Just had the worst experience at the outback steakhouse in Lowell. Got there at 6 PM and sat there until 8 PM until our dinners came out and everything was cold The service was so very very slow the people beside us were sleeping. We waited 15 min for drinks and it was a water and a coke nothing special had to ask for place settings. Our waiter would take off and wasn't seen again for a very long time. It wasn't that busy. It was so cold where we sat I should have been sitting out side. We will never go back there. read more

We dined in a couple of weeks ago and I have been meaning to leave a review because we had such a positive experience all around! The waitstaff was so catering, and all of them had a smile. I say that because it seems so rare nowadays to find people like this. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had a sirloin steak and I had the Queensland chicken and shrimp. I was there on Friday, and did a take out order and asked for the bread to be included. Went to the bank to tip the take out girl cash. Asked her if there was bread in bag, she assured me there was. I would have opened the bag there, but people were behind me with their keno cards. I do not live close. So I go home,, no bread,,,,I called and spoke to Ashley who said a manager would call me later, Monica or Hailey, and here we are today Monday and nobody has called me. Disgusting. The food is just so disgusting. I have a feeling most of these food were frozen. This is what I get for going to a chain restaurant. To be fair I usually have a few drinks when I go out so maybe food usually taste a little bit better. But I decided to not drink tonight and nothing tasted good here. The blooming bosom was so salty after a few bites we wanted to send it back. There was nothing special about the wings. I could have gotten it from the frozen section, airfryed it myself and it would have tasted better than this. The only thing good about the burger was the spicy pickles. Located near Crosspoint off the RT 3 connector. Lots of parking, and the movie theater next door. You go in the and the bar is at your 12 and seating left and right. We ordered our usual the kookaburra wing and a few drinks. Also the potato soup is delicious!! The 4 stars we rated is because of the appetizer and drinks. We hardly ever order entrees here. I came here last week since I got gift card as Christmas gift. I did not have any expectation since I did not have good experience last time (~9 years ago). This time it was not that much different other than our server was nice, but that's about it. I will point out few things that I did not particularly like: 1. It took almost 30 minutes before the entrees come out from the time we placed order. 2. Blooming onion was really, really, really dark. I think they used old oil to cook this. (This could be due to cost saving measure.) I thought it was overcooked since it looked very dark, but onion was not cooked well and pretty raw. 3. Pork was pretty tough and not much sauce or gravy on it. Not sure if they want to save money on this. There are a couple of other things, but I will stop here. A few months ago, I had gone to an event where they reintroduced Outback to yelp elites. I definitely wanted to come back and try it for myself. The server was very nice and accommodating and she made excellent suggestions. I ordered the summer special flight and the knockouts were definitely the mango and blackberry margaritas! The bloom petals were a great alternative to the entire awesome blossom onion but I have to say I was disappointed in the flavor. I feel like if the offer different sauces it could really elevate it. My entree was a 6oz center cut sirloin with the unlimited shrimp. Steak was a bit tough and not top quality meat. The fried shrimp was good but the garlic shrimp was just okay. Nothing about this place really made me jump for joy or leave wanting to come back as soon as possible. But on the flip side, nothing about this visit put me off Outback or have a bad night. read more

Whoever the new young manager is really turned things around here. I used to go there every Tuesday, and when I'd choke on my steak no one even blinked an eye. Now, if I so much as sneeze, the young general manager, Scott, comes over to me to ask how I'm doing. He's so attentive! I feel if I ever needed the Heimlich he would be able to provide it. Yesterday, I ordered Outback's "New Spicy Jammin Meatloaf"........it was loaded with salt, mostly filler, and appeared to have been put on the grill. It wasn't spicy at all, nor was it thick as pictured. The slices were totally bland and certainly not worth the $30+ spent for one person......I had to throw out the Meatloaf since it was too salty to eat, as was the "New Tasmanian Chili". This was on the heels of my order last week for a Bone-In Strip Steak......the steak was sinewy and fatty. I doubt I will be ordering from Outback again........$70+ in a week's time and most of the food was inedible and had to be discarded. Shameful!! read more

When ordering takeout, the food is subpar. The order is NEVER ready when their app claims it is. And I don't mean that it's off by a minute or two -- my son waited over 40 minutes longer than the app indicated, and as I write this, it's 23 minutes late, and was told it'll be at least 15 minutes more. There aren't enough parking spots in the takeout area either, so the good news....you get to watch a neat game of chicken as cars rush for open spots! Management doesn't care enough about its guests to fix this dangerous situation, nor do they care enough to tweak the app to show a more realistic time the food can be ready. We go here occasionally and think it's great for the price. Last week there were delays, but the manager brought our food over and apologized which we appreciated. Service is normally good. Downside is that it can be cold anytime the door opens in winter. It's weird as there are so many tables affected, and some customers wore coats including my wife. read more

Horrible! Got a take away order and it was 30+ minutes late from the original time I had requested. Got a sirloin with a baked potato and salad. Well... I received a sweet potato rather than a loaded baked potato and a salad that was 100% brown and rotten. Never again will come back. I swear I think the cook is trying to give me high blood pressure by first over salting all of my food to the point I can't taste anything but salt in my mouth, then adding to that the anger I experienced from a terrible meal that I couldn't eat, then a server who has attitude when I complained! I'm generally not a fan of large chain restos, but I and three business colleagues had a perfectly fine, basically flawless meal at the Lowell Outback. Of particular note was the filet and lobster tail combo, which was served medium rare (done precisely as requested) and with a ramekin of drawn butter for the surprisingly large, fresh-tasting lobster tail. Add a cocktail and a bottle (two, actually) of good red wine, and everyone was happy. The server was attentive without being annoying (and she had lovely eyes and a beautiful smile), our water glasses were always full, the bread kept coming (okay, one of my colleagues has an amazing appetite). Had the worst experience at this location. We were a party of 8; four adults, two kids and two infants. The wait was "30mins for such a large party" except that 30mins turned into 45 and they said they only had one table to fit our size party but when we got out table it was next to another 8 seated table...alrighty then. Waitress was great, got our apps and kids food in and thank goodness we did because then there was some issue in the kitchen. It took over an hour to get our meals. The table next us apparently had been waiting even longer and had several items compt. They manager even spoke to them and apologized, as well as the table behind them. Didn't even look at our table. In fact we had to go get the manager to Speak to her about the long wait. We were smart enough to order dessert to go when we finally got our meals because it took another 40mins to get the dessert. We haven't been to Outback in a while due to a tough steak. We decided to give it another try with a gift certificate. Well, it's still awful! My husband got a 29.00 dollar ribeye steak, perfectly cooked but tough! I had the 10 oz ribeye, ordered it medium rare, sent it back when it came out medium to over cooked. The second steak came out a medium rare this time, but lots of gristle and just a few good pieces that I didn't have to take out of my mouth and spit into my napkin... This place is awful I asked for a medium WELL done steak and I was served a piece of meat practically still alive, the most fatty, uncooked piece of steak I've ever seen. For a $25 steak at OUTBACK at the LEAST I expect my meat to be probably cooked per my request. I personally don't appreciate a half mooing cow being brought back to me when I asked for MEDIUM WELL.
