Went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Service was amicable and timely. The blackened trout was fantastic as was the massive BLT. Don't pass on the huckleberry dessert!

Brian, bartender and server, was friendly. We tried the Elk Chili, Montana Cheesesteak with waffle fries, and Bison Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Everything was delicious. This location is a bar/restaurant. There are some tables separate from the bar, which we appreciated.

Food was amazing the service was amazing talked to the waitress she said the kitchen is under a new management

Super easy to find was hesitant because I had seen the reviews, but it looks like the kitchen is under new management from what the server had mentioned. Food was amazing. Service was incredible. We also had the dessert which was amazing but didn't take pictures because we couldn't stop eating it

Gardiner, Montana is a great place to use as a home-base when visiting Yellowstone National Park. It's the north entrance to the park. While there we ate at a few places. One of the restaurants which stood out for us was the Yellowstone Mine Restaurant. When we got to the restaurant, we were told it would be a bit of a wait. Within a short while we were seated. The waitress (Marina) was attentive, friendly and helpful. I ordered their Meatloaf special with a side of onion rings and a cup of Elk Chili to start with. My wife ordered their classic hamburger and fries, it was really good food. Both were good large portions. The place is casual and plenty of parking. After eating at a couple of other places that week, we decided to come back for another evening. This time I had their Trout special with a cup of Elk Chili to start with, my wife had their Chicken Pot Pie. Both were very good. We definitely recommend this place if your In Gardiner, Montana. If you have to wait a bit to be seated and served, the food is good and worth the wait. The Elk Chili is really good. Come hungry and enjoy. Ask for Marina!

There is a shelf right next to the cash register where you can grab whichever ones you want and bring it back to your table. We were already trying these before we had our food. The cafe itself is super cute and cozy with plants all around and different pieces of art. They even sell items from local artists including beef tallow lotion and earrings. They have a clean bathroom and an outdoor eating area. They have a vast menu for lunch where the sandwiches are names after dogs and a smaller menu for breakfast. We go there around 11 and were able to order from both so unsure if there is a time limit for either. The staff were so sweet and gave their recommendations and even though it's a cafe, they will bring out your food for you when it's ready. We did still bring our dishes back to the counter, unsure how they generally do that though. We asked for pickles and they kindly gave us some. The burritos were huge and filling but the sandwiches themselves were also good. Unsure what names were but I didn't love the one with the carrots in them. The staff recommended the breakfast sandwich with the biscuit, and although it was good, the biscuit was not the best choice. It broke so easily and made a mess. Unsure of the name of the drink but it was like a lemonade and it was delicious. Definitely would come back and try more hot sauce though

Tumbleweed was an okay breakfast experience, but nothing that really stood out…read more It's another order-at-the-counter setup where you're asked to tip before you've actually received any food or service--a practice I'm just not a fan of. I had the standard breakfast, which was served in a to-go carton even though we were eating there. The meal was okay overall, but the potatoes were not good. Service was just okay as well. We sat outside on the patio, but it was a hot day, so the outdoor seating wasn't particularly comfortable. Overall, it did the job for breakfast, but with so many places to choose from, there are definitely better options in Gardiner.

My kids each got a burrito and I got the huckleberry French toast. Everything was great! They have really good local sodas for purchase too. The second time, we stopped here on our way out of town and dined in. They were busier and make everything to order, so the food actually took a while. My youngest and I ordered a huckleberry matcha as well. Those come out first, but unfortunately a lot of the ice melted and the drink looked gray in color instead of the pretty differentiation between the matcha and the huckleberry. It tasted okay, slightly watered down. My kids got the breakfast plate and I got the avocado toast and had them add the tomato and everything but the bagel seasoning. It was probably the best avocado toast I've ever had in my life! Incredible flavor! We had fun chatting with some other visitors while we were there. A very cute and homey place with seating inside and outside. They also sell local items like honey and photography.

While small in size and selection, GSG (solely an acronym and not meant to sound like a new street…read moredrug) is the closest shop to the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Since addresses are practically non-existent in Gardiner, MT (check out Google Maps if you don't believe me), just go all the way to the far west end of the main shopping strip on Park Street or simply ask one of the locals. GSG is a gift shop with a lot of key chains, bumper stickers, knick-knacks and cute children's t-shirts. Next door, like all the other souvenir shops in Gardiner, is a little cafe selling sweets