Came for a weekday lunch. Plenty of free parking in the area. tl;dr Weekday business lunch deals are fantastic! The business lunch deal ($29) comes with an appetizer, entree and side, which is a great deal. Ordered the lobster bisque, Delmonico steak (8oz) and Brussels sprouts. The bisque soup was flavorful and tasty. Steak was cooked well, but a bit oily. I thought the brussel sprouts would be a healthier option, but they chop it like a salad and there's a healthy serving of bacon and dressing. Prime rib sandwich: Sandwich was tasty and fries were super crispy. I wish the horseradish was stronger though. Our server, Melyssa was fantastic and attentive, despite having to manage many tables. We headed over to Sullivan's on January 1st - a great way to start the year, you know? A steakhouse we'd never been to, but heard good things about. So -- first impression? They were busy. We checked in; waited 3 minutes, and were seated promptly. Ambience was absolutely in the realm of Morton's, Mastro's etc- which is to say? Pretty classic for the most part. The water and bread (delicious bread, I might add) came quickly. We ordered some pinot noir - our waiter poured with an amazing flourish - I had to ask him if it was a Sullivan's take? Or his? It was his! I was impressed. Ok- we ordered Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and each of us ordered a cup of shrimp and lobster bisque. The shrimp cocktail was delish- but the shrimp - while good- wasn't "quite" as jumbo as we'd hoped. Still - the cocktail sauce was spot on and very nice. The bisque? A bit spicy- and in a very good way. Definitely enjoyed it. I ordered a 6oz filet mignon, well done, while hubby ordered a 12 oz ribeye- medium. Both were spot on as well- I ordered mine Oscar style, which gave me a generous "splat" of lump crab on top - really enjoyable. Our side was sweet potatoes- mashed and wonderfully spiced. It seriously brought back memories- good ones. No dessert, though- we were simply too full! Final verdict - On Point. The steak was very delicious, however, no sides came with the meal. I believe the food is slightly overpriced as ordering a simple side would cost an extra $8-$12. On the other hand, we were given a complimentary slice of raspberry cake, with letters that spelled out 'Happy Anniversary'. The little touch is what made the place seemingly more special. Lastly, and my favorite, the ambience. To make up for the expensive meals, the experience was incredible. The inside of the restaurant was very fancy and dimlit, with fresh rose petals sprinkled on the tables. Perfect place to celebrate a birthday! We made reservations and were seated right away. We lucked out finding a parking spot up front but there is also a valet around the corner. Our server, Evan, was excellent at providing recommendations and explaining the menu. I ordered the blueberry lemon drop martini which was sweet, refreshing, and pretty (bonus: the rim was also coated)! The meal started with some complimentary bread which was so soft and fresh. We also ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls per Evan's recommendation and they did not disappoint (pro tip: dip the leftover bread in the egg roll sauce). For our meal we split the ribeye cowboy and crab fried rice. The ribeye was SO tender! It was plenty of food for two people. For the birthday boy, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert. Straight off I want to say that Lana provided an amazing experience for my daughter and I. Fantastic service. The ambiance of this place was good. We were seated off the bar in a little patio kind of area. In the summer, I imagine it's pretty nice to have the windows open. The other reviews for this place are absolutely spot on in particular- when it comes to how the steak is cooked. The appetizers were our favorite part of the meal, we had the pork belly (amazing!) and the calamari had a great kick! The steaks. My daughter and I both ordered our steak medium rare. Her came out medium well and mine came out half medium well and half well done. She sent hers back and got another one, I didn't because it was still good. In retrospect I think I should have reverted to ordering it a little under what I wanted since i hadn't been there before. We both had mashed potatoes, those were good. And for dessert, she got banana foster. Probably won't return as for the price there, and all the meals I saw even around us getting sent back - a little red flaggy for my liking. Everything about this steakhouse was amazing. The service was top tier. I wish we got our waiter's name so I could give him a shoutout because he was perfect! He was attentive and professional and very knowledgeable on the menu. There were literally no flaws in his service. The food was delicious. We ordered the seared ahi tuna for our appetizer- highly recommend! The sauce served with it compliments the tuna really well and has a spicy kick. All of their appetizers sounded so good! As for the steaks, they offer a great variety in different sizes. I was