I ordered some food online and when I went to pick it up at the curbside spot, they were full so I parked in a parking spot next to them. Waited for 20 minutes and no one came out so I called them and they said they were busy and to come inside to pick up the food, no problem. So I went inside and waited another 15 minutes to get the food which I found out was sitting their for awhile. When I got home 10 minutes later I opened the food up to a bunch of cold burned to a crisp ribs, they were so burnt that they were not edible. Me and some friends came here at 9 for their happy hour. The restaurant was dead and only a few other people here. They were out of ahi tuna which is what my wife wanted. All 5 of us received soggy food and tasted like it had been sitting under the warming light for hours. Cheesy fries were soggy. Chicken salad was soggy. Chicken wings were soggy. Fries and burgers were soggy. Even the celery was soggy and a deep green color which was really weird. I had also ordered an alcoholic beverage and still hadn't received it by the time our food was brought out. I had to go to the bar and wait for the bar tender to come out from the kitchen and tell her I'm still waiting for my drink, she said the waitress never told her and it was past last call. They had to ask the manager if they could make my drink. Thankfully everything was pretty cheap because of happy hour, but the food and service was terrible. I went in on a Saturday night with my family. The restaurant wasn't full. Only a few tables. And it took about 30+ minutes to get our food. We get seated, order waters, one of our waters were spilled by the waitress onto the table and a majority of it made it into my purse but it wasn't a big deal since it didn't damage anything too serious. Just soaked everything... Tried to order the clam chowder. They were out. Ordered the bloomin' onion. It was soggy, over-seasoned and tasted burnt. I ordered a burger to split with someone and ordered it well done, it was pink in the middle. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Food's pretty good. My steak was cooked properly & the potato was also nice, but arrived w/o butter. Service was lackluster, slow, & unenthusiastic. My children finished their meals long before the adults got their meals. While we did ask for the children's meals to come first, this was extreme. My meal was supposed to come w/ 2 sides--I only got 1. our server left used plates on the table long after we were finished w/ them. We asked her to turn off the ceiling fan, but she never did. She did bring butter for my spud, but only when I was 1/2 through w/ my meal. She also never bothered to refill water glasses or ask about another round of drinks. We had a great experience. Short wait, cheaply priced steaks and good food. Came here after my sister's gymnastics meet. Family of 5 was seated promptly. We had a GREAT server who was very friendly and fended off my Dad's compliant of a weak whiskey & 7 very well. Brought out one that was up to his expectations. Then again, I remember Denny's being the place to be when I was a kid and how terrible it was 20 years ago...now, it seems tat Outback Steakhouse is the Denny's of the 90's...Am I really that old? Most restaurants in Union Gap/Yakima are extremely under-whelming. You usually get average to mediocre service and passable food. However, this trip to the Union Gap location of Outback just blew me away! Our waitress was amazing! She was so polite, provided exemplary service, and even brought out some garlic mashed potatoes for my 9-month old son. The food - magnificent. I know it's just a chain-steakhouse, and with the Outback if you order something cheap on the menu it's cheap meat with lots of flavor to cover how tough it is (which is why we usually order something else). The prime-rib was amazing, and I swear that was the best lobster tail I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The chefs that evening were also providing exemplary food. Everything was clean. Bathroom was a bit chilly but I'll let that slide. We weren't left standing waiting for a table, our drinks never ran dry, and even though my son was a little too young to really find use out of a coloring book and crayons they brought them out to entertain him. I would like to say I'll visit again, but we are moving from the area. This was a great last hurrah in Union Gap. read more

Probably my favorite steakhouse in Yakima. We usually have the 6 ounce steak and they have been very consistent in quality and their steaks are always cooked to perfection. The prices are fair. We especially like going during the happy hour. Where to start, my boyfriend and I decided to go try Outback for the first time and it was probably the best decision we made that night. We walked in and were seated very quickly, the waitress Jarese was EXTREMELY nice. I cannot say enough about her, she made our experience a great one! A lot of the times when you go out you pay for the service not the food and this time we paid for both! I don't know how OUTBACK stays in business. They should change their name to "OUTHOUSE" because their service "STINKS" and their food tastes like "SHIT"! We went there for dinner last night around 7:30 pm for my birthday (63rd) (9/28/2018). The service was marginal to the point we had to stop eating BEFORE WE EVEN GOT STARTED and wait for the proper amount of butter & sour cream. The food was way over priced and horrible. Even their water was not pleasant to drink for some reason. Our Filets had an unflattering seasoning sprinkled over them. However, they were cooked perfectly. The baked potatoes were freshly cooked (not yellow and pasty) but barely warm enough to melt the butter. The unlimited shrimp were horrible (only 2 choices). The garlic shrimp were very small and the sauce was salty and unpleasant in flavor. The shrimp were small low budget and of poor quality and nothing close to the advertised picture.They were out of mashed potatoes. Both our Cesar salads were the worst tasting salads we have ever eaten. The bartender came over halfway through our meal to fill our water glasses and rested the water pitcher on our glasses (a BIG no no in food service). On a positive note my FREE birthday sundae was good. The carrot cake was sprinkled with cinnamon and that was all you could taste as if they were trying to cover up the poor quality of the carrot cake. I really hate to say so many negative things... but wait there's more. However, I was very reluctant to go here in the first place as I went to one in Salem Oregon when they first opened years ago and was not impressed. However, that first experience was much better than this one. My dinner companion made the comment that it was like they rationed out every little item. We had to ask for more butter and sour cream for our bakers and more butter for our bread. The all you can eat shrimp were very slow to be refilled. I would not only "NOT" recommend OUTBACK but will never go there again. It was a horrible meal and experience for 2.
