First time at a Morton's. They've been on my restaurant bucket list for a long time. My wife and I came for restaurant week (~$60/person, not including drinks). I got the pork chop, mashed potatoes, and the chocolate cake dessert. They also serve a big loaf of bread. You can tear/rip it, or you can try to cut it with the butter knife. It was funny watching other tables trying to decide. The pork chop was cooked medium and had a nice flavor. The staff were friendly. Overall, good experience. Only awkward part was, our table was next to the silverware and linens table. Each tiime staff needed to redress a table, they had to squeeze behind me to get what they needed. read more

I understand why Morton's Steakhouse slogan told the truth..THE BEST STEAKHOUSE EVER! This evening, Ive treated my boyfriend mother to an early birthday dinner. The ambience is amazing. I love their chandeliers. The host was very friendly. Although we arrived early on the reservation, you would have to wait until your time reservation. Our server Edward was a delight (I loved his glasses. I can tell he is a great dresser although he had on his uniform). Edward was very attentive. Steven was so amazing, down to earth and hilarious which made our night special. Of course we participated in Chicago Restaurant Week. My boyfriend and mom had wedge salad and Caesar salads and filet mignon. I had the lobster bisque and salmon . There was a miscommunication with our dessert selection which Steven made our night again and gave everyone both desserts to go. We love Edward and Steven. The best steakhouse ever. I saw this suburban restaurant listed on Chicago Restaurant Week website so decided to check it out. I made my reservation the day before and was able to get my preferred time. The restaurant called me later that day to ask if we were celebrating anything and I liked that extra touch. Parking lot is shared with a lot of businesses, but as we had earlier reservation, we were able to get a close spot. If you prefer valet, they do offer that as well. We were promptly greeted and taken to our table. However, we had to ask for the restaurant week menu as those were not directly provided. I went with the seared ahi tuna that was a slight upcharge. It was very tasty and flavorful. Steak was cooked to my liking. Mashed potatoes excellent too. Sometimes restaurant week portions can be smaller, but I felt they were excellent. I also had 2 of their martinis, and they were excellent. It was probably one of the best cosmos that I have ever had. I would return for their specials menu as that is reasonably priced. Compared to the old gold coast location I've visited in many years ago, this location is much better in terms of food and service. We dined in with both the boys for a nice little dinner celebration and had a great evening. The bread was endless, the seafood sampler was amazing, cocktails were on point, side dishes were filling, and the tomahawk was more than enough to share. This location was very laid back and chill. A nice upscale elegant atmosphere for grown up's to enjoy. I drove out to Naperville on Friday after work for the promotion deal that is going on for the month of January. Bubbles and Bites that is only served at the bar. A chilled glass of Veuve Clicquot or Belvedere Martini, a nice portion size of parmesan truffle fries and 2 mini sliders (chicken or smash burger slider). Everyone working at the bar was very attentive and nice. I really enjoyed the vibes up in this place. Enjoyable music. Just wanted I needed to unwind and kick off my weekend. Even though I didn't like the taste of the Veuve Clicquot champagne everything was still nice. One of the Bartenders was so kind to substitute the drink for a sweet key lime pie. For years this has been our "go to " place to celebrate ~ anything. Well, In January of this year we had a horrible experience. We left, passed on dessert and all we heard was that "notes" had been made so that this would never happen again. Any place can have an off night. So, for our anniversary, we optimistically made our reservation, requesting the booth we have always dined in. Imagine my shock, in a very minimally occupied dining room, to see that a party had just been seated at the booth of our reservation. And it went downhill for the remainder of the meal. My husband asked if I had written a bad review after January's experience to cause us to be seated at a highly undesirable location. Then, a woman from the hostess desk came to us saying they forget to give us our cards and she placed 2 cards that said Happy Anniversary on the table. Normally, we had always been greeted at the door with an acknowledgement of the occasion. The gentleman who had seated the earlier party went around the dining room, greeting the diners, and asking if everything was good. He did not even make eye contact with us much less speak to us. Again, we heard a lot of talk about "notes" being made so this would never happen again. It won't ~ we will find a new restaurant to celebrate. read more

