Worst steak ever, which says a lot considering this is a steakhouse! Called in order for Curbside Pickup on 3/26/2018. The young lady who took my order over the phone was very friendly and professional. I presume she is the same person who helped me when I walked in to pickup my order and pay--again, very friendly and professional employee. Took my food home, which is five minutes or less away from OS, and sat down to eat. I ordered the 6 oz. sirloin medium-well, with mashed potatoes and garden salad. When I opened the take-out container, immediately I could tell the steak was way, way, way past well-done; it was black and looked tiny, dry and shriveled. I picked the steak up and examined it, thinking "what is this? is this meat? is this a mini hockey puck? maybe a rubber sole from a shoe?" It was less than three-inches in diameter and a half-inch thick. The cook completely sucked the life out of this piece of meat. I checked the meal ticket stapled to the bag, and the ticket was correct "MW" for medium-well. I had such a hard time sawing through the meat with a steak knife, which was only half the problem. Upon tasting it, it was extremely salty, to the point of burning my lips and mouth. I scraped off the thick layer of seasoning, but it didn't help. The next bite was extremely salty as well. I have never tasted anything so salty in my life. How could a steakhouse do such a horrible job preparing a steak of all things. This was tougher than the worst beef jerky--chewing and gnawing, and more chewing and gnawing--my teeth and jaw never worked so hard. The steak was so un-palatable (too hard to cut, too hard to chew, too salty to swallow) that I couldn't eat it. Either the mashed potatoes were salty, or the steak was so salty that the after-taste ruined the flavor of the mashed potatoes. The garden salad was disappointing as well. They seem to chop the cucumber into such small pieces. This salad had three teeny tiny pieces of cucumber, not even enough to make one whole slice of cucumber. Is there is a cucumber shortage I am unaware of? Or are cucumbers more costly than gold? Why be so stingy with the cucumber? There was a 1/4 teaspoon of cucumber, yet more than a 1/4 cup of cheese. Seems their proportions are a bit off. Last but not least, there was no butter packets for the mini loaf of bread. I don't keep butter or dairy at home, so eating the bread without butter was as dry as eating cotton. Not going back to OS. Texas Roadhouse and Lonestar Steakhouse do a much better job all-around. read more

Think this place has declined significantly since it's heyday back in the 90s. Food is overpriced but terrible quality. You're better off staying home. Similar food can be had at Dennys. The appetizer sampler was cheese fries, fried onions, and macaroni bites. All very lackluster. Same thing happened with the sirloin entree and chicken with cheese and bacon. The steak was bland and terrible quality. The chicken tasted bland and from frozen. Service was good. We skipped dessert. Won't be coming back. read more

We keep going to this outback steakhouse, and they are pretty good. Noisy, and the prices aint always that good, but sometimes the weekends can get busy and they really can get slow. I like their steaks, and the blooming onion, man, I love that. We take the whole family there, and they are pretty good with the kids. My wife like some of the seafood dishes, and they can get pricey, but for a special dinner, it's an ok place to go to. It's not I'm gonna be getting a steak at Denny's, and this place is much better than that. So anyway, whatever you are looking for, this place is good for steaks, and when they have their specials, they are pretty good. So I say RECOMMENDED Yup read more

Ask for Joshua A as a server! He was patient and kind with my dad (who can be quite the jokester) he kept our drinks full and made sure our food was enjoyed even as he also seemed to be working behind the bar. He split our bills without making us feel awkward for asking and used my parents gift card and coupon no problem. All the other tables he was serving seemed to be enjoying themselves with him as a server as well. The restaurant was very busy (5pm on a Sunday) and we didn't feel rushed. It was also great to see the entire staff working as an unit. There was a female bartender who was keeping the energy up for the guests sitting at the bar and smiles on the staff members faces. The food was reasonably priced and tasted delicious! read more

I always love going to outback. The food is delicious every time. Steaks are not always cooked perfect, but it does not take long to fix and they give u fresh new sides to eat. The ranch at outback is the best I have ever had and cannot be compared to anything. read more

I was trying to bring a sick friend food and had it timed out perfectly until I sat on hold for 20 min. When I talked with the manger about what happened she gladly helped rush more order through and gave me a discount. I've always been a fan of Outback's and this location was no different. It was 6pm on a saturday night, but the staff did a great job of getting everyone tables in a timely manner. For a national chain, the food here is very good. Our Bloomin' Onion was fantastic as was the french onion soup. Both my husband and I had the steak and here, you get what you pay for. It is a very good 15 dollar steak, but you can tell that the quality is not nearly as good as say a local steakhouse. My sirloin was a bit chewy, but the flavor was good. I also ordered it blue cheese crusted, but unless you really really like blue cheese I'd skip it. They basically drowned my steak in blue cheese to the point that I had to scrape most of it off. But overall, service was great and it really is good food for a bargain. We'll most certainly be back. read more

