Had dinner here and it was pretty disappointed from the start. Corporate should be embarrassed by having their name on this restaurant. Took at at least 15-20 minutes to get seated. They were out of bread and baked potatoes. One of the extra dishes they brought us was not clean and no steak fork was provided to cut the sirloin steak. Was there about a week ago. Ordered the cheese burger and fries. The fries were hot and crisp. The burger was served open face and I noticed the lettuce was a bit brown and wilted. I asked if I could another burger without the lettuce. Got another burger with lettuce. The same brown wilted lettuce. Explained what was going on and in my option the food here is not healthy. If the cook serves old lettuce I am concerned what else is bad. Not for me. read more

What a bummer to see that this place has such low reviews... I had an excellent experience! I would say just from reading other reviews, it was not busy during the time I visited and people seem to be upset about wait times when it is busy. So judge accordingly if you are going to eat here. I was in and out in under an hour. This location is inside the airport to the far right. At the other end is Margaritaville. I was sat at a window seat which I loved! My server came right away and I already knew what I wanted. I got my bread and drink right away. My server was very attentive and refilled my pop 3 times. My food came out hot and my steak was cooked to a perfect medium. The ambiance is cool here and there is plenty of seating! I would absolutely come back here if I saw they weren't overly busy! Been here twice in the last week while having two wait hours on an American flight. Nice plan to have a table to work on the laptop and a decent food and beer. Angelina was friendly and a great waitress that made you feel welcome. Will be back on my next visit thru this terminal. read more

We went to the airport on Sunday and went to Outback. They had empty tables where you could see the many tvs. We asked to sit at one and were told no they weren't clean and they could not sit us there anyway because they had to divide up the servers. They sat us by the glass windows where we could barely see the TVs. It was not crowded. We asked if we could put on a football game and were told that they don't change the tvs. They had a lot of screens and there was one game on tv. Most importantly we ordered 2 chicken sandwiches and fries/ $22 ea. The chicken was so tiny and there was barely any lettuce. Really not sure why this place has such low reviews. It definitely does not have a full menu, but I would never expect such a thing at an airport. The food was prepared quickly and was definitely above average. The service was good and the sirloin steak was tasty. That was the only steak specifically on the menu. I had a meal at the DTW Outback on the day that, according to online news sources, was the busiest day in US air travel history. You could definitely tell it was a busy day for the Outback staff, because they had a long line waiting to get in. I sat at the bar, and it looked like it hadn't been bussed in a while. Then, I sat and waited. And waited. Finally, I placed my order and waited. And waited. It took 30 mins for my food to arrive. Thankfully, the broccoli was delicious, and the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. There is no urgency. They do not seem to understand that people need to make a flight. Takes an hour to get a meal and while waiting you have to ask for drinks, they don't seem to care about keeping your drinks full. If there was another option/bar close to the 30 gates I would go there. Takes forever to close your tab. Obviously I came here when I was waiting for my flight, but my flight was slightly delayed, so I stopped here to grab a drink while I waited. The bartenders were very friendly and at tentative. I did not eat any food while I was here as I had already had dinner. This isn't my normal spot that I go, but it was close to my gate, so I liked that it wasn't too tucked away (as some of the other places I normally go to are). Let's start with a good cleaning this place was filthy! Food and wine were way over priced. I didn't receive food I ordered, menu said fresh seasonal vegetables. But came out of bag. And with soy based butter. My wife who has food allergies ended up with salmon and lettuce for her meal. No sweet potato like other Outback Steakhouse's which was one of the reasons we came here as my wife cannot have regular potato. Makes me wonder if this place is actually adhering to the other standards like frying in beef tallow. I will NEVER come here again and would NOT recommend. Cross contamination hazards are nothing to mess around with. Gives Outback Steakhouse a bad name and is a safety hazard for those with allergies. Service on the other hand, very bad, we had to wait for the staff to take their sweet time to seat us down, staff had very bad attitudes, and finally they didn't want to seat us down where we wanted because there is a "cycle", I understand that each waiter gets its turn( I worked as host at a restaurant I know what is like) but if the customer wants to seat down at a place in specify the cycle matters no more and you seat them where they want.
