I haven't been to an Outback in many years, my mom & her friends go every 6 weeks or so and always rave about the Toowoomba Salmon. We got the Seared Ahi, the new spicy chicken bites and a couple of personal size salads. The ahi was absolutely delicious!!! Like right up there with Ruth's Chris!!! I'm not even kidding. It was fantastic quality and the flavor was amazing, in fact we ended up ordering a second serving for our dinner. The salmon was delicious too!! The sauce that comes on top has a kick to it and has great body. We got there kinda early (around 4:30p), so there were not that many people in there, but our server Rob had the whole room. He was working his tush off. Even with all the tables he managed to take really good care of us. He was sweet and funny and made our evening so much better! I placed an order for pick up here and really enjoyed the food. The orders were neatly packed and was happy to see nothing was missing. The food was good and definitely fed and filled this family of four. The portions was good for the price. The only thing I think they can improve on a little more is the customer service. When I drove up to pick up my food, the lady that came over to help me didn't seem too enthusiastic to be there. She just came right over and stood at my window. There was no acknowledgement, no hello, no how are you. After I told her that I was here for pick up and gave her my name, that's when she said she would check on my order. For being a steakhouse, Outback Steakhouse's steak sucks. We got some complimentary bread and butter, blooming onion, and 12 oz. ribeye, with fresh seasonal veggies, and homestyle mashed potatoes. To start off the bread and butter was decent. I love how the butter was at the perfect spreadable temperature. Their bread is reminiscent of pumpernickel. I do wish it was a little sweeter. This would an interesting counter flavor to the fatty butter. The blooming onion was fairly good and is fairly impressive. This is an appetizer outback steakhouse is known for, and it was pretty good. The onion was fried perfectly. The batter was seasoned well and had a nice flavor to it. The onion was very crispy. The sauce paired well with the bloomin' onion. It was surprisingly not overly greasy. My one issue is they keep the outer, waxy layer of the onion. Taking one of those bites really sucks. It is chewy and your saliva does not break it down, so you're forced to spit it out. Get the inner layers of the onion, to have a good appetizer. Now on to the main dish. The veggies. or broccoli rather, were actually boiled perfectly. They were incredibly soft, but not mush. Though, they lacked an incredible amount of seasoning. I mean just hit it with some salt and pepper and we're good. The mashed potatoes are nearly the worst I've ever tasted. Completely inedible in my opinion. It tastes like Play-Doh. Seriously, once you put it in your mouth, you have a clay taste. The texture was just fine. Now for the star of the show, the steak. The sear was honestly alright. The steak was cooked nearly perfectly in the middle. I requested medium rare. Though, all of that doesn't matter when your steak is criminally underseasoned. It seems as if they didn't season the steak at all, which very much disappointed me. You have to adjust the seasoning to your taste, which I found annoying. The quality of the food is alright. The mashed potatoes were terrible. I don't know what instant mashed potatoes brand they use, but it sucks. The steak was of mediocre quality. The marbling was not the best, and it was a little tough. For a ribeye, I expect a little more fat, but it tasted very lean. Therefore, that leads me to suspect they used a poorly graded ribeye. The other items were of good quality. The presentation was alright. I like the presentation of the bread and butter. The knife in the middle gives off steakhouse vibes. The blooming onion is really a nice presentation. When it comes to your terrible, it catches your eye. It is really eye appealing and makes you salivate. The steak was plated averagely. The portion to price is a scam. The bread and butter were free, so I'll take that. The blooming onion is honestly a really fair price since you share it with a lot of people. My issue is with the steak. The steak was $30. I would not pay anywhere near that price again for an outback steakhouse steak. Again the steak sucked, what gives them the authority to price the steak at that price point. I would pay $15 for the steak at most. Again the sides are whatever, so it does not help with the high price. Outback Steakhouse has to lower the price of its steaks. Again it was just a 12 oz steak, so it was not that big. The customer service was good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We came a bit before closing, and they were not upset with us. Ok, it was more like an hour and 30 before closing. The food came out at a relatively fast pace. There were a lot of us, so I am impressed with how fast the food came out. The ambiance is pretty nice. It has a nice decor to match the theme of the outback. The place was overall very clean. The parking is really good because they have a big parking lot. Came on a Thursday night around 7pm and was seated very quickly! Not too busy and service was very quick. The bread was warm and delicious as always and I ordered the 5 oz sirloin and choice shrimp (I chose the coconut shrimp) and it came with two sides: broccoli and mashed potatoes. All of the food came out piping hot and smelled delicious! The steak has a perfect medium rare and the shrimp was good, a little too thick on the breading and not enough marmalade came with the meal. She was courteous and quick to help us with coordinating our event and subsequently putting us in touch with Rob. We took my husband's mother here for her birthday lunch ( her choice). We got there at 12:20 pm and there was all of about 5 parties seated, the place was pretty empty. We walked in and no one was at the host station and it was several minutes before we saw any employee's. After we were seated our waiter came and asked the usual. We ordered a Blooming Onion which looked amazing however it was ery greasy and very salty. When we ordered my mother- in-law asked what kind of bread the prime rib sandwich came on, the waiter didn't know. I ordered the Bloo.in fried chicken and asked for the salad upgrade. When I got my plate the only thing on the plate was a small piece of boneless chicken, my salad came on a bowl before the rest of the lunch. My husband ordered a burger that looked pretty good. Both my husband and his mothers lunches came with fries and they both couldn't eat them they were so salty. I have to say when I see a place empty at lunch time I alway think it must be run down and dirty, but thankfully it was neither. The menu looks pretty good and besides the subpar lunch I would like to try a few things on the dinner menu. But photos in menus can be very deciving, case in point the Blooming Onion. Empty glasses dishes and wet bar top everywhere even though the bar was empty. 