I believe it was around $15-17 per foot long sandwich and so worth it with it lasting us all day. The bread is soft and not too much, with a generous amount of fillings and meat inside. I asked for extra pepperocinis and really topped it off for me !! Small place but has a few seating options. Go support this local biz!

On our last day, tired of snacks from the grocery store for breakfast, we looked for a restaurant to have a real meal and found the Deli very close to our hotel. As I mentioned, subs at lunch were great and, since they are open for breakfast, we ate there. Not many tables inside but most of their business is takeout so no issues there. Breakfast offerings are limited but great. I had a bacon/egg/cheese croissant and fishing partner had the waffles. Both highly recommended. Other items offered included omelets which we did not try. If we were thinking correctly we would have grabbed a couple subs for lunch and regretted this oversight later in the day!

There is a shelf right next to the cash register where you can grab whichever ones you want and bring it back to your table. We were already trying these before we had our food. The cafe itself is super cute and cozy with plants all around and different pieces of art. They even sell items from local artists including beef tallow lotion and earrings. They have a clean bathroom and an outdoor eating area. They have a vast menu for lunch where the sandwiches are names after dogs and a smaller menu for breakfast. We go there around 11 and were able to order from both so unsure if there is a time limit for either. The staff were so sweet and gave their recommendations and even though it's a cafe, they will bring out your food for you when it's ready. We did still bring our dishes back to the counter, unsure how they generally do that though. We asked for pickles and they kindly gave us some. The burritos were huge and filling but the sandwiches themselves were also good. Unsure what names were but I didn't love the one with the carrots in them. The staff recommended the breakfast sandwich with the biscuit, and although it was good, the biscuit was not the best choice. It broke so easily and made a mess. Unsure of the name of the drink but it was like a lemonade and it was delicious. Definitely would come back and try more hot sauce though

Picked up sandwiches twice to bring into the park and they were a welcome meal after a morning of hiking. Loved that they featured gifts and things to purchase from local artists and makers. They were able to seat several tables of 2, but we were a party of 3 and a baby so I guess that's difficult here. We decided to go elsewhere and would try to come back here another day. The host recommended we try to come before 530 cause they get really busy after that. We ended up coming the following day for a late lunch. It was a whole different experience and vibe. The (same) host seemed way more relaxed probably cause they were close to closing for their mid day break and it wasn't busy at all. I Our server was attentive and the food was great. We were able to get a chicken breast and French fries for my 1 year old baby (who has a bland and picky palate). This makes mom happy. I had the best salad with chicken. Fantastic! Husband had the bison pork sausage sandwich, he loved it. Mother in law had the Mac n cheese, she also enjoyed it. The wonderland beer was great, definitely recommend it especially since it's made specifically for the restaurant. If you're a part of more than 2 people it's probably best to go early in the day like we were told. I'd definitely eat here again if we come back to the area.

Adults in the family hot half roasted chicken and the elk chili. Chicken was excellent - crispy skin, well seasoned, cooked perfectly. The elk chili was tasty, no complaints. Onion rings were hot and fresh, and a half dozen local beers were on tap. Overall the menu is a bit small but decent. The bar area has TVs but is separated from the dining room and no kids are allowed in due to the fact it's a casino in there. Staff was friendly if a little scattered. I'd come back.

There is a variety of artwork, from fun posters to beautiful nature photos along the walls. For the dinner service, we also appreciated the candlelight feel with instrumental pop music in the background. We stayed primarily in the dining area but also noticed that the restaurant appears to have a bar and maybe casino in the backroom? A huge plus is a souvenir shop featuring tons of Huckleberry products next door. Now on to the food! We were very impressed. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and I ordered the bison burger. The servers were all so friendly and kind and super helpful, recommending the bison to be cooked medium. The food portions were generous, the fries were crispy, and the bison burger was juicy with the right amount of tomato, lettuce, pickles, and melted Swiss cheese to make the flavors pop. Could you tell how much we loved the food? To top it all off, we ordered dessert and had the most delicious Huckleberry cobbler with Huckleberry ice cream. I asked the waitress if that was too much Huckleberry, and she said the ice cream was a hit -- it really made the dessert. Oddly, it was reminiscent of breakfast, but in the best way. The cobbler was warm, the Granola was crunchy, and the ice cream was cool and sweet. The medley of textures honestly made this the best dessert I've had this year. Hats off to the Yellowstone Mine staff and chefs for making the start of our trip so memorable!

While small in size and selection, GSG (solely an acronym and not meant to sound like a new street…read moredrug) is the closest shop to the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Since addresses are practically non-existent in Gardiner, MT (check out Google Maps if you don't believe me), just go all the way to the far west end of the main shopping strip on Park Street or simply ask one of the locals. GSG is a gift shop with a lot of key chains, bumper stickers, knick-knacks and cute children's t-shirts. Next door, like all the other souvenir shops in Gardiner, is a little cafe selling sweets and coffee. GSG's cafe seems to be the only cafe in town to actually have locals in it drinking their coffees while passing countless hours of the day away (most likely gossiping about own townies and homely, outdoorsy tourists). I recommend Yellowstone Gifts & Sweets down the street but both stores have different items for sale unlike many other tourist towns.

Our second visit here was Monday evening and the food, service and overall experience was not very good. On Thursday we were given a children's menu, on Monday none was offered. We asked for the BBQ chicken sandwich for my 1 year old, but asked for just the chicken, no bun and the sauce to be on the side. Was served exactly as we asked. On Monday it was served just as it is on the menu, we had to send it back as my baby won't eat any sauce on chicken. Which is why we wanted it on the side so we can continue to try to introduce sauce to him but also get him to eat some plain chicken. On Thursday I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. It was great. On Monday I had the quesadilla with barbicoa beef. The meat was excellent, but the bottom side of my quesadilla was soggy, not crispy at all and wet when it was served to me. On Thursday my husband had the Dizzy buffalo burger with the cheese curds, he liked it. On Monday he had the Westerner sandwich, he said it wasn't great. He ended up only having a couple of bites. I'm not sure what the difference was, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that hopefully they were just having an off night. Round out the two visits at 3 stars. I'd give them another shot if we visit again since one time was a really great experience.
