We have been shopping at Outdoor Equipped for a few years now. We recently returned because our special order board shorts had arrived. We love coming here because of the staff, the sales and the treats they have behind the counter for our dear French Bull Dog. Cheryl was especially patient and helpful while we searched for the perfect pair of sun glasses. Together my husband and I must have tried on 20 different pairs. Finally she helped us pick out a pair for each of us. This store is always clean and the displays are thoughtful and well organized. We look forward to our next visit. read more

I ordered some hiking boots through Amazon. It wasn't until after I placed my order that I saw the bad reviews and complaints about their restocking fee on returns. I don't know if they've changed their policy or not, but I did end up having to return the boots (they were too small) and I reordered another pair from another vender. Outdoor Equipped did give me my full refund. Not sure if I just got lucky or what. Overall, my experience was good. They shipped the boots quickly, and in fact, they arrived a day earlier than expected. read more

Bought a pair of $250 boots from them and tried to warranty them as the boots where falling apart and they said they where a few days past the one year warranty and they couldn't do anything. Do not order from OutdoorEquipped off of Amazon!!! I ordered a pair of pants from OutdoorEquipped for $56 and free shipping. After trying on the pants, which did not fit, I sent them back (undamaged and in all original packaging) for a refund. The refund was $21 (TWENTY ONE DOLLARS) LESS than what I paid for the item. Upon inquiry, I was informed that OutdoorEquipped charges you for the original shipping cost, the return shipping cost AND a 20% restocking fee - FOR A PAIR OF PANTS! It cost me $21 to try on a pair of pants, that's 38% of the cost of the item. OutdoorEquipped claims they are just trying to recoup the costs they spent. There is no way a 20% restocking fee is legit, especially for a pair of pants (it's not like it was an appliance or something, it was just clothing) - OutdoorEquipped is padding their profit at the Amazon customer's expense. This company should be renamed to Outdoor Thieves. They completely take advantage of the customer by failing to transparently disclose about their 20% restocking fee. I purchased a pair of boots for $336.97 and was refunded only $257.58. They kept $67.91 PLUS $12 for the shipping fee. The boots did not even cost $12 to ship! They cost $5. I know this because they give you a pre paid UPS return label which is a $5 label itself. Therefore the total refund to me should have been $331.97. I hope that this company gets what they deserve and Amazon stops working with them. read more

I returned Thorogood boots (good, US made boots that have treated me well the past couple pairs) through Amazon that were too large. I noted in the return that there was a stain on the front of the boot, possibly a manufacturing defect (it is a red dye or glue or something). They accused me of staining the boot and would not accept my return, sending them back to me. I never wore them aside from trying them on so I can't figure how I would have damaged them. Again, these are too large (I ordered wide and shouldn't have and would've kept but they slipped off my foot) so I can't use them meaning I am $180 in the hole for boots that I supposedly damaged even though they don't fit. Their Amazon page is obviously manipulated with only good reviews as they are negatively reviewed elsewhere. I will send a complaint to Thorogood and to Amazon with pictures. If you don't like your online purchase you're screwed. The boots we ordered on Amazon from Outdoor Equipped did not look the same as in the photos and were very uncomfortable for my son so we returned them. We were refunded only about 55% of what we originally paid. The seller charged us for the shipping to send it back which was about $5, another $12 to cover their shipping (which came standard ground so there's no way it cost that much), and a 20% restocking fee. So $10 to place an item back on a shelf. Shameful. They need to get with the times and understand e-commerce and what customers need and expect from online retailers. read more

They would not send a label and told me that i had to send back at my own cost. the person i talked to on the phone was very pleasant however what i needed from them was not met. The website was easy to navigate however a lot of the products were out of stock and no date of when they would be back in stock again. For a Veteran Owned company this is a bad example. This companies return policy is awful. I purchased a Jacket (via Amazon) for $156. now some how they are able to sell a Hurley Jacket which sells for $250 (nike.com) and I thought it was too good to be true. So knowing this was $100 cheaper then Nike, I bought the jacket. It took a while to get to me (2 weeks to ship) and the unfortunately when I got it, it was the wrong size. So using Amazon Prime I was able to send it right back..... Now the issue is when I received my refund it was missing $40 , after contacting Amazon I am told to go through the seller, I see on the website they are charging me a 20% restocking fee !!! now as a fellow Veteran I find this to be in poor taste, do not buy from this company unless you are 100% sure that you are right on what you want, they will not be helpful if you need to return an item. read more