2. I ordered a ribeye steak, with mac & cheese, and they're loaded mashed potatoes, I also ordered the kookaburra wings, which was also amazing! Our server was Jonathan. What has happened to Outback Steakhouse? We haven't ordered from this restaurant ever before, and won't ever again. Restaurants in LA can be hit or miss because there are so many patrons, most operators could care less if they tick off a single diner. But I don't know how this place is still in business. With the current economy, we expected prices to be higher. We ordered delivery from Grubhub: two steaks (one prime rib, one porterhouse, and extra side salad, one appetizer, and two desserts. No delivery fees but $11 in other fees plus delivery tip came to $160. That's a casual dinner for two people. Okay, if the quality was there, but I've had better meals at Dennys. The lettuce in the salad (obviously bagged) was rusting and just north of wilting. The steaks were cold, flavorless and my Prime Rib was almost 1/4 fat. Just awful. They placed the porterhouse on top of French fries, so those arrived completely soggy and gross. The potatoes were good but the amount of toppings provided, laughable. The desserts were so sweet we couldn't finish them, They made no attempt to insulate the ice cream that accompanied mine when delivered so it was lukewarm soup upon arrival. Just sloppy, poor quality and lack of basic care. The highlight was that delivery was on time, but that's due to GrubHub, not the restaurant. To think that a dinner for four people could cost over $300 from this place is an absolute joke. Dinner at Bavel (DTLA) for 4 is not much more than that with exquisite food. All said, I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before we decided to give them ago. Next time, we'll cook ourselves, appreciate fresh food that tastes a million times better, and save a hundred bucks plus a stomach ache. read more

I have never been to outback and was excited to take my family to experience "Aussie food". We were seated after a short wait. A we waited. Finally a friendly waitress asked us if we had been waited on and we quickly took our order. A busboy brought us (4) 2 glasses of water and drinks. My cocktail was wrong. Our dinner was quickly delivered but my steak was highly salted and my baked potato was overwhelmed with bacon bits has were also highly salted. I received the bill and requested they remove the wrong cocktail (I ordered rum drink and received lavender lemonade. After the problem w the drink I payed and realized that I never got the cheesecake included in my meal. Both burgers and pasta were aok. Blooming onion was beyond oily. This place has become ridiculously bad. I'm giving 1 star for our waitress Daley, she was literally the best thing about our dinner last night! First I noticed that the chicken on the Barbie (used to be a fav) which consists of a chicken breast and broccoli is $17.50 now. Are you kidding?! Can you say RIP OFF? It's the same price as the blossom fried chicken and the Alice springs chicken. It really seems like they are over charging people who want to be healthy which is bad business IMO. The soup consists of couple of sips (supposedly a cup) of potato soup which was cold and watery and had a total of three tiny pieces of potato, they are obviously cutting this soup with a lot of water to make more profits at the expense of their customers. I used to love this soup now it's a joke. Thankfully our lovely waitress brought me one that was heated up and slightly more edible. Side note, if you add a cup of soup to a meal, it now costs $5. This is for a couple of sips of watered down, cold, no potato soup. ‍ We decided to get the steak (filet mignon) and lobster thinking it would be a better value at over $30 & $35 per plate. Boy were we wrong! The steak tasted like liver and was full of fatty parts. LIVER! Ugh. The lobster tail was a 1/2 of a tiny lobster tail and it tasted like shit too, it was literally two little bites. I swear I've never had a worse tasting lobster tail. The shrimp was a little better but they weren't completely deveined so I got a disgusting surprise and the breading was way too much. Sadly the salad (which I used to love) wasn't much better, I pulled more than a few dirty gross pieces of lettuce out of it, it was drowned in ranch and the croutons were so stale, I was sure they had been sitting out for hours, maybe days. Soggy stale croutons are gross. My friend didn't even eat his salad because of this. The good: The spicy sweet sauce for the shrimp was good. The baked potato was ok, the waitress was great. Who ever is running this place needs to step it up big time. I've never had a worse dining experience at an Outback as far as food goes. In the end we spent over $85.00 over $100 with tip. I can't stress enough what a colossal waste of money this was. Buyer beware. NOT RECOMMENDED. I hate to say it but if this is the new Outback standard, we should all avoid this place and let them go under. Shame on these companies trying to gouge people for crap quality food. I guess I'm not the only one getting RAW CHICKEN. 3 out of our 5 meals served cold. Our waitress was nice, and did what she could do being by herself with lots of tables. At first, we asked for our sides to be replaced since it was cold. She apologized and came back with new baked potatoes. How could baked potatoes be cold? I don't know. We ordered our streaks medium and they were pretty much well done burnt. But the kicker is when we get raw chicken. I pretty much lost my appetite at that point. Our waitress said she would send her manager over. After about 15 mins, he never came. She did bring us our bill, and i told her that the manager never came. She said, oh he wanted to "comp" us one free dessert...? No thanks, by this time I just wanted to leave. She went back and said that he would take out one meal and our appetizer. Still would have appreciated him coming to our table. Staff goes above and beyond! After not eating solid food for a week post operation all I could think about was Aussie Fries. I even called the store before to make sure they would 'layer' the fries and explained how excited I was for these silly fries. The ribs came with spicy sauce all over and had to be sent back twice, the second time they were breaded and fryed, i never heard of that, what a mess. My order came with so much seasoning on my shrimp, i couldn't taste the shrimp. I had to order butter for my potato, napkins, water was never refilled and by the time my friend got her ribs they way she ordered them, she lost her appetite. The bread was stale.
