advertising a Jeep as a Rubicon, and disabling the lockers is false advertisement. When we told him, we had specifically asked about this, he stated that was not his problem and he could not control what the employee told us.After implying we were lying, he then offered us a $25 refund. We told him we were unsatisfied with our experience and would choose another rental place in the future. He was unconcerned with our experience and said "that's fine" and walked off. He did not issue the refund and I had to call and request it again to get him to issue the refund. read more

The service was terrible. We were told by staff that all the trails were open. when we got up to the trails, they were all snowed in. We rented a Razor for a full day and got all the riding in in about 2 hours. The 4 wheel drive on the Razor didn't work either. Terrible experience...I suggest going other places and avoid this all together read more

What an awesome time! We did a full day jeep rental and toured the countryside between Ouray and Telluride. Because of the time of year (May), a number of the trails were still in accessible, but we got to enjoy gorgeous views and great weather in the areas we drove. The owner and staff were awesome, and worked with us when we were running late coming from the Durango area. Their recommendations of the trails to use were spot on, and helped make for a wonderful experience. We will be back. read more

We reserved two 4 seater RZRs for two days. We had a fantastic time on the Alpine Loop. I've experienced the loop a couple of times on dirt bikes and the RZRs are the way to go. Ouray Mountain Adventures staff was very helpful and easy to work with. We made some changes to our reservations due to weather and they accommodated us with no problem. I can't recommend this trip enough and booking through Ouray Mountain Adventures for your UTV. You can drive the UTV in some of the towns but not Ouray or Telluride. Make sure you know each town's laws. Thank you to Ryan for taking great care of us! We had a blast, we got some awesome pictures on Imogene and Engineer. We will use these guys again! read more
