We stopped by Wood Ranch for lunch on a weekend. We came in around 1pm and were seated immediately by the host. This eatery was busy yet not congested. There were only 2 families with bigger parties in the waiting area when we arrived. As the host takes us to our booth we noticed all the booths and dining seats were occupied. Excellent customer service by Junior. Thank you Junior. We informed him our child has peanut and tree nut food allergies. He made sure to inform the kitchen. Junior also checked on us several times, asked how we're doing and replenished our water. Our order was brought out within 15 to 20 minutes of ordering. Today's lunch order consisted of Wood Ranch Tri Tip with Mac & Cheese, Cheeseburger sliders and BBQ Chicken breast with fries. We were also given fresh garlic bread twice. It was good and fresh out of the oven. The BBQ chicken was flavorful and tender. It was not over cooked. The Tri Tip was medium rare just how my husband likes it. Mac & Cheese was not over saturated which he enjoyed. The Cheeseburger sliders were all tender and not over cooked. We look forward to dining at Wood Ranch Northridge again. read more

Allow us to start off by saying that Sundays are a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. Accompanied by David the manager who immediately assisted us. Making us feel like we were Vip's in this busy delicious establishment.. We come here about once every month and a half and it's always a good time. This is for the happy hour only. Woodranch just revamped their happy hour and I hadn't been in a long minute, so I set up a happy hour here last week. The new Hibiscus margarita sounded very intriguing so I got that. It was very good, a nice balance of tart and sweet. Since I generally need something to nibble on during happy hour/with cocktails, I got the fried onions - I'm an avowed hater of onions unless they are fried strings or caramelized into oblivion. These fit the bill perfectly. Note it's a huge portion so you don't have at least 2-3 other people you might be taking leftovers home! Wow, another visit to Wood Ranch in Northridge, California, near the corner of Tampa Boulevard and Plummer Street. There is always a little bit of a wait when you come here during dinner time, so I expect not to be seated right away unless you come when they're slow. There's plenty of seating inside the restaurant, so the wait usually goes by pretty quickly, depending on how many people are waiting. It's really not too long. I always wait in the car with my boys until they text us to let us know that our table is ready. I decided to come here with the family, and I got the fire roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful, and the mashed potatoes and broccoli hit all the right spots and definitely satisfied my hunger. We decided to share the onion straws. As you can see in the picture, we got the family portion. It was a lot, but with a family of four and two boys, we managed to go through it. My wife shared the four beef ribs, french fries, and baked potato with her father. She said that everything they got was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. She always enjoys coming here for special occasions. The boys got chicken tenders from the children's menu with french fries. I actually tried some of their chicken from the kids' meal, and I have to say, it was pretty good. And, of course, you can't forget the famous rolls that come with the meal. I don't know what they put in these things, but you have to have some every single time you go there. As soon as they put them on the table, they're basically calling your name: "Eat me!" I also made sure the waitress brought us plenty of ranch, of course, because my boys and I love ranch with our french fries. There's plenty of parking here since the parking lot is shared with a bunch of other places around the area, such as Red Robin, LongHorn Steakhouse, and Ross. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're celebrating a special occasion or if you just want some good ribs with plenty of ranch. Wood Ranch is definitely the place to go. C, "Amanda #1" because that's exactly what she is in our book! Every time we come in, the service is top-notch. This location is the best one compare to other locations. The meat are seasoned really well. Every part are covered with some glaze. Melt in your mouth baby back ribs. The garlic rolls are fantastic. One of my San Fernando Valley favorites. Note: it is one of the few chain/franchise bbq restaurants that offers beef ribs! Came here with my husband and sister-in-law. Our server, Ashley, was friendly and polite. As always, dinner is off to a great start with warm, soft buttery rolls. Cocktails are nice here. The Old Fashion seemed to be the most frequently served. Surprised they couldn't make a Negroni - they no longer stock Campari. Tried the Berry Smash which was refreshing and satisfying. We ordered a half-order of onion straws, 2 rib and roasted chicken combos (sides were fries, peanut coleslaw and baked beans) and 1 order of ribs plus the Natalie salad. Their coleslaw is my favorite of all with a light, sweet and tangy vinaigrette, peanuts and scallions. As usual, I ordered my ribs crisp, sauce on the side, but this time they were too crispy aka burnt. The chicken also was a little too charred although I hadn't requested any changes. Everyone else's order was fine. The restaurant has ample seating and accommodate large and small groups. A little too cold to sit on the patio at night but we look forward to warmer weather. Browsing Northridge Fashion Center, my friend and I eyed Wood Ranch, and I agreed to revisit after not having been for over a decade. One of my favorites is their free garlic bread. Our original server was great and always checked in on us, from taking our order to checking in on if we wanted more bread. I ordered the combo brisket and baby back ribs with mac and cheese. The brisket was a bit tough / dry. Since it was thin, it was edible, but the dipping sauce was fairly sweet, making it less enjoyable. The baby back ribs were also lightly brushed with a very sweet sauce. The meat, however, did fall off the bone like the server had described. Halfway into our meal, another server came to check in our drinks, one at a time, and then dropped them off in the incorrect order. Towards the end of the meal, I went in to finish the mac and cheese, which my friend had also ordered. We agreed that it was fairly thick though runny, but there was a missing ingredient, almost as if it were missing a kick and could be better. I had the privilege of sitting at junior's table for lunch on Saturday, May 24th and he was a delight! You would never guess that he was still in training. He was very polite, kind and he had a good sense of humor. Even though his section was busy, he always made sure that I was okay and if I had any more questions. I also heard from one of his other tables that they will always request Junior and they wanted to know his schedule, not in a creepy way, but his customer service was just top-tier. I did have a problem with my food, and it was no fault of the restaurant but junior and the manager Angel made sure that I was taken care of, including my other friend that decided to join me last minute. I went with the baked beans and fries, while he chose the corn on the cob and a baked potato, which came with sour cream and chives on the side. Everything was spot on. The chicken was grilled to perfection--juicy, flavorful, and beautifully charred with grill marks. The BBQ sauce had a great balance of sweet and savory. The baked beans had a nice smoky flavor and ideal texture. The fries were just how I like them--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and well-seasoned. The baked potato had a salted skin and was cooked perfectly, and even the corn on the cob was impressive--charred, juicy, and full of flavor. Service was just as impressive as the food.
