We arrived around 5 PM and was told a 30-45 minute wait. We decided on sitting at the bar and took less than 5 minutes for our server to start our order-very satisfied with Jimmy as he was on the ball! He did not miss a beat nothing wrong with our drinks and our order and in record time! Highly suggest asking to be seated in his area he serves! The only positive part of the experience was our waitress who was wonderful and worked very hard. The hostess was unfriendly and not helpful and sat us at a table for 4 when our party was of 8. We were told to just push 2 tables together when we were able to inquire. The entire restaurant floors were slick or sticky. The restrooms were dusty and dirty. The server station where pitchers of water and tea were kept had McDonald's food containers sitting next to it. The music in the kitchen was loud and could be heard in the front parts of dining room. As a family who travels frequently and have experienced outback's in various areas as well as this one in the past this did not at all meet the expectation and what we've experienced at other Outback locations. Went in last night, August 23 around 8:30P. They were not very busy. Empty tables everywhere. I stood at the host desk forever waiting for someone to come and seat me, as a couple of different servers walked by me and didn't even acknowledge me. After a bit, a guy got up from a nearby table who had been sitting by himself with his cellphone in hand and turned out he was the host. He had been so not doing his job but rather sitting there on his phone. He didn't even greet me but just said "Want to sit at the bar?" So said, "No, I would like a table. " He didn't like my answer and said "Sit down and I will see if I can find you a table." (The place had little business and empty tables everywhere. I walked out and went across the street to another restaurant to have dinner. They welcomed me and treated me like a valued guest! Outback you failed miserable! This is a better than average Outback. My meal was prepared perfectly and tasted great! Definitely not worth the current Yelp rating of 2.5 stars. Sat at the bar and the service was excellent too. The only thing that disappoints me about Outback is that it seems over time they tweak thEir recipes of some of their classics. I used to love their Caesar dressing, but it's gotten creamier and less "caesary" over time. Same with their wings. They toned down what I used to think was excellent seasoning on their wings. This outback franchise is not as sophisticated as its urban big city counterparts, but it does the job for a late evening meal in Macon. The service is adequate in terms of courtesy and attentiveness, the limited staff are trying their best with everyone. We started off on the wrong footing as the three chicken tortilla soups we ordered were served really cold but our waiter promptly replaced them with hot ones which tasted quite good. The shrimp skewers with garlic and tomato coulis and steamed vegetables were great and on point. The steaks we ordered came in a little overcooked and tough; but the sides of broccoli and mac'n'cheese did not disappoint. All and all, an adequate Outback experience that meets expectations but is nothing special- it does the job while you are on a dining pit stop until you reach the big city! read more

Worst Outback I've ever been to. We waited 20 minutes without anyone even coming to the table. We had to walk back to the hostess desk and she had the manager come over. He was very apologetic, comped our meal but it still didn't make up for how bad the overall experience was. When the waitress did appear, her affect was flat. No greeting, just "are you ready to order?" The food was undercooked and cold. French Fries were disgustingly hard and cold. How is that even possible at 6pm? F O O D We ordered the 12 oz sirloin (medium) with lobster and Mac N Cheese side. The steak was cooked to medium but the outer layer of the steak was poorly seasoned and cooked. It was hard and dry. The lobster was good- good enough to satisfy my craving. Mac N Cheese wasn't very cheesy at all. It didn't taste terrible but it was mediocre at best. It's kind of like eating boiled pasta. I was in town on a business trip and when my co-worker found out I had never been to Outback, it became a must-do for dinner (he also wanted a steak). I got to try a Bloomin' Onion for the first time. Though I know it is just the Outback's version of onion rings it is addicting. To balance the fry, I got the firecracker salmon with mixed veggies. It wasn't anything extraordinary but it wasn't terrible. I had the blackberry sangria for happy hour. It was more juice than anything else. Got takeaway by ordering online. The food was ready quickly, but tasted terrible. The ribs appetizer was dry and had too much breading...the steak and shrimp Alfredo was disgusting. I only was able to eat the protein, but could not get past the slimy and tasteless texture of the pasta and it's sauce. The Outback is another great place to go if you're in the mood for a steak dinner. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Started out with a drink, some fresh bread which kept coming as the dinner progressed. Had the house salad to start which was fine, nothing special. But for everyone involved the main meals were spectacular. I had the 8 oz filet mignon which was just amazing. It came with garlic mash which was also very good. This is a favorite hang out spot for me and 3 friends. Service is always great and food is always perfect. Tonight the manager altered our experience by barking load instructions out of the kitchen. Our server said that he was a traveling manager from Columbus GA. Terrible service from the moment we got in the door until the time we left. Started by being told it was a 20 minute wait. Came back in after 25 mins and was told another 20. I pointed to 3 empty booths and asked if they were available then was seated. The female greeter that's very tall and blonde is absolutely terrible and I've been created better by bill collectors. After being seated, waited another 10 mins for a waiter to notice us. He took our order and then came back about 5 minutes later to ask how we wanted our steaks cooked.... but we didn't order steaks lol. This picture sums up our first hour in this establishment. Bread, no drinks (after we've been seated a good 25 mins) and still waiting after finishing off the bread. Waiter was nice, but it seems it's being run very incompetently and there isn't enough staff to keep up with the demand. I've given a 3 star instead of 1 only because the manager came over to apologize. We tell them we have called ahead and want to be seated before the birthday guest arrived. They asked if we could wait 20 minutes and we said no. Birthday guest catches us being seated. 2 tables parallel with each other but 20 people is a lot. We ordered dinner and they did want to take our order how we were going to pay. My wife and I used to eat at Outback every week in AZ when we first met 20 years ago. Haven't been in quite some time since we moved to Florida. So we stopped in to this one tonight and ordered our favorite dish. Prime Rib split. Marcus, manager on duty visited us and recommended his favorites. He was friendly, engaging and seemed to love what he was doing. He continued to visit us throughout the night and each time was engaging. He is definitely not a table toucher, the kind of manager who ask you how everything is and walks away while your talking. He seemed to enjoy his guests. Very refreshing to meet managers who care!