Hubby and I don't get out much for Saturday evening dinners on the town so we had some high expectations for this dinner to celebrate my birthday. Hubby did his part by alerting the hostess to the fact we were celebrating my birthday because she mentioned it as we were seated. I guess someone forgot to tell our server because he not only dropped the ball on the birthday part of the meal but didn't even offer any coffee or dessert, just basically plopped the bill down without asking if we wanted or needed anything else. In contrast, the other servers were friendly and accommodating to the other patrons. Heather, the manager, came over and smoothed our ruffled feathers on what should have been a special occasion, thankfully. Food-wise, everything from the apps to the steaks and sides were top-notch. Temperature appropriate, well-seasoned and delicious. We look forward to going back in the future...but hopefully will get a different server! read more

If I was just rating the restaurant on the food, it would probably be a three. I had the filet, with scallops, and to my surprise, they were actually pretty decent. I have heard mixed reviews of their steaks so I highly recommend you go with the filet here. The scallops weren't have bad either. Because I have dietary restrictions (see below) I asked that my food be specially prepared with salt and pepper only and no butter. It came exactly how I wanted - and was still good. My boyfriend got the outback burger with cheese and fries. He thought the burger and fries were good but the bun was not the best. We did not have a dessert although the waiter recommended the flourless brownie. Now what brings the rating to a 4 is the EXCELLENT service we received from Scott (and the other wait staff). I recently found out that I have food allergies to gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, and corn. This makes going out difficult. Tonight was my first night attempting to go to a restaurant and it was so enjoyable that I will definitely try it again. First of all, Outback has a gluten free menu (ask for it when you get seated) which only includes menu items which do not have gluten. It also has suggestions for what to order in lieu of certain sides which have gluten in them. It was VERY helpful. Scott was also very helpful when I was ordering. He was patient and provided me with helpful suggestions for things I could have off the menu. He made me feel very comfortable about what I ordered. When the food was brought to our table the server specifically pointed out that the kitchen made my food how I asked. All in all, I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely be going back again. read more

Went in tonight and the service was real good. Our waitress was nice at answering questions. Ordered an 8 oz . Outback special medium rare, and it came medium well. Not even close to medium rare, it was a minute or so short of well done. Flagged her down showed her my steak and how it was ordered. She checked her ticket and saw that it was supposed to be medium rare and offered a new steak. After a little bit of time a new steak was brought out by the manager and I cut into it. It was a little under medium rare but much better attempt than the first one. Maybe the steak should have been taken off the bill or the drinks or some other discount. I don't blame the waitress for this mistake, the cooks who work in the back should know how a medium rare steak feels by touch and not put up the wrong steak on the pass. The person running the pass should be more aware of what steaks are leaving the kitchen. read more

I tried the curbside takeout twice both times with the same experience. Last time was Friday night at 8:30pm (8/11). I ordered online and was told the pickup would be 40 min later so no problem. I showed up 40 min later to sit in my car for 13 min until I got out of my car to go in to see what is going on. I'm given a bag of my food and I ask "was this sitting her or was it just done and is hot" I was told it was hot and just got done. I get in my car, open the container to find a steak that is just barely warm (not hot or even close). The steak was cooked correctly and the sides were ok. read more

I haven't been to Outback in over 10 years and I think it might be that long again until I'm ready to venture back. We took my son for his 9th birthday because he asked to try a bloomin onion. Ours was a little over cooked, kind of too brown and a bit greasy and my son didn't like it at all. I've loved them in the past but not this time...sigh. My son ordered the ribs which were very tasty, but my husband and I split a porterhouse steak with blue cheese crumbles on top and it was lackluster at best. It was cooked to our liking - medium rare, but the meat was a bit grissely and didn't have much flavor and there was way too much blue cheese on top. It completely overwhelmed the dish. Our server was nice and the staff brought my son a free dessert and sang which he loved. Over all I wasn't that impressed and there are plenty of other awesome steakhouses in the Naperville area to spend my hard earned money at. Sorry Outback. read more

Recently went back to Outback, and it was not a real good experience. We go here a lot and I was very surprised at the length it took to get our meals and to top it off because we had to wait so long we asked for containers because my sister could not wait any longer. They got my order wrong. I think they gave me the wrong cut of meat and was not cooked the way I had ordered. Very nice server but I was not real happy with the food. I came in really excited to celebrate my brothers birthday. We came in with having reservations for 8:30pm but for some reason we were made to wait. No problem we said, after waiting 15 mins we were escorted to our seats. We then noticed that the restaurant was almost empty aside from 2 other couples that were already eating. Why were we made to wait with such a lack of a rush. After putting that aside we took our seats and order our drinks our server "Insheera" completely ignored my wife when she was trying to order a piña colada and the waitress just walked off. When she returned about 30 mins later with our drinks she then took our orders. We then waited with baited breath for our food to arrive our appetizer arrived with normal timing and our family enjoyed it. After we finished that it took an hour and ten mins for our food to arrive our waitress did show a little redemption by being honest and admitting that she forgot to put our orders in after one of the managers had heard our complaint. The manager informed us that we would revive a discount on the checks for our group and we were offered soup or salad on the house. After eating and ordering dessert for the birthday boy the waitress came with a trio of others to sing happy birthday. Sadly only one waitress knew the words and the other 2 just smiled awkwardly. Upon receiving our checks we notice that we received no discount an were charged full price for the meal and poor service. After the manager Kathy came to assist us apologizing for the mishap and assuring us that it will not happen if we return and discounting our meal completely. Over all the food tonight was ok at best and the service was poor but after speaking with Kathy I am interested in seeing if the day shift can provide a better experience. read more

