    Boozy Cherry Limeade
    Marlo J.

We were shopping close by and decided to pop in & have dinner in the bar. We were seated at a booth. The bar area was clean and so were the bathrooms. Our server was Deanna, who was super efficient/knowledgeable & friendly. I had the 6 oz Victorias filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. It was also a great cut of meat. The baked potato and broccoli sides were also very good. For a cocktail I had the boozy cherry limeade which was fruity & delicious but thankfully not way too sweet. Overall we were very happy with the service, cleanliness, food quality and preparation as well as the cocktails! Recommend!

Great experience. I ordered the Outback Sirloin with Aussies Fries and Broccoli. The Sirloin and the Broccoli were good and the Aussies Fries were DELICIOUS. The servers were professional and nice too.

I always enjoy service either from Terri, the bar staff, and the entire wait staff. The cocktails are great, I suggest the boomarita for a lovely array of flavor. Steak is good as always, and the military discount is greatly appreciated!

Typical Outback food. Service depends on the day. To go orders are not always prepared in a timely fashion.

A cozy bar area greets customers if you want to grab a drink while waiting to be seated. They also offer upstairs seating, rounding out a welcoming and highly professional atmosphere that has stood the test of time.   THE FOOD * Bread Service: The bread arrived with a tasty honey, chive, thyme, salt, and pepper butter, which was a nice touch. * Kumamoto Oysters: Ice cold and refreshing. They were complemented with cocktail sauce, watermelon mignonette, and fresh grated horseradish. * Crab Salad Special: Served in a martini glass. It featured cold, chilled crab marinated with tequila, triple sec, and lime, carefully laid on a bed of avocado mousse with an Old Bay-lined rim. Delicious and refreshing during a hot summer evening. * Tri-Color Beet Salad: A roasted beet and citrus salad with whipped ricotta and a pistachio honey vinaigrette that provided rich bites. * New York Strip: Sourced from Allen Brothers in Chicago. A showstopper with excellent crust and beef flavor. We ordered the Au Poivre sauce, which was tasty, but the steak was so good on its own that I ended up using the sauce for my sides! * 14 oz Center Cut Filet: Also sourced from Allen Brothers. Tender as expected with a wonderfully executed crust. * French Bordeaux Wines: We ordered the Chateau Loudenne Medoc and the Chateau De Sales Pomerol. Both were tasty, medium-to-full-bodied, and served as excellent accompaniments to the steaks. * Tuna Special: Nicely seared tuna served over vegetables and udon noodles. * Limoncello Pistachio Tiramisu: Very light and a nice end to the meal. * Kentucky Butter Cake: Served in a cast-iron pot with vanilla ice cream. Yummy and rich.   THE SERVICE Our server, Gene, has been with the restaurant for 8 years and provided exceptional service. He was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, pointing out standout options like the pastrami-dusted bone-in filet and the 45-day aged tomahawk topped with a root beer bourbon bacon compound butter.   OVERALL A great steakhouse experience with a highly professional staff and a kitchen that flawlessly executes high-quality steaks. I had eaten here in the distant past a…read morefew times, and while living nearby in my misspent youth I had occasion to visit the liquor store. But I was wrongly under the impression that they had been taken over by an Italian spot that's really just a stone's throw away. I even had to ask the waitress who realized my mistake and said she wouldn't be insulted if we left. But, interestingly enough, I also knew Renee from that same youth, so I decided to stay. My uncle had wanted Italian food, and there was some on the menu. He selected fettuccini Alfredo with sausage added. I saw pirogi as an app and knew I'd have to order, I also had a cheesesteak. He really enjoyed the pasta and commented on how good the sausage was. He was happy to take home half of it and the side salad that came with it. I was pleasantly surprised by the pirogi, they were the smallest I've ever had but were very tasty. A mild cheese filling with good dough( NOT pasta dough) with some seared to a golden brown. It came with lightly sautéed red onion in a butter sauce, not bad either. My steak sandwich was on the small side but at $9 and coming with good fries, I was fine with that. It was good too, I'd get either again. This is kind of a hybrid I guess, part neighborhood bar(at lunch time we were the only guests in dining room, maybe 6-8 at the bar), part liquor store and part casual dining spot. This Inn also has quite a bit of history. Renee was a great hostess/waitress and it was good to see someone from my past, which I sometimes think was largely hallucinated. I plan on revisiting.....

I ate all of mine but it could easily be for two people or leftovers from the next day. Parking: no issues. It's a huge parking lot so nothing to worry about there. Pricing: very reasonable. For the quality and amount of food, it was appropriate. My only complaint was the heating. It was cold. They had space heaters around but it didn't provide much warmth. I could see people being deterred to stay and eat given the temperature indoors. Certainly I don't think I could bring my wife here because she's sensitive to it being cold. However if you're able to get over room temp..then you'll enjoy this place. I asked about the sangria and they said it's homemade. I didn't get a chance to try but next time I will look forward to that. Highly r

This isn't just a place to eat, it's the kind of old-school establishment that's been around long enough to have stories. You can feel the past in the wood-paneled atmosphere, the classic bar, and the sense that generations of locals have gathered here over good food and long conversations. There's a subtle throwback vibe that hints at Trenton's more colorful eras, the kind of place where, decades ago, important conversations might've happened over steaks and drinks rather than phone calls and emails. It has that timeless, no-frills charm: confident, comfortable, and unapologetically traditional. The food is solid, hearty, and satisfying, classic dishes done right, with portions that don't mess around. Service is professional and respectful, like they've learned over the years that consistency and discretion matter. You're treated well, but without any forced friendliness, just genuine hospitality the old way. If you appreciate historic spots with character, where the walls could probably talk and the traditions still matter, Homestead Restaurant is a must-visit.