contemplating either an 8oz or 12oz cut. I ended up ordering the 8oz NY strip well-done (I know that irks some people haha) and it was truly cooked well-done. Some places don't cook it all the way through because I'll find it pink in the middle. Not here. It was just how I like it! My boyfriend ordered his steak medium and it was perfect. The food runner asked him to cut into it to make sure it was cooked to his liking before she walked away. The garlic mashed potatoes, french fries, and potatoes au gratin were also a big hit. Everything had so much flavor! FYI - French fries weren't on the menu so we asked if they could make them and they had no problem doing so. The atmosphere was relaxing and elegant. They have a bar area when you walk in that has a more upbeat atmosphere, which would be fun if you wanted to have a few drinks before dinner. This is a more upscale restaurant. Make sure you dress somewhat nice :). We were luckly to snag a parkkng spot right across from the restaurant. It's a big restaurant with plenty of seating. The decor is well done, and the lighting is slightly dimmed. Our server was great. I ordered the steak, mashed potatoes, and a side salad. Our dinner also came with a dessert. For Valentines Day this year we chose to go off the beaten path and head to Naperville to Sullivan's for a nice night out. Parking available right out front and once you enter you'll be exposed to the wall of awards and accolades they've earned in the past few years. We were seating in the dining room whose ambiance influenced our decision to choose it as our romantic dining location, and greeted and served by a long-time employee who demonstrated his love for the place by giving us great service. Custom cocktails were available but only as a complement to the elevated wine selection they've curated. Very impressive, very delicious. We followed some good advise tried the steak egg rolls and they did not disappoint. Excellent, made with remnants of the best steaks around. Now the steaks we ordered were top-notch; best ones we've had all year. Hers was the Cajun Riley FULL of flavor requiring no add-ons, mine was a strip steaks with garlic butters that was more than I could have hoped for. Juicy, great quality, terrific flavor... they've earned their awards. A little tight for us to navigate around tables. Our party ordered the business lunch specials. A great deal for $26-starter (salad or soup) main and a side. I had a delicious salmon with Brussels sprouts. The salmon was pretty salty-but tasty. Two in our party had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. They said it was tasty but not spicy at all. Between a 4 and a 5 for me. My husband and I were given a gift card for here and finally had a chance to check it out. Per their Facebook page, they are supposed to have a Tuesday night special. However, due to holiday season, the special is on hold. However, they still have a 3 item price fixe menu. I decided to go with the caeser salad, filet, and cheesecake. Salad had a lot of dressing on it. Steak came with mashed potatoes and both were delicious. I upgraded the filet which came with a $15 upcharge. Cheesecake had fresh strawberry glaze. Service from Staci was great. She was very attentive during the meal. It did feel a little strange that none of the hostesses at the front said goodbye on the way out. They also offer a happy hour Monday thru Thursdays in their bar area. I would return to check it out as well. Parking can be a little tight over here. DONT EAT HERE! Horrible. Got ecoli food poisoning from this place after dining here Saturday night.l was in hospital all night and been vomiting for 24 hours. Called as soon as opened and the girl that answered phone was very sweet and empathetic but when manager got on phone he was rude and defensive said hr will be contacting me, still waiting and would not give me any other number. For our last few visits, we consistently have been seated right next to the kitchen or by a server station, which makes for a noisy and not so relaxing dinner. Tonight we were pleased to be taken to a quieter side room with only two other parties seated, but then once those parties left, 3 staff members including our server proceeded to vacuum, polish glasses, strip tables, and chat around us while we tried to enjoy what is supposed to be a premium dining experience. I could understand this if we were lingering there past closing time, but it was around 9pm and the restaurant is open until 11pm. We took our desserts to go so that we could eat them at home in peace. After spending several Valentines days and family birthdays here, we have had enough and will not be returning. read more