Good afternoon,  on June 23rd I made an order through Amazon for a hat, order # 112-1337639-8817046.  I have still NOT received the item which I actually NEEDED a week ago...thanks.  OutdoorEquipped was the seller.  Again, note that I made the order on June 23rd.  The order did not ship till July 3rd. On July 4th the tracking stops.  Nothing.  I have repeatedly emailed my concerns and wish for a refund or the equivalent item OVERNIGHTED.  I am repeatedly put off by your representatives  and never given any HINT of an effort at resolution.  At one point the other day i was told by your company that the package might be lost and that "sorry" no refund could come for at least five days.  See, i didn't order from USPS, i ordered from OutdoorEquipped via Amazon.  Amazon guarantees my purchase, which for some reason your company doesn't seem to feel like it needs to honor.   To give me an even worse taste in my mouth, your mission statement goes on to mention the importance of "honor" "integrity"  family run, veteran owned etc...which as far as your company has shown so far is just so much hot air.  Understand, I placed my order June 23rd, it was shipped July 3rd. I still do not have the item I ordered and today is July 18.  Not only that, I have received nothing but stonewalling from your customer service.  Shipped July 3rd?  Did you even actually have this in your warehouse?  Please refund my money so I can buy from an actual honest seller or overnight this order to me.  I have bought thousands of dollars in orders from Amazon over the years and have NEVER had a problem or been stonewalled in the way OutdoorEquipped has done to me.   It is shameful.  I am not in the habit of being this relentless in having a problem resolved, but I have also never been so disrespected by a seller.  Please forward this to your "veteran" owner of this company, or the CEO or president.   I'm serious. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY -- TRUST ME! My wife purchased an item from them through Amazon for $170 and the item never arrived. We contacted them and they said "once the package leaves our facility, we no longer have full control of what happens next." We have gone back and forth with them, and are now more than a month after the purchase with no boots and no reimbursement. Just a request for our "kind understanding." Well, I do understand now, they are simply a terrible company with no regard for the satisfaction of their customers. After calling and leaving a message on their answering machine (they dont have an option to talk with a customer service representative) and asking several times for them to call me so we can discuss the situation, I have still not ever recieved a phone call from them. Found out too late that this is an Amazon third party seller. I ordered an Arborwear two layer zip up jacket in Hunter green. I should have been suspicious when my delivery date was weeks from the date I actually ordered it. I finally got ahold of customer service 844-419-8245 after calling the store in Wilmington, NC. I wanted to cancel the order and got the run around that the order was already in process and could not be canceled - but that I could refuse it when delivered. The reason the order could not be canceled is that is was shipped from the manufacturer - Arborwear is now made in China - although Whelfe (the customer service person) would not disclose where the manufacturer was located. I will also be calling Amazon and making sure they follow-up with the return of this item to ensure that I get a full refund with no return charges. read more

I'm writing this just to make public my deep disappointment with Outdoor Equipped. As a costumer we usually look to find great deals. But I don't believe money is everything, I believe a great costumer service and a truly transparent system are what we look for when we buy online. After buying for the first time a pair of boots (I'm gonna call the brand of the boots "T") with this company I was informed that it would take until 5 business days so my order could be "processed and shipped" as if we are in the age of the dial up internet where connections are weak. On the other hand just yesterday (11/20) I made another purchase but this time straight from "T" and funny enough, a very small purchase. Today I received notice from "T" that my order had been shipped with the estimate arrival of 3 -4 business days just as the website informs by the time we closed the deal. I'm completely frustrated with the methods of Outdoorequipped especially when their own attendants claim that it's normal this kind of procedure and they can do nothing about the misinformation regarding the website. I can assure them that they lost a good potential client on the very first deal. At last I really hope Outdoorequipped is going to be at least able to ship my item as promised, only after 5 days after.
