Very disappointed in this restaurant, Bad management and bad customer service. Waited 2 whole hours to get nothing but drinks. While bigger groups came in after us were seated, served food and drinks and left before we did while we still got nothing. 1 hour and 45 min. into waiting the manager comes and tells us our order wasn't even made yet while others were being served before us. After waiting much longer we decided to leave and confront the manager, and ended up catching waitresses talking crap, pointing fingers and laughing when they have a job to do. ABSOLUTELY DISRESPECTFUL AND EMBARRASSING when they are at fault. Manager has no control over kitchen and the waitresses. Do not recommend. read more

Three of us came in at opening time for some steaks. We were the only people in the restaurant. We were seated in a booth. The music was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation. We asked to have the music turned down and the lady at the entrance desk fiddled with something and smiled indicating that she had lowered the music. We still couldn't hear each other so, on the third attempt we asked and were told that they were not allowed to change the sound and the music would seem lower when more people came in. At that point we got up and left. We went to a much quieter steakhouse and enjoyed a nice meal. When we drove back by the restaurant two hours later there were no cars. I wonder why. read more

My boyfriend and I were in Las Cruces visiting his grandparents and he felt like eating steak. There are not many choices here compared to what we are used to, being from Los Angeles. We stopped here on our way home. The service is horrible--the bartender, who was also our server and didn't get any of our orders correctly. We waited for almost ten min before he asked us about drinks. We ordered Caesar salads, and he brought them out without the Caesar. That's the whole point of a Caesar salad... You need the caesar smh! We had to ask for bread when he clearly didn't bring any out while he did for the table across from us. I ordered the 12-ounce ribeye and asked for medium-well, and when I got it, it was rare. He took it back, and when it came back, it was well done!!! We paid using the ziosk and waited for a box which he never brought out. So we have to ask another server for a box. He was at the bar on his phone the entire time and didn't pay attention to anything or the people he was supposed to help. I should've checked the ratings on this place before stopping here. I will start with my Steak was cooked well and the gentleman that brought the food to the table was very polite and attentive, besides that I can't say anything positive. I ordered a beer and wasn't offered a mug or glass just in the can ( had I known I wouldn't have ordered it, I can do that at home), was never asked if I wanted another beer or drink, appetizer was burnt (spicy chicken bites), was never offered bread (took bread to the other tables in the area with their drinks), ordered a side of shrimp and had to wait for the 4th shrimp because my actual server dropped one and then he dropped the to go box on the floor and still gave it to us for our to go food. To top it off the only time the server came to the table was to drop something off, never asked if we needed another drink or anything and promptly left. The service was some of the worst I've ever had in Cruces. I have eaten at Outback 3 times in the five years I've lived here, only went this third because I got gifted a gift card, and have been reminded why I don't go to this restaurant every time. read more

Outback always has a consistent product. A reasonably priced steak and a decent cut of meat usually cooked correctly. We always like to have the Aussie fries for an appetizer and then we get vegetables with our steaks. The broccoli is always cooked just right and I like the seasoning. My wife always enjoys the blue cheese chopped salad. I think the ribeye is usually the most consistent cut. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to go to Outback Steakhouse while enjoying a day in Las Cruces. The service was a little slow. When we got our appitizer it was obvious that it had been fried in old oil. It tasted terrible and actually completely killed our appetite for the main course. If they're not changing their oil regularly it really makes you wonder what else they're not cleaning. We ended up talking to a manager and leaving. Not very impressive considering we drove an hour from out of town to eat there. I guess our first visit will be our last. Stay away! We walked in and the place was almost empty. We requested a large table and were told we would have to wait 30 minutes. The only available seating was at the bar but it needed cleaning. The hostess made us feel like she didn't want us there. No customer service skills whatsoever. We walked out. I don't think this restaurant is going to survive. Your basic Outback nationwide is 3-3.5 stars depending on the quality of food and service. It's no Ruth Chris or Mortons. But this location? Absolutely awful. The service was fine. But food quality? It's a step above Pedigree dog food. My steak salad was overcooked and the steak was the size of my 3 yr olds hand. The iceberg lettuce was not fresh, overcooked toddler steak & my husband's ribeye was more like a fatty chuck roast without the flavor. Awful location. Doubt I'll be back to ANY Outback. read more

Two stars because of service. We've been fans of Outback for many years in several states. On our 3rd time here in Las Cruces, the right side of the restaurant was busy. We were seated on the left side. Only one other table was full. After 8 minutes (I looked at my watch), I asked the waitress if we could get some water and someone could take our order. She apologized and said she would send a waiter over right away. Another 10 minutes. No one came by. We got up, walked out and the hostess said "I hope you enjoyed your meal, thanks for coming" I said "we never got waited on, so we're going to Texas Roadhouse" I cant see why we would go back again. read more

Went with husband and son over the weekend. I can't even explain how bad the food was. The steaks had a rancid flavor, my husband thought it might have been a lemon spice of some sort. I was too scared to even continue eating. The Romain on the Caesar salads was brown... the mushrooms appeared and tasted like they were in a brown gravy of some sort. The service was pretty good.