The restaurant was fairly empty, there was only one other table in the dinning area for the whole time we were eating but that may also be because it was snowing at that time. The hostess who greeted us at the front of the restaurant was not very friendly unfortunately which left a bad first impression. They started with water for us. We asked for warm water and the teacup they gave me was pretty dirty so I asked for a new cup which they wiped clean but it left a really bad aftertaste on the cup so not sure what kind of old cloth or rag they used to wipe it with. Needless to say I did not drink any water out of that cup after. Our server was great throughout the meal. They also did switch out our plates throughout the meal which was nice; however, the guy who did it (not our usual server) left lots of oily finger prints all over the plate which was kinda gross. To start we ordered: TABLESIDE BLT SALAD: Flavor was great and was well dressed and filled with ingredients. Definitely a nice starter option. CRISPY SHANGHAI CALAMARI: Calamari was very well fried and a great flavor. The Thai sweet chili was an interesting choice of sauce but would have been better if it was on the side because it was a bit over dressed. For my main I ordered a CRAB CAKE SANDWICH and a side of FRENCH ONION SOUP. The sandwich was nice, the crab cakes were perfect. I did wish the veggies it came with were in more of a tossed slaw style though. It just seemed like they threw some raw veggies together on the sandwich. The brioche bun it came on did tie everything together well though. Soft and warm toasted bun! The Parmesan fries it came with were delicious and perfectly fried! Additionally the cup of French onion soup it came with was huge! Great flavor and not too oily. We also had some bread on the side. The bread was warm and the whipped butter it came with was delicious. Ordered with DoorDash dynamite roll was 27$ for no flavour so much of rice and a soggy shrimp. The truffle steak sandwich was so salty and no truffle smell or taste at all. Lobster bisque was also salty and had a weird colour and flavour. No napkins no chopsticks no spoon for the soup no side of ketchup for the fries no crackers for the soup. Today we had a show at the college of Dupage at three. We went to see capital steps. It was great after the show we needed a place to go to eat so I made a reservation at Sullivans. Our reservation was for six. We got there at about 557 the waiter introduced himself his name was Doug And we ordered a salad which came with blue cheese and blue cheese dressing which I don't eat and we ordered it on the side and I ordered bacon which came on the side we cut the salad in half. My wife ate half with the cheese and the cheese dressing and I ate the other half with the bacon and their house vinaigrette. very tasty. Give it four stars out of four then we shared what was supposed to be blackened salmon however the chef didn't get the message and it just came out roasted salmon. I didn't send it back. I cut it in half and it came with a big pile of wonderful spinach and the salmon was OK. It wasn't what we ordered, but I wasn't gonna make a big deal out of it And we ordered a sweet potato casserole which was very very good. The waiter was terrific. Very attentive. the food was good. We came here with my in-laws for dinner several weeks ago and Sullivan's Steakhouse is located right in the heart of downtown Naperville. We had an early dinner reservation (4:30pm) and when we arrived, there were already other patrons either at the bar or in the main dining room, and I loved the energy of a bustling steak house. Sullivan's is definitely a place for special occasions (and that's not to say folks weren't there to just enjoy a really nice dinner) but your meal here is one to remember. The service was impeccable. No one needs a "valid reason" for a nice steak dinner... or shall I say you can use any excuse to have a feast. All I'm saying is on the night that we went, there was a couple celebrating their anniversary and some youngins' having dinner before a dance formal like prom or homecoming. The steak was excellent and cooked to perfection, you didn't even need the sauce but I loved trying all three; my favorite was the bordelaise which was made with red wine. Our server kept our ice glasses filled with water and warm bread from the kitchen as often as we wanted. My MIL ordered the scallops and I got to have a taste. Their seafood is just as high quality as their steak (including the jumbo shrimp we had as an appetizer in their shrimp cocktail. I would recommend Sullivan's if you're looking for a nice steak dinner! Their service was superb and their food was even better. They take reservations, so I'd recommend making one especially for weekends during the dinner rush. My wife and I have been here many times and have enjoyed most of our experiences. Overall, it has not quite been the same the last few times. Food has been good, but for the price I expect it to be great. My 16oz ribeye was cooked to temperature, but the thickness and overall appearance/presentation left much to be desired. We sat at the bar this time and arrived at 9:30p on a weekend night (they close at 10p). I worked in the industry for over 10 years growing up and understand wanting to go home after my shift. We definitely felt rushed from start to finish. Service was good and our bartender did