Food was adequate and the guests that were with us was pleased. The coconut shrimp, very good. Was surprised when they dropped the AARP discount from 15% to 10% but particularly this time they would only accept one couple's card @ 10%, per table. To compensate, I usually tip at 20%, so left only a 10% tip. What was even more displeasing was that the waiter asked if I was a veteran, which I served during the Vietnam War. Our server was nice, but everything else was terrible. The host in particular was incredibly rude! Don't you want the person greeting all of your guests to be friendly and accommodating? She was quite the opposite. If management is reading this - we were there Saturday morning 8/19/17 at 11:30am. When we got there, there was 1 other table currently in the restaurant. My husband and I have twins, and had our stroller. We try to go out when restaurants are not busy so we don't take up too much room. When we asked if there was a table where we could push the stroller beside it, she gave us a look like "are you serious?" There were plenty of options, and she offered for us to stuff the stroller between two tiny tables, probably the most uncomfortable and inconvenient option. She didn't want us to sit at one of the larger tables (although we ate and left and maybe 6 tables total came in. The large tables were never touched). She finally reluctantly agreed to let us sit in a booth in the corner. The steaks with our meals were pretty terrible...very dry. I ordered mine medium rare. It was cooked medium well. Then when we were leaving, 3 people, including the rude hostess, were standing at the host stand talking. They watched me as I struggled to open the two sets of doors while pushing a double stroller (my husband was paying the bill, one of the babies was getting a little fussy, so I was going out to the car early). No one helped open the doors at all. I suggest a new host. Why do you want someone so rude at the front door who doesn't smile and can't even open a door for a woman with two babies? read more

I ordered the Cobb Salad with high expectations, since it was labeled an "Aussie Favorite". It came out with red onion and cucumber with iceberg lettuce. It did not look like a typical Cobb Salad. I decided to wait until the waitress came back to ask and then the manager approached the table. I asked if that was the Cobb Salad and she replied "yes, that's what it looks like". My boyfriend inquired why there was no bacon or egg and she said that's what it looked like. I replied I would just eat the salad when the waitress approached the table. I asked her if what I had was the Cobb Salad and she replied that it wasn't and she would go get me a new one. The waitress was the best thing out of my whole experience. She was pleasant and helpful. She brought out the correct salad, promptly. However, the Cobb Salad was far below my expectations and I was highly disappointed. Went to outback Tuesday night. Looking for low carb alternatives. Well is was crowded extremely. The front desk says 10-20 minute wait. It's only me and my wife. We get the electronic notifier from the front desk and sit with 4 other groups waiting. Well we say and we watch 5 groups go in before us with more that 4 people per group. What? We're staring at a booth wide open. But they won't seat us. I guess management feels they will get more money from 4 people so screw a couple that was here first. The guy at the front desk pretends he doesn't know how long we've been waiting. Which I don't blame him clearly it's management. When my wife questions him he gives a slick response. "Well we just can't find people to leave!" My response. "Sure u can we'll leave!" Never again will I go to not only that outback but any other. We went to Texas Roadhouse on 59 and had great food and service! Lost a customer with both of us over simple serving etiquette. read more

I haven't been to outback in forever because they closed to one near my house, so I wasn't sure really what to expect. our waitress was Kayla, and she was amazing. We went to Outback in Naperville on July 3, 2014 because we had a gift card from our son. We have dined here many times and have always been satisfied with the food. This time was very different. My husband had the porterhouse steak and our son had the ribs. Their meals were good. I ordered the prime rib, medium rare and grilled. It arrived medium well. The waiter took the meal to replace it and came back to tell me there was no more medium rare prime rib. I then ordered a filet, medium rare. I was presented with a 1/4" thick piece of meat which in no way resembled a filet. When I complained to the manager he said there are different cuts of filet, which was ridiculous. I wish I had taken a picture of what I was served. It looked like a minute steak. I sent that back too and told the manager I didn't want anything. He said he took my meal off the bill, which he should have since I was given TWO bad meals and didn't eat a dinner. He then brought me a filet dinner, which actually looked like a filet. My husband and son were done eating and after all the aggravation, I told them to just box it up. The manager then comped our bill which was the right thing to do. We still have the gift card however, I don't know if we will get decent food at a different Outback, and really don't want to go back the Outback in Naperville. We will tell our son to not get us gift cards to Outback again. We won't go to any Outback restaurants again except to use the one gift card we have. read more
