My family has been coming to Big Sky for 20+ years. We've been regulars at many of the restaurants around and make a point to stop by Ousel & Spur every trip but unfortunately the service at the front has gotten so bad, we won't return again. The server and the pizza were fine. When we were being seated, the person taking us to our table moved on to seat another table while our group came in from outside (there's no room to wait inside) and as my 7-year old son followed him, he snapped at my son. When my husband and I asked what the problem was, he said he's no longer seating us and rudely said we need to "step back." I told him he didn't need to be rude but was dismissed. Upon leaving, I asked for the manager to share the feedback and it was the same young man who had seated us. I explained that I didn't appreciate how rude he was to my family and my son, and he dismissed me, argued and raised his voice at me, and then turned away to speak to someone else. At no point did I raise my voice or do anything more than say it wasn't ok, yet he responded with such disdain and disrespect, I'm appalled. It was a bit like speaking with someone that has no sense of decency or values. He should not be in a management position. And I can say for certain we'll never be back to Ousel & Spur, nor will any of our guests who visit us in Big Sky. read more

Convenient location beside the Marriott. We had beet salad and meatballs as shareable. They were excellent. Perfect dinner for a cold night.

We had spent three days in Yellowstone, and had come to Big Sky for an overnight before heading towards Bozeman airport in the morning. Big Sky has a very walkable city center with lots of little stores and restaurants. The night we arrived, they were having an outdoor music festival, so it was quite busy. We put our name on the waitlist at the restaurant, and they text you when your table is ready so you can leave the restaurant and do some shopping while you're waiting. The restaurant itself is very loud inside, so it's hard to hold a conversation. The food itself was good, and we were grateful for the air-conditioning, so overall it was a good stop. read more

Delicious pizza in Big Sky. The salsiccia was absolutely delicious. Like it looks like a simple pizza but once it hits your taste buds - wow. Kid liked his cheese pizza. He's hard to please. The best meal I had in Big Sky! Lovely intimate little pizza place where you can see people spinning pizza dough in the kitchen! The menu was super creative with things I hadn't seen on a pizza menu before (elk sausage, pineapple puree, etc). I got the Montanan (obvi had to try the elk sausage and it was all delicious!!!) and my coworkers got custom pizzas. I wasn't a fan of the white sauce pizza but I also just like a good old marinara. The "thin crust" also wasn't a true thin crust imo but still delicious! We got a cesar salad to share which was so good! The beer selection was okay but the server clearly had no experience or knowledge with the alcohols and was not helpful in general. But overall a lovely meal and great experience and the personal sizes were generous so we even covered lunch the next day! read more

This place has a very nice outdoor seating area and view (although somewhat small). Our server Claire was informative, attentive, and had good energy. My only disappointment was they didn't have any local Lagers on tap. So I settled for the Peroni, but then the server recommended the Cream Ale from Beehive Basin in town and it was much better. We had mixed reviews of the pizza - I enjoyed the Montanan (the chips were a nice crunchy addition, but they weren't anything special themselves). My wife did not enjoy her customized Hawaiian with red sauce, mostly because of the pork belly being way too tough, and the onions not to her liking. . read more

No complaints. Great service, attentive, friendly and helpful with choices on the eclectic assortment of pizzas. Everyone loved what they got but even the medium 12" is a lot of pizza for one person. Went to Ousel & Spur to celebrate a birthday this last weekend while we were out skiing in Big Sky! All things considered, it was a decent meal but we'd asked for a table of 12, were notified early that it was ready, arrived on time and then we were seated separately. That was a bit frustrating - eventually we were moved to the same table but would've hoped that the text promise would've been fulfilled. The drinks were decent! Range of prices on the cocktails from $13-$18. The pizza had a good amount of ingredients on them and could be customized but ultimately, the cheese was a bit too thick and the crust was flatter, thicker and not as enjoyable. We had asked for some chili oil and served Calabrian chili paste for an additional $4 that we discovered on the bill. I enjoyed the wild mushroom pizza because there were a good amount of mushroom varieties; the white was too ricotta heavy for me and a bit monotonous. The Caesar salad looked amazing but lacked some dressing, we asked for some more which helped. We celebrated a birthday so we requested a dessert with candles - incredible brownie with ice cream and pretzels. We order burrata and that was my favorite appetizer of the evening. Great jam, cheese and bread. You can tell that this place is popular in Big Sky. The restaurant was busy and lively. It's a decent option for the area! read more

