Come for the beautiful view of Yellowstone, but don't stay for the food. We've definitely learn our lessons here. But after a long, tiring day of sightseeing, who wants to cook? There are not that many options to eat at Gardiner, our bar was low but Outlaw's Pizza exceeded our expectation. As you walked in, you are warned there are NO pasta or salads served here. Fair enough! It also looks a bit run down but we were seated right away. The 5 of us shared an order of chicken wings, some fries and 3 large pizzas. Note that all appetizers are fried in peanut oil here. I haven't seen that in yearssss in LA, and boy were the fries and wings extra crispy and tasty. For the pizzas, we had the Outlaws (ground beef, bacon, tomatoes, green peppers), The Cowboy (Ground beef, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives) and the Frontier (Canadian Ham & Pineapple). Surprisingly the Frontier was the 1st one to go, the whole pizza was gone. The next favorite was The Frontier, love the crispiness of the crust. We definitely had ordered too much, however the leftovers were just as good the next morning for breakfast. With expensive restaurants all around the touristy town, Outlaw's Pizza pricing is very reasonable. read more

Ordered for pickup a large pepperoni, sausage and extra cheese. Also ordered mozzarella sticks and these corn poppers after they were recommended. I wanted to like this pizza but I have to say the crust is horrible, no lift in it and lacked any flavor or depth beyond the cardboard flavor and texture. The sauce was processed. The saving grace is we ordered toppings - so we ate those. The mozzarella sticks were average and the corn poppers were, different and not my forte. Very few pizza options in this area and I suggest making this your last resort. Also for the price they no doubt cleared 10x the cost to make it. read more

We stopped in for dinner on a recent road trip to Yellowstone. The staff were really busy, but they were friendly and professional despite the rush. I loved the rustic decor. We ordered the corn fritters (?) and the Gambler pizza. The corn fritters were quite the surprise, they were more like fried creamed corn balls. They were good, just not what I expected. I expected them to be more like hush puppies. The Gambler pizza was a meat pizza with bacon, sausage, pepperoni, and ground beef. It was really good. Don't give 1-star ratings often. Perhaps by Gardiner standards, it could eke out 2 stars as it's pretty challenging to find a really good dining experience of any kind in town. When we ordered, the tipoff was that there was "no small pizzas available." Well - that means they don't make their own crust. Yep, pre-made cardboard crust with some canned sauce thrown on along with a few toppings. Ambience - let's call it "80s Pizza Hut." Highlight was the service, which was polite and reasonably attentive. Some reviews have panned the other pizza alternative in town (Yellowstone Pizza near the park entrance). While it is also not anything to write home about (we ate at both), it is a much better option that this establishment. read more

The waiter was great and everyone was very nice. Also the atmosphere was great. However, all good things come at a cost. The pizza seemed oddly similar to the frozen premade kind and there was no pasta or salad bar as advertised. Due to these circumstances I have left a 2 star review and stand firm in my decision. Additionally, upon further research it has come to my attention that Carl B a dedicated patron from 23 days prior ran into the same misfortune. Just want to say the pizza is tasty. Ordered one to go while waiting at the bar on the 1st floor. Service is another thing. The bar is understaffed. I sat down at the bar and made direct eye contact and said hello to the server and she looked back and gave an annoyed sigh and went about her business. I get that you're busy, but NOT acknowledging waiting customers is just bad customer service. Finally she acknowledged my friend that just stepped to the bar while I was already there waiting. Pizza took about 45 minutes to come out. Delicious pizza, but perhaps go to the upper floor where the restaurant is to order pizza? Anything to avoid the horrid service downstairs. Nice decor, nice waiter (accept he forgot part of our order. You can only buy fried stuff or pizza. We ordered fried zucchini and fried onion rings (same batter - good taste), and pineapple black olive pizza. Pizza was yuck, but we were hungry and had to wait a long time to get our order (1 hour). The poor couple behind us had to wait longer because they "forgot to place the order." I wanted sweet potato fries, but they were out. Overall, great atmosphere, sorry service, and nasty food. First Thursday night NFL game of the year and our gang was looking for a place to watch it and Outlaw's delivered big time. Old, western bar atmosphere with an inviting group made this the perfect place for a football game. The pizza was outstanding and the beer was served cold in a frosted mug. The bar has a few slot machines and games to enjoy as well. Due to being short staffed, the main dining room was closed, but I was very impressed with the staff that night. They were hard working and made sure we were well taken care of. All in all, a great place to catch a game with some good pizza and beer. read more

Okay pizza...kind of in between frozen pizza and chain pizza. Would probably take better if you had a couple beers.

