I've gone to primos for years. I decided to get primos catering. We got the deluxe package (basically 4 whole hoagies). We called and confirmed multiple times the order prior to picking it up. We wanted to get Italian, turkey and cheese and chicken cutlet with no prosciutto. Again we confirmed this multiple times. We originally wanted to get the smaller tray that came with three whole sandwiches but our guest list expanded so we had to make our order a bit bigger. This was well 48 hours prior to picking up the tray. When my wife called, the woman was incredibly rude. Eventually we decided to just hang up and try again later hoping to get someone else. The second person we spoke with was quite sweet. They were accommodating but again we confirmed multiple times the sandwiches that we wanted. I went to pick it up on Saturday, they put the tray in front of me and they got our sandwiches wrong. No cutlet was included, instead it was prosciutto with mozzarella and red pepper. My wife can't have the deli meats and we wanted to get the cutlet sandwich so she could eat. The girl at the front desk tried to be accommodating but went back to speak to her manager. The options were get a new sandwich made and get 10% off or leave it and get 10% off the whole catering order. (There was a sign behind them showing a promo that said 10% off now through 2/3. So that was pretty rude of the manager to suggest that since it was already 10% off). I explained that they messed up and it should be included. They refused. So I had to get the sandwich made and pay for it. Absolutely absurd customer service. Oh but don't worry, they gave us 15% of in the end. They even messed up the sides and condiments that were supposed to be included. No hot peppers, no balsamic, no mustard. All of which was printed on the receipt. And again we confirmed multiple times via phone. I suppose this was partially my fault since I trusted they would have got this right and didn't check. Just a horrible excuse for customer service. The poor girl behind the counter was trying but her manager didn't even bother to come out when a customer spending hundreds of dollars is clearly upset with their order. Pathetic. The biggest fumble in sandwich shop history. Somehow every time I come here it tastes worse, portions are smaller, and food is more expensive. This was the premier sandwich shop in the area for almost my entire life and it's sad that they've somehow ruined it. I keep coming back out of nostalgia but I'll never return after today. This place about 15 years ago was the go to place for a sub at the time while I was a resident in Hamilton..Last month while I was back in Hamilton visiting friends I wanted to try the best sub in town but I was very disappointed the whole experience went from I love Primos to I WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. Four generous stars, because we love these sandwiches. We live in Ocean County, and go out of our way if we're in the area. We've been customers of THIS location for 7 years. I love primo hoagies and eat them whenever I am in New Jersey. I was at a baseball game at Princeton and afterwards I went to this glorious hoagie shop to get my favorite hoagie, the chicken Diablo. I had it with onions, oil, and vinegar and it was so flavorful, so hot and spicy, the bread was amazing, it really makes the hoagie. (Went on 10/10/21) Was CRAVING a hoagie all week and decided on Primos for my cheat day meal. Living in central Jersey, I yelped the closet location which was about 25mins away but it was well worth it. I went with the Sharp Italian with hot and sweet peppers, onions, oil, the WORKS. The Sharp Italian had a little kick which was exactly what I was looking for. The bread was fresh, not soggy and held all the toppings together. And with any hoagie you must have some form of chips for the crunch! More than satisfied my week look craving. read more

Ate here for dinner tonight and enjoyed it! I specifically chose to eat here today because of the Primo Perfect Wednesdays deal which gives $2 off any "primo" (AKA medium) hoagie. Initially, I tried ordering online, but the deal didn't seem to be applied to my total, so I just ordered over the phone. I got the roast beef diablo (I love some spicy food!) and it was prepared pretty darn quickly. I wouldn't say the sandwich was life changing or anything, but it was tasty with plenty of roast beef. The hot pepper cheese hit the spot and I enjoyed the hot peppers on the side (importantly, they were sliced up pepperoncinis and not some kind of chili pepper relish). The seeded bread (which I think is what they're known for?) was pretty tasty as well! Overall, not sure when I'll be back, but this is a pretty solid option that I'll definitely keep in mind for when I'm craving a sandwich. read more

I will start by saying they make a great sandwich. However, a big no-no to me is not securing your packaging when sending out orders, especially those done by DoorDash or other services. I've been going at this strip mall for my power smoothies for years and was intrigued by this shop which was next door but I never gave it a go. Fast forward to 2020, I was running out of food options so I took the chance and got their diablo ham and cheese and their own chips. Its the perfect combination with either a soda or juice for lunch. I love what they do with their lettuce as it adds some texture. Their servings are huge and will fill you up. Its not as spicy as I thought but just enough to give a kick. Price is similar to any sandwich place. The prices are high, but so is the size of the sandwich, and they don't skimp on ingredients. The largely high school staff that work the front of the house are generally friendly, if not occasionally overwhelmed. On-line ordering is a bonus.
