We are frequent flyers at Outback and today was a definite disappointment. I as usual ordered the 8oz top sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes and Aussie fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, but my potatoes and fries were cold. I sent them back and when they came back to the table the potatoes were soupy and fries were tough which leads me to believe that they just put it in the Microwave. My husband ordered the coconut shrimp and for a side had the kids Mac n cheese, it was hot in the center but cold on top. Our server was slow and inattentive. So needless to say it will be a while before we step back into the Bloomington IL Outback location. read more

The customer service was excellent! The building is a great too! But the food at Outback Steakhouse has gone down hill! The bread and the steamed vegetables were delicious. But my steak was overcooked and tough as all boots! It was like eating a piece of shoe leather. Also the steak was very salty! Also the prices are expensive! Outback has many good entrees, but what I wanted to talk about was their hamburgers. Hamburgers are not very hard to cook but it seems like most restaurants in Blooming, IL cannot cook a burger to save their lives. First off, I have eaten at Outback for more than 20 years and usually rather enjoy the consistency of the food I receive. About 2 weeks ago, I had the worst experience in Bloomington IL out of all the Outbacks I have visited. Bread was cold and stale - Salad was a little discolored and off - Chicken Tenders and Fries were incredibly salty and came out in disarray. My chopped steak came out sitting on a few onions and mushrooms. They forgot the garlic potatoes and had to ask. About cracked my tooth on hard gravel pieces in the garlic potatoes. Bloom Sauce was extremely salty. No ketchup at the table. Any presentation of the food was lacking. New Owner came to the table and took half off the bill. I have told my fiance there had to be new management. Beware eating here till they figure out how to do it the way Outback normally does it. read more

I visited this location tonight I originally was going to sit at the bar where I usually do. But tonight I brought a friend she requested to sit in booth. So we did our waiter was Tyler he was the most rudest poor customer service person I have every met. I usually every time I come to your place started with drinks. I was rushed non stop to make a drink decision. I was never asked about appetizers. Which I usually always get. He came to the table slammed some bread on my table and ask demand we place are order. I specifically made the comment to him that I always ordered appetizers. By this time I was throughly disappointed with my whole meal process. He took our orders. I did not even eat my meal. Although our wait time was 30-35 mins to be seated our waiter was AWESOME! Once we were seated he came right to our seat, offered new appitzer(chicken bites)-exellcent choice. If i could score a 10 for this place i would! I was hungry for a good meal because i hadnt eaten all day and i wanted a man sized plate of food. It has been years since i had been in the doors and that wont happen again because its going to be a monthly thing now. The manager seated us then the waitress gave great advice on the menu items. I ordered the prime rib which was cooked perfectly to my liking and also seasoned very well with just the right amount of fat for flavor. It come with au jus on the side and horseradish by request. The french fries were crunchy and my french onion soup was to die for. My mom had the chicken breast which was very tender and juicy and it came with all you can eat shrimp (scampi or fried). The waitress came around many times to fill our drinks and ask us if we needed more shrimp. Who doesnt like prompt service and when a manager not only seats you but comes around and asks about your meal, it shows they want your business. This really impressed me. They even open the doors for you...they really do cater to your every need. I highly recommend the outback adventure! read more

My dinner was good and all our steaks were cooked to order however, 3 people at our table ordered dinners with lobster tails and not only were they ALL cold when served but at least 1 of them wasn't even cooked! The wait service was very slow as well. The manager came over and had 4 more fully cooked tails brought over and comped one dessert. Big deal. The service was incredibly slow although they weren't very busy. I ordered prime rib and after waiting for over 1/2 hour they finally told me they didn't have prime rib. I then ordered a filet. It was tender and cooked perfectly but was so over-seasoned it was barely edible. At that point I just wanted to eat and get out of there. Honestly the new location is beautiful. The service was alright and the food was really good. With the new location I was exited that everything would be different. Nope. Everything was still dark and even more claustrophobic than the other location. We have a bigger family and some of my family doesn't fit in the booths. They think they can fit 6 in a booth but there is barely any room for drinks on the table let alone 6 entrees. I like it there a lot but it's always so hot and so closed in everywhere. I've been here a couple of times in the last 10 months and never had bad service even once. I'm not a steak eater but my husband is and always thought his steak and shrimp dinner was very good. I thought my salads and grilled chicken were tasty with yummy sides and our drinks were prompt and refilled. Didn't give 5 stars because once the grilled chicken had small part of it that had gummy parts that I didn't like but the rest was good! I wish I could give them zero stars. I arrived at 11:00am when they opened, eager to order prIme rib for my belated birthday celebration. My parents ordered the prime rib as well. We were told by our server that it wasn't done cooking and would take an hour. We decided we'd order an appetizer and wait. Our appetizer arrived partially overcooked, which they immediately apologized for and fixed. An hour passed and we still didn't have our salads or our prime rib. The salads finally arrived and we were told it would be another half hour for the prime rib. We very reluctantly agreed to wait. 30 minutes pass. 45 minutes pass. Finally our server tells us it's still not done and apologized. We asked to speak with the manager. The cook came out, took the blame and offered us anything else. We said we'd like the prime rib that we'd ordered 2 hours ago. He finally brought it out. I'd ordered it medium and it was still bright red and very bloody, with blood surrounding my mashed potatoes. My mom's cut was extremely fatty and grizzly. They did comp the meal, include free dessert and give us takeaway cards for the future, but that won't matter. We won't be returning. We're still not sure if the server, the cook, or someone else was to blame for the incredibly poor treatment we received. The manager never came to speak with us as we'd requested. We were ignored the large majority of the over 2 hours we were there. As a former server with a business management major, our treatment was not acceptable and the situation was handled terribly. On a previous visit to Outback for dinner around 6pm, I ordered prime rib and was told they'd already sold out. This wasn't my first poor prime rib experience at Outback but it will be my last. If you are looking for prime rib or outstanding restaurant service, do yourself a favor and go anywhere but Outback. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