apologize, but still it left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). Staff Manny and Fran were very accommodating and attentive. They gave a sample spoon of Caesar salad which wasn't bad but needed a tad bit more dressing to start then we tried the cheese steak egg roll which were good. We saw that they had a prix 3 course meal on the menu so we tried that! Awesome deal. I had the lobster/shrimp bisque which i liked and the filet mignon and mashed potatoes and we shared asparagus. My wife and I went to Sullivan's in Naperville during Restaurant Week with another couple and the meals and service was great. However, that changed when we went to pay. We split the bill with the other couple and put two credit cards in the billfold. When the waitstaff returned the credit card receipts to sign, I noticed my credit card was missing. I looked around the billfold and couldn't find it. Then I took my cell phone out and turned on the flashlight to search around the floor by our table and did not see it. I informed the manager, Sara, that my credit card hadn't been returned. She asked if it could still be in the billfold and I showed here that it wasn't. Sara and a few employees searched around with flashlights. Sara came back and asked if we checked under the table and I told her we did using a flashlight. She checked under our table and the floor herself with flashlight. Before she walked away, I told her I was very concerned that they lost my credit card. We asked if they checked by the station where they run credit cards and she didn't see it there. She said that the station was close by and walked away to continue searching. After a while, she came back and asked me if I might have put the credit card back in my wallet. I showed her that I didn't and told her again, that I was very concerned that they lost my credit card. Sara continued to search for around 5 minutes and came back and said they couldn't find it. At no point did she ever apologize for losing my credit card or offer anything for the inconvenience. I told her that I will have to report it lost or stolen and we left. Just before we got home, Sara called to inform us that they found my credit card under another table. When we went back to the restaurant Sara was at the door to hand me my credit card and I gave her a tip, to get different billfolds that have deeper pockets to hold credit cards. In a very unapologetic way she thanked me for my feedback. I told her that I felt she handled the situation poorly and again she thanked me for my feedback. I tried to explain how I will have to get a new credit card and update websites that we use our credit card for auto payments, but she didn't want to hear anything and then threatened me and said she would call the police because I was harassing her and the walked away. Really, they created the problem and not to mention the inconvenience on our part and she threatened to call the police on me. Sara needs to go through more management training because of the way she handles herself unprofessionally. read more

Sullivan's in downtown Naperville is definitely a spot worth checking out, especially on a Thursday for their Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The bar bites are solid--let me tell you, the beef Wellington bites are downright delicious! The shrimp egg roll was also pretty good, a nice complement to the evening. However, the tuna poke didn't quite hit the mark for me; it was a bit of a letdown, but hey, you never know until you try, right? The ambiance was fun, especially when you've got good people at the bar to spark a conversation with. Normal expectations when dining at an expensive steakhouse extend from being professionally greeted when you enter, to being afforded efficient service, and then being provided with a top-notch meal. None of these three elements were met during a recent business lunch at this Sullivan's. When we arrived the hostess was missing in action. After about 4 minutes she emerged from a back room with an snarly attitude and seated us at a table in about the worst location in the almost empty dining room. She gave us the wrong menus. We tried asking for a different table but she was gone in a flash. After we self-moved to a comfortable booth, the server took our order and then the wait began. We waited and we waited. Finally I stopped our server and asked for some bread to which she said some was being baked for us. Then we waited some more. A half hour into the ordeal our salads came. Once salads were finished we waited again. Another 30 minutes passed before we were told there was a backup in the kitchen... confusing since only four occupied tables could be seen. Then we were told a party of 20 were there (somewhere). Finally our meals arrived. Rather than being medium rare, one steak was barely seared on the outside and the inside was stone cold and raw. The brussels sprouts were so salty they were inedible. The parmesan coated French fries lacked a single flake of parmesan. The entire experience was frustrating.