If I could give absolutely zero stars I would. Walk in and the first thing is the sign read that there was no salad or pasta. So we decided to each get a small pizza. Couldn't do that either. They were out of small pizzas. We split a medium half and half pie. When it came out, there was barely any sauce, cheese, or toppings. I had two slices and left the rest. I've never left a review in my life but this experience was special. It's impossible to screw up pizza. High profit margin, easy to make, quick to serve. However this place is clearly out to set records. They actually managed to destroy every aspect. 1 1/2 hours for two completely burnt and over-priced 'pizza's'. We had animals get in our trash that evening. The only thing left was that 'pizza'. Completely untouched. Not even fit for animals. The box would have been a better alternative. The decor of the restaurant is quaint with different fixtures of sandals, guns spurs, and shackles. The pizza and wings that we ordered came out and were good. Pizza was reminiscent of what we got at home. They seem to be out of most of their beers on the menu. So we decided on a red ale, which was OK. Service is short handed and individuals helping were inexperienced. It is sad to watch customers come in and then get up and go. We're not being waiting on for 15 plus minutes. Good pizza. Atmosphere the setting is less than ideal , little run down, needs some upkeep. It's a bar with some casino games, dingy. After trying Yellowstone pizza the night before, it was absolutely the worst tasting pizza I've ever had ! Ok, I really don't know why this only has 3 stars maybe it's because people in the summer get impatient or whatever or just really rude to the staff, but this pizza is legit. Erin, the front of the house/bar lady was great! She was pleasant and got our order promptly. This is one of the better experiences around here that I have enjoyed. I can't rave enough about this pizza. Crust is homemade, sauce homemade. Just wow! Delicious! If you are having to wait, I promise it's worth it, have a little patience for where you're at. Tourists Beware! For 3 reasons. 1) pizza here is not great, not even good; it's better than a Red Baron frozen grocery 'za but not better than any national chain pizza you've ever had. 2) Service was terrible; we ate downstairs in the bar/casino area and were flat out ignored as I waited 5 minutes _at the bar_ to order; we were eventually rescued by the waitress from upstairs who came down to help (thank you). And the place was quiet. 3) They SNEAK in a 20% tip and don't tell you (regardless of the size of your party, since we're just 2 people). You won't catch this when you are finalizing your tab on the little credit card machine (they really should tell you that you've already handsomely tipped for the poor service!). So we -- feeling bad for the bad waiter -- then tipped another 20% on top of that! Even in Gardiner there have to be better places.... read more

Ok. So have seen the reviews about this place....stop an think about it, this town is SUFFERING from Yellowstone being shut, so...places are running on low staff, low customer counts etc... We arrived, the young lady ( Jenny ) was running the place on her own, and succeeding! Food: medium pizza ( Cowboy) was fresh, very tasty and cooked to perfection! Beer: range of the usual rubbish ( Bud etc) and a good range of local brews...I was impressed! Prices: beer was great prices, pizza was ok. Overall: Jenny was a dream! Food was good. Great food. Strange experience. We decided to eat dinner here instead of elsewhere because it was walking distance to our hotel, which meant we could secure parking for the night and not have to worry there wouldn't be any later. The outside of the restaurant advertises a salad bar as well as pizza and pasta. It does also mention there is a bar and casino on the outside. What caught us by surprise was that the building is very large and spacious and yet they only have the bar and casino area open to customers. There was evidently "to go" order pickup upstairs but nothing else. We are a party of 7 - 4 kids and 3 adults and were initially sat at 2 tables far enough apart from each other (not next to) that we couldn't have a conversation, nor would it be convenient to share a pizza or appetizers. We wound up pulling 2 chairs over to the other table so we could all sit together. This also allowed another family of 3 to be seated shortly after we arrived. The menu was pretty limited. I didn't see any kind of salad bar or pasta offered. We got the mozzarella sticks, breaded zucchini, and a large pepperoni pizza. The food was delicious with generous portion sizes. Our server was the only one with at least 5 tables plus the bar to handle on her own, so service was understandably a little slow but it was clear she was trying her best. Overall, good food. Just not what we expected. I'd still eat here again if we weren't hoping for a salad bar to go with our pizza. read more

I think the thing that works best for them is that in a town where everything closes early , this place is open till late and tired and weary travelers from the park as well as locals seem to find respite in that fact . After trying almost all options nearby , we stopped here to get some food for the road. You order at the counter and grab drinks downstairs and since we were doing take-out we decided to wait outside where we found some empty tables. The places was brimming with people and the staff was clearly overwhelmed . we ordered Chicken wings , Jalapeno Poppers , chicken strips and two medium Pizza. They initially gave a wait time for 50 minutes , which was then further increased . Food was good but the wait time for over an hour was a dampener , we did order some more stuff in the meanwhile from the Taco place across from them .They had an arcade downstairs along with a bar but it takes considerable time to get the bartenders attention . The best food at the best price in town. They have limited dine in seating and a lot of takeout orders. The pizza was excellent but you are better off calling ahead because it usually takes 35-45 minutes before your food is ready on a normal night. The young lady handling the bar and dining area handled nine orders at the same time while doing the bar tending and being the fry cook. She did a great job but could really use some help. Medium pizza with 2 toppings and 2 sodas was under $25 with tip. There also is no longer a salad bar (I assume it was a covid casualty). read more

I don't know why this place has bad reviews, because the food and beer is great, as is the awesome Jen, our server and bartender. She busted her butt all night and we could tell she was stressed, because they were understaffed, but she smiled ear to ear, when we said we thought she looked like Carrie Underwood. Honestly, based on the star count, we didn't intend to go here. We had our eye on places that had 4+ stars. But we are here in off season of October, and other places weren't open. I think Outlaw's wasn't quite prepared to be one of the only places in Gardiner open, because they were running out of food. Luckily we got there in time to order a pizza and some breadsticks. False advertising! Their sign says "Pizza, Pasta and Salad". We got inside and the man at the front said "We haven't had salad in quite sometime".