I've eaten at Outback Steakhouse many times over the years in different location, as well as at this location. In the past I have had a few issues at this location, but they were always resolved quickly and without any attitude or problems. Unfortunately that was not the case when my daughter and I ate there Friday night. The wait was not long and we sat at a table in the bar. The waitress was very nice and friendly, but unfortunately we had one problem after another. We did not mention the stale bread or the seats that were still damp from being wiped down right before we were seated, but when my daughter French onion soup was delivered with a hair on top of the cheese there was no way I was not gong to say something. I got the managers' attention - he was wondering around the front of the restaurant - and he came over and tried to make light of the situation. First he acted like he couldn't see the hair that was literally sitting right on top and then he kind of acted like it was no big deal. The waitress brought us new soups and we placed our order. My daughter got a steak and a crab cake and I got a steak and crab legs. We both got a baked potato. Our potatoes were good, as were my crab legs, but my daughters steak was under cooked and the crab cake was all filler - no crab. She didn't complain about the steak, but I did let our waitress know that she was not happy with the crab cake. She said she would send the manager back over. He never came. When I cut into my steak I found that it was even more under done then my daughters. I let our waitress know and she took it back to be cooked further. The manager brought it back to our table and it looked like a hockey puck it was so over cooked. The manager set it down without any kind of apology and when I told him we were very unhappy with the quality of the food we received he was condescending and rude. Very poor customer service. When he continued to have an attitude with us so I asked for the district managers number and his comment was 'you want the owners too?' I said sure. He came back about ten minutes later gave me the card and told us he comped our meal. I got the feeling the only reason he did that was because I had asked for the district managers number. If he had acted at all like he actually cared about the issues that had occurred and treated us with respect and consideration the whole situation would never have reached the point where I felt like I needed to post this review. I've worked in customer service for over thirty years, including as a district supervisor, and have never experienced such a complete lack of concern over the experience a guest had as I did here. read more

I had asked what he recommended and he looked at me as If I spoke a foreign language. My son's burger from the children's menu was over cooked (black and dry). The bun was so hard on the edges I couldn't break it off. My ribeye could be best described as a "steak patty" which at best was 1/4" thick (over $20) Salad and mashed potatoes were good. I used to love Outback since it is so hard to find a good steak, but lately the salads have gotten smaller, the steaks aren't cooked right and THEN I got the worst steak ever. I always order the New York strip which I like because there is little fat and good flavor. This steak was nothing but fat and grissle. There was literally not even enough meat for a bite. I kept cutting into it looking for somethign to eat and got NOTHING! I had ordered out, so I couldn't even take it back. I haven't been back since. Lonestar Steakhouse has better steaks. read more

I came with my mother and father, they took me out for my first time and at first everything was going great we got seated it did take a while for our server to come to us but when he did he got our drinks immediately. After that it took a while for him to just get our appetizers. We ordered it and that came out pretty fast. After we finished with it, it took a long time for us to just get our soup and salad. We had to remind our server multiple times to get stuff for us, it seemed as if he was busy, so I really didn't want to bug him that much, but you can stop by the table and ask if everything is alright once in a while. We ordered food and it took way to long to come out. We decided to take the food to go because we didn't like how it was going. Many of my friends have told me that Outback Steakhouse is great and I want to believe it so bad but I can't with the way this turned out.