This was almost the perfect meal! It's Ash Wednesday so no red meat, chicken, fried foods or sweets! I ordered a soup--Lobster Bisque--that I ended up having to use as a "sauce" on my perfectly prepared and delicious Cold Water Lobster Tail that was supposed to be served with an "Oscar Style Crab" enhancement (Jumbo Lump Crab Meat, Asparagus Tips & Sauce Béarnaise) because unfortunately the chef and/or waiter decided for me to eliminate the Béarnaise Sauce from the rather expensive "enhancement" I ordered. The Egg & Onion Loaf Bread is a MUST HAVE! The Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp was seasoned to perfection and tender not rubbery, and I urge you to add the Jumbo Grilled Asparagus as a vegetable even though the "Jumbo Lump Crab Meat, Asparagus Tips & Sauce Béarnaise" enhancement has some asparagus. All work and no play makes Kristin a dull girl, so with not a whole lot of arm-twisting, I let a new aquaintenance talk me into allowing him to escort me to Morton's Steakhouse in Naperville. To sum up the ensuing evening, I decided to give my escort five stars, and the restaurant four. I'll keep the reasoning behind my beau's ratings to myself, but here's the 411 on the restaurant: To begin with, we shared everything family-style. The service was completely exceptional from our arrival until our departure. Our server was attentive, but not overly so. She paced the delivery of all our courses very nicely, and made sure out glasses never got empty. She also gave us several spot-on recommendations. We began the meal with two starters - Gnocchi and Crab Cakes. The crab cakes were AOK, but there was much to be improved upon. The seasoning was quite drab, and the cakes weren't anywhere near as crispy as would have been optimal. The sauce was tasty, but this made an unfortunate contrast with the drab flavor of the cakes themselves. On the other hand, the Gnocchi was excellent - delicious, tasty, and flavorful morsels. In 20-20 hindsight, I wish we'd doubled-up on the Gnocchi and skipped the crab cakes. Next up we shared a Ribeye, an order of Asparagus, and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. The Ribeye was a nice cut, well-seasoned and perfectly cooked to the temperature we requested (medium rare). As for the sides, neither one was anything to write home about - the asparagus was a bit soggy, and the Lobster Mac and Cheese had hardly any lobster bits in it. Bottom Line for the food - the meal was solid and it would be tough to walk away from it hungry, but at this price point we should have left stuffed and singing Morton's praises. That said, I look forward to returning another time in the not-too-distance future to give this place another shot at knocking my culinary socks off ;-) read more

I come here very often with my husband, one of my favorite restaurants but this experience was definitely a bad one. Service is definitely a must when going somewhere high end. In this case is was not. Our server from the get go was having a bad day or just in a bad mood, very short and didn't wait for us to finish what we wanted to say before leaving the table. Finally my husband was upset since it was my birthday, and asked him to get us a new server. The rest of the night was great. The first server did come over to apologize but as it being his job, he let his emotions get the best of him. This was my first visit to Morton's on 12/6/25. We had 4 PM reservations. When we arrived, we were told the entire dining room had been rented out for a holiday party for 90 people.. We were escorted to a tiny room, not much bigger than a closet which significantly impacted my first experience. We should have been notified of the change so we could make alternate plans if we chose to. (I ordered twin lobsters that were overcooked and rubbery.) Will I return? Not likely. For $375.00, this was not the experience I had hoped for. I was not interested in joining their dining club nor did I appreciate the insistence by our server that I do. His service, however, was excellent. Update: I was contacted by Morton's with an apology for their failure to tell us about the dining room being closed. Had an initial terrible experience at Morton's but the Manager made up for it. Basically I got there for an early dinner and let the waitress know exactly what I wanted but she got "busy" with a large table even though they were not busy and ignored me. Here is the timeline of events 3:57 arrived for 4pm reservation for 1 4:00 seated 4:10 placed order 4:20 bread 4:30 soup 4;57 manager finally came to speak to me since dinner had not arrived and I had complained to another waitress 5:10 finally got my meal 5:15 new waitress and manager came to check on me 5:27 was out of there The manager comp'ed the meal and apologized profusely. Another more professional mature waitress packed up my leftovers. This is a perfect example of exceeding a customers expectations. Besides making excuses for the initial racist waitress they handled it the right way. Now to the review Service (E/A+) Initially the service was terrible but the manager made up for it. I actually ended up buying a gift card for the kids coach. Value (A-) Look it's an upscale Steak place so expect to pay a lot for some high quality food. I was stuffed and had left overs. We have been to this location several times and it always impresses us. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated immediately. Ray, our server was excellent. Not rushed at all but always attentive. He made great suggestions on our various drinks. We skipped the appetizers this visit as we are normally too full to really enjoy the decadent desserts. The wedge salad was a perfect opener for me. Our steaks and sides came out plated beautifully and hot. Their steaks always impress. My wife did the Wagu filet. She said it was amazing. My dry aged ribeye was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. My son did the NY strip steak. He loved it. We shared the mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and truffle fries. All were excellent. The wine and other drinks we tasted went well with our meal. Since we were celebration our son's birthday, they came around and took our picture, giving us a beautiful picture to mark the occasion. It was a very nice touch. They also gave my son a special complimentary dessert with a candle to mark his birthday. All of the desserts we tasted were amazing. Try to leave room to enjoy them. All in all, we completely enjoyed our entire dining experience. I would highly recommend Morton's for a really nice night out to dinner. My wife and I went on the early side on a Friday night. We were celebrating me finishing a huge effort for my job. We were seated at a comfortable table with a semi-circular couch-like piece of furniture so that we could sit next to each other vs. across from each other Both of us got French onion soup, steaks, and cocktails. All were prepared to perfection. I like my steak medium-rare; my wife likes her steak well-done. We got them served at the same time - and mine was still hot - fresh out of the oven. And, I can't say enough good things about our server, Cheryl. She answered all questions - but more than that - she proactively asked what kinds of food we'd like to make recommendations. I was planning a separate dessert from my wife - and Cheryl quickly advised otherwise given the size of the dessert. I am really glad we shared a dessert. Overall, this was a decent steakhouse. My husband and I came here on the last day of restaurant week this year, as we love trying different steakhouses. The service was great and our server was attentive despite the busy dinner rush we had entered. The food was decent. For our starter, I got the SRF Wagyu Meatball with Whipped Ricotta and Basil Pesto which was very good. My husband got the lobster bisque which was a bit cold when we got it. For our entree, my husband got the center- cut filet mignon and I got the Double Cut Prime Pork Chop. Again, my dish tasted more on point than his. Both of our desserts hit the spot though! Had date night here on a saturday evening with my husband. The evening was great. When we arrived, we were seated right away. Our meus had congratulations on the top because we were recently married. I had the shrimp Alexander for my appetizer and my husband enjoyed the warm bread that was served. We also had drinks. The main course was 12 oz filet for me which was really good but I could have done with less char. He had the 20oz bone-in ribeye, which he enjoyed as well. We went to Mortons to celebrate a birthday. We ordered the surf and turf special. Started with Caesar salad. They were fresh and good. The hot loaf of bread was good. I loved our waiter. He was very personable and attentive. It was early, so the restrictions was quiet. We ordered filets, lobster tail, and bacon wrapped scallops. The filets were cooked properly, lobster tail was good, the scallop was a bit under. For my personal taste I would like a little more seasoning on the steaks. The asparagus was grilled and delicious. The sour cream mashed potatoes were creamy and plentiful. I ordered them "loaded". I would have liked to have a little more chives, cheese, onions etc to load them. Let me say from the outset that service here is excellent and the waitstaff aims to please, no complaints there. This saddens me to only give three stars, and it's for the food, drinks and wine!! While the meal was good it didn't live up to memorable nor the price. Most things came close but just missed hitting it outta the park. For starters I got an $18 Martini Royale (reminiscent of the Vesper) that was 2/3rds of the glass, it tasted great but most of the time we worry about spilling it when we take our first sip! I accepted their offer of bread but was gobsmacked when a ginormous everyday onion roll showed up! I'd expected crusty French bread or something more interesting... and it was doughy stick to the roof of your mouth bread. I tried the crab cake appetizer and the duo of mini crab cakes was good but they were accompanied by a small arugula and purple onion mix that was way too heavy on the onion that was fighting with the crab. The crab cakes were very good but lacked sufficient binder that made them fragile and fork difficult. On to our main course! Mortons is a true steak house with an à la carte menu for EVERYTHING! Even the steak sauce is extra... just raise the price of the steak and offer