Here with family (8 of us) and we were able to make reservations though we were told in advance we would be 4 to a table. Small place but great pizza and drinks!! Plus the service was wonderful as well - Brian took care of us and was prompt and friendly as he put up with the humor of our family. Started with a variety of drinks and they were all good. Note that the spicy margarita IS spicy! We are pizza purists and got three awesome pepperoni pizzas and my niece branched out and tried the white chicken pizza and really liked it. Visited this restaurant for dinner and was happy we did. The host found us a table but if you are thinking about eating here call for reservations. Our waitress was very nice and friendly and efficient. She was Quick to bring us our drinks and take our order. We shared a pizza with elk sausage and man was it good. The food is decent. The staff looked miserable. And the woman at the front, Jen is atrocious. Rude, everything makes her bothersome. Our waiter John was nice, he was definitely agitated at the beginning of our dinner, but he did relax once my mom and I were talking to him a little bit. He made good cocktails. The pizza was OK. We were so hungry that when the restaurant offered to remake it, I genuinely didn't want to wait. I wouldn't return here just based off of my personal experience. The food isn't that good. What upset me more was the state of the people who worked there. Go to Michaelangelos's. Pinky g's is right across the street and their pizza is much better. Stopped here on a raining evening during the farmers market. We were able to snag a table! Server was great and it was clear the other servers were hard working and doing a great job. The pizzas we had were excellent (BBQ Chicken and Wild Mushroom). As for the caesar salad, it was nicely dressed and mostly crisp lettuce, although there was a lot of dark leafy greens and not enough croutons. read more

Sat us at a table that had a leak when the restaurant was half empty. When we asked to move, no apology just a statement that that is all we can offer you. Actually we could have been offered seats at the small bar (they were all empty). The excuse was all the empty tables were reserved. Again no apologies. We left and the place down the street checked its reservations and concluded correctly that there was no way we would interfere with a 7:30 reservation (we arrived at 5:30). Pizzas here are delicious. New York style in that the crust is thin, cheesy, and a little underbaked. Had 3 different pies for the group with the Montanan being my favorite but all were good. Our server Ryan though was not particularly attentive as we had to flag him down several times. Pizza probably took 45 minutes to come out too. Very relaxed environment perfect for a post skiing meal. Would get the large pizza for a bigger group. read more

We ordered takeout from here on our trip to Big Sky, and overall, we were quite pleased! The person taking the order was very nice and got everything on the order right, including the pizza for my gluten allergy. Pizza was ready quickly, only about 30 mins, and checkout was easy. The husband of mine picked up and said the restaurant looked really nice and had a comfortable looking vibe. We tried a custom with pepperoni and feta, which was apparently delicious. The wild mushroom was a hit, the white pizza everyone loved, the prosciutto with the date jam was the least favorite. My gluten-free pizza was average, but I appreciated the accuracy of the order. The host that sat us was a complete unprofessional. We understand people have Reservations as did we. The food took a little longer than usual. The host came over to us when we had just asked for the check and told us we needed to leave the table because somebody else was waiting for it! Never had this happen to us before. Yelp needs a 0 star option. This has been the worst and the weirdest service I've ever came across in the past 10 years +. The manager, Bradley is HORRIBLE and really mean. I think my family and I caught him on a bad mood swing. I walked in through the wrong door (exit not the entrance) Bradley the manager was specifically very offended by it and made sure to let everyone know that I was not going to be allowed in anymore. He called me out in front of everyone. It was unprofessional, uncalled for, shocking and WEIRD. I actually thought he might have confused me with someone because I could not imagine someone speaking to me like this in front of my two little kids' and husband for NO reason except for walking in the wrong door. Feels like there's no real management here except a mean, weird boy at the front. I've never written a negative review in my life but I'm making sure to hit every platform with him. families need to stay away from this restaurant. i'm sure the food is amazing and the other employees are great but Bradley is a really bad representation of the town and restaurant. The second time I was there the pizza was half done. Crispy from the top and raw from the bottom. I'm surprise I didn't get sick. Service was bad after Jill, the waitress/hostess emailed me after my first review regarding my post on the pizza. She asked me why I didn't mentioned the half raw pizza when I was there because she isn't a mind reader. She insulted me several times via email and even said I shouldn't vacation there! I am a tourist who stayed at the hotel nextdoor which was at 97% capacity. This is an small town that lives off the tourist. By far the worst customer service experience. How do you turn away earnings from a 25 people because who called ahead accelerate processes but we weren't allowed to stay and spend more??? The most ruthless host that didn't give a shit about bringing business to the restaurant but rather had the neighboring pizza joint Pinky G go above and beyond to host our party. Not sure what was was up with the other experiences, but we had a great server, Claire, who was very personable and attentive. Seating inside is limited, so we had to sit outside and a storm was rolling in which made it a little nerve wrecking hoping to finish before we got soaked. Had a split pizza, half elk sausage and half caramelized onion and mushroom, which was delicious! The potato chip topping on the elk pizza surprisingly made it extra special. Everything was great! We called ahead because we heard there could be a wait, and they were very friendly on the phone and there. We loved the crust - thin, light, and well seasoned and baked, crispy ends and soft inside. They also have a nice drink selection. I loved the featured Australian rose I tried. The ambience is casual and comfortable with some neat artwork - fun for families, couples, and singles. We liked it so much, hopefully we'll have a chance to go back before we leave in a few days. Visiting from out of town on vacation and decided to try this place with our group of friends. We made reservations in advance since we had been hiking all day and definitely did not want to wait! We were promptly seated but the place was bumping so the reservation was the way to go. It took a moment for our order to come out but hey, we get it, everywhere is understaffed and challenged so we had fun catching up and sipping our wine. We ordered the 16" Mushroom Pizza & the Mac & Cheese and shared both family style. If you are a fan of shrooms, get that pizza! It was so so good! Prosciutto, caramelized onions and perfectly cooked!
