My rule of thumb is to get 3 quotes and pick the middle. I also tend to believe that projects can double in time and cost. Juan and Outertainments asked about our budget and then stuck to it (the only of the 3). Juan was very genuine in his feedback when we were getting our initial quote. Unlike other quotes where it was "yes" to everything (inevitably blowing the budget away), he helped us understand the value of some choices over others (e.g. cement vs pavers). Since this type of project was unfamiliar to us and we weren't certain on details beyond some high level things, he was able to take our suggestions and help us understand the final results. He was also flexible with giving us a few quotes as well as understanding what aspects could be split out to future projects. Abel (the foreman) and his crew came out and were PHENOMENAL. They were thorough and professional. They went above and beyond regularly. I joked with him on the last day that I'll be seeing him soon when we're ready for the front yard to be updated. We had a strange issue. The contractor who installed the outdoor bbq we did not like and wanted to change it. Juan came up and helped us understand the problems and what is the best options. He did not wish to upsell and gave enough time to explain everything. Juan came up with an honest estimate and options for granite. He was upfront with the granite selection and was open to reusing our existing doors, warmer, sink, and lights. They were removed and replaced with pavers. The final product is incredible; we get so many reviews from whoever comes to our backyard. They not only completed it in the scheduled time but also did an excellent clean-up after the job. First of all let me start saying that Juan, Abel and Crew are awesome people you can trust/rely on. We had an existing patio, wooden deck laid on a concrete slab and concrete slates. They removed and replaced with pavers. They asked for the requirements and were very good and fast in understanding what we wanted. Their work was perfect. They not only completed it in the scheduled time but also did a great clean up after the job. I asked them for sealer for pavers for wet look after a month's time that will be done in July. A couple days later I realized he hadn't given me a time frame for plans or the next step so I sent him a text, which he did not respond to. Two weeks after our initial visit, I had heard nothing so I called him. We were not in a rush at this point since we were looking at a separate project and deciding which we wanted to proceed with, but Juan said he would have something to me the next day. Very happy with the work and how my outdoor kitchen turned out. Like many other outdoor companies, it is a very busy time. I called Juan after being blown off from a couple other companies and he responded right away. Originally we got everything handled through email, text and a couple phone calls and Juan came out to make sure all the measurements and layout looked good before starting. Even after all was measured, Juan was patient with us as we changed things to accommodate (and then we changed our mind on it) our pizza oven. We decided to get a cart for the pizza oven instead of having it stationary on the counter...much better! The steps to get it done went smooth and involved fabrication and install of the frame, couple days later, got the sides, stucco, drawers installed. The long-pole was the countertops. We went back and forth on the countertop a couple times with Juan giving photos of different slabs as he walked the granite isles for us. Once we got the slab, it went smooth and completed out the install. Overall great looking kitchen, good interactions (you do have to be patient as Juan is busy, but he is very responsive and will answer right away or return your call or text quickly). He is there onsite when the work is being done and makes sure it is a quality job. We absolutely love our new space! read more

Purchased over $20k worth of Twin eagles Outdoor Appliances from this company. They were the best bid that I got, but now looking back best bid doesn't go hand in hand with best service. When receiving the quote I asked how long it would take to get the appliances, Juan stated it would take 2 days if paying by check, 1 if credit card then a week to receive. Sounded good, however it took well over 2 weeks. Juan was all ecstatic for the job, wanted to find out if he could install them I stated I had someone, but he said that if I needed any help to call and they also service. Well turns out one of the heaters was missing the back piece to it and the barbecue was missing the rotisserie stick. Contact Outertainments, they respond by saying that Twin eagles wouldnt ship that way and they will not help. Wow, how much could these parts cost that Outertainments couldn't help cover!? Juan is an honest, hardworking contractor-so this review is really for him. There were some rough spots during the patio project, ie. the project took longer than expected, the workers got off-task quite a bit, the communication was lacking, not enough stones were ordered- however, once I spoke with Juan and got him caught up with what was happening on the project, things started to shape up. Also to make up for all the inconveniences, Juan applied a complementary sealant on the tiles which was not part of the original plan or price. For that reason, I would recommend Juan (and his one worker Raul) only if you can work directly with them and no one else. read more

Worst Company ever to work with. Unreliable, messy, filled with empty promises, no follow through. A "two week" job, turned into a 6 month nightmare and we still don't have a BBQ. They even built the structure without coming over to measure, then tried to charge me for frame retrofit when all along, it could have been avoided if he came to measure. My husband and I met Juan at a home show and were immediately interested in Juan's cool outdoor TV/Fireplace. We hired him 9 months later to build a backyard outdoor fireplace and complete a terraced level on our hillside. I was reluctant initially with the entire process, not having any solid recommendations for his work or and after reading some of the reviews on Yelp. However the end result was a complete success! The fireplace is beautiful and the last terraced level of our yard has been utilized with more entertainment space, all due to his recommendations. He does a great job.