options on sauces. I ordered the dry aged rib eye, jumbo roasted asparagus and lyonnaise potatoes. I think the sides were okay but lyonnaise potatoes were cut a bit thick I thought but good and the asparagus was generous. That rib eye was the big disappointment. Although it came perfectly medium rare it had too much connective tissue, seemed to be in almost every cut as I cut and cut! The fat cap I expect on a rib eye but not that much connective tissue. I was asked by everyone how I enjoyed my meal and honestly it was okay but a meal can go further downhill if you start complaining to the staff and you're only on your cocktail or in the middle of an appetizer hoping the entree makes up for things... so I didn't bring my concerns to the manager or waitstaff. It just sometimes means they snatch the plate, you wait while they cook it again, lose your appetite and the rhythm is lost. It's not that I won't come back to Morton's I would stick to the NY strip, filet or pork chop, pass on martini's and bread. Better yet have the bar bites and call it a day. Naperville Morton's Steak House. The food was served lukewarm. My steak was Well done when I asked for it medium. My wife's was all dried out. The Bearnaise sauce was cold. You always serve Bearnaise hot on a steak/crab dish. The Steaks were chewy. Worst steak ever at a Mortons. Side dishes Green beans & spinach big enough to share & cooked nicely. Also had dessert - (not pictured) creme brûlée & key lime pie. Both a good size and very tasty. HIGHLY SUGGEST coming here - their food is amazing! And for restaurant week you cannot beat the price for all the food you get. My family and I, my professional peers and I, have been coming to this location for many years. The food is amazing. The service is excellent, but I've never written a review. I'm compelled to write a review because how amazing Edward our server was. He was so careful with my gluten dairy allergies and my wife's shellfish allergies and had such amazing interaction with us and was so professional, but polite and kind, and just exuded professionalism. He is the type of server you would expect at the finest dining in the finest places in the world, and we had the luxury of being with him on this particular dinner here in Naperville Illinois. I have to say that for the first time in a long time I felt totally safe as if I was preparing my own food with respect to the allergies and I felt just so cared about by this individual as did my family. A CUT ABOVE THE COMPETITION The best steaks in life don't come cheap. ***this is part 4 in a 10-part series as I count down to my 1,000th post.  These are local legends, places of international intrigue, historic businesses, and unforgettable opportunities.  All five stars, of course.*** After confirming the last details of our Spring 2020 wedding, I wanted to treat my partner to a special occasion dinner at Morton's, as she'd never been. I made a reservation through OpenTable at this Naperville location on 10/18/19; we were promptly seated when arriving at 8pm. Following a warm greeting from our server, we perused the drink menus -- their wine list is extensive and, quite frankly, intimidating. They brought out a signature hot onion loaf with whipped butter, definitely one of the better complimentary bread services at any restaurant. My Jalisco Mule ($15) was made with Don Julio tequila, lime juice, agave nectar, ginger beer, and black pepper. It was an excellent choice of cocktail, one that I wouldn't hesitate to order again. Meanwhile, my fiancée received a glass of Spellbound ($14), a generous pour of pinot noir. We each got a soup to start. The baked french onion ($12.50) was a very flavorful broth with croutons and cheese that got nice & melty under the broiler. Her lobster bisque ($15.50) was rich and topped with chunks of lobster. Though expensive, it was nothing short of fabulous. For an entrée, I went with a special 8oz filet mignon topped with lobster over grilled asparagus ($59). It also had a cheese puff on top, a fun little extra flourish. I requested the filet cooked 'medium' and they nailed it. For a la carte pricing, it better be spot-on.....and it was! My girl's 16oz ribeye ($52) was an outstanding piece of beef that was perfectly cooked. Even when reheated in the microwave a few days later, it STILL tasted like the best steak we've eaten all year. It was served with some field greens for garnish. Morton's creamed spinach ($13) is -- bar none -- the best I've ever had. They add an ample dash of nutmeg (I believe) that gives the dish a wonderful undertaste, a subtle sweetness that's often imitated but never duplicated. The potatoes au gratin ($13) had gruyere and made for another compelling selection. The chocolate lava cake ($15) we had for dessert was decadent. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, dusting of powdered sugar, fresh raspberries, a sprig of mint and drizzle of caramel sauce. Because we were celebrating our engagement, they kind enough to comp us this. Bread = 5 Circuses = 5 Our server, Sharon, was incredibly knowledgeable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. Cordial and attentive, we received the level of service I'd expect from a place that's marked as "$$$$" on Yelp (the most expensive rating possible). Even more delightful was the picture and small frame they gave us at the meal's end. The only thing that could've improved was the speed at which our cocktails came out, that took 15-20 minutes. Everything else was perfect or near perfection. Morton's went above and beyond in making our dinner here a romantic affair, something we'll reflect back on for a long time. * TL;DR * I very rarely give out perfect ratings for both food *and* service, but this Morton's is most deserving. Our $50 Landry's gift certificate got used up almost instantly, and that's okay. You get what you pay for, and if you want the best, be prepared to shell out for it (a nice dinner for two was $200). Though Gene & Georgetti's and Wildfire are close competition, at the end of the day, I feel that Morton's The Steakhouse edges them out in virtually all categories. They made us feel valued guests at every turn, and that'll leave a lasting impression long after the leftovers have been eaten. Next time someone asks my recommendation for "a really good steak", I'll advise them to bust open the piggy bank and head to Morton's for what will undoubtedly be a fantastic meal. read more

Since I wrote my initial review 5+ years ago after a single visit, it's only fair that my update is based off of a single recent visit. My wife and I dined here in part because we received a gift card. The second trip here was better than the first and I can say what you order can make all the difference. I had the Cajun ribeye, which was terrific-as the waiter (Dontrell) described...it's a flavorful rub/marinade as opposed to simply spicy and not hot. Good side of bacon and gouda au gratin potatoes and the sautéed mushroom and spinach round it out well. The Morton's salad was interesting-romaine and iceberg mix with a lot of bleu cheese crumbles (including a mother lode!) and dressing with two small strips of anchovies on top. My wife's burrata salad-a seasonal item-was a hit as well-cold and crisp with several finely chopped veggies (avocado and brussels sprouts to name a couple) and a light but tasty dressing. We were hungering for a great steak and my wife came across, online, a Labor Day Weekend special at Morton's The Steakhouse. It was $69 for a three-course meal. Sounded like a great deal so we made reservations for the Naperville Morton's on Friday night and went with a couple of good friends. We got there, had a great cocktail at the bar and then were seated in the dining room. The hostess left behind food menus and wine list but nothing about the Labor Day Weekend special. No problem, I thought, I'm sure the waitress will tell us about it. Nothing, she greeted us, took our drink order and didn't say anything about the special. When she returned, I asked pointedly if there were any specials I should know about. She mentioned that there was a special on the Waygu steaks. That's it, nothing about the three-course meal special. I had to ask her directly about the special. She admitted, somewhat awkwardly, that "oh yeah" there is that special, "Did we want that?" The food was good, it was a solid steak and a good lobster tail. I was happy with the meal and the service was ok but it was really disappointing that they deliberately failed to mention anything about the dining special and forced me to ask about it. read more

A literal high end restaurant and steakhouse. When I walked in I felt like Diana Ross, the service was excellent and everyone was so nice. I had a reservation and was told to wait a moment but there was no one else in front of us. We were seated about 10 minutes later no biggie. I'm 8 months pregnant and the hostess pulled the table out and she pushed it back in for me. You don't get that any and everywhere. I can't wait to return plates start about $30-40 and above so do not come cheap and have your appetite ready! Very classy, romantic vibes and the perfect dining experience for couples, family and friends. The bar was beautiful too and had small tables! SC mashed potatoes were to die for and I thoroughly enjoyed those wagyu meatballs. Valet parking available but it's in the freedom commons you really don't need it. read more

Our experience at Morton's was a clear 5-Star not only because of the phenomenal food, but the friendliness of server and all other employees that interacted with us was unlike any experience we've had in the burbs. The last thing we expected was a small family vibe to this chain restaurant, but Diana hit it out of the park! We sat at a high top in the bar and opted to try out the latest 3-course menu deal, which is a great deal! I got the toast trio, filet mignon, asparagus and chocolate mouse. Everything was made to perfection. My husband had the Ceasar salad, salmon and berries and shortcake. For $49 per person you can't beat this delicious deal plus there's additional savings if you add a bottle of wine vs. ordering by the glass. Really top notch, and I am generally not a steakhouse chain person, but I would give more than 5 stars for our experience if that was an option. read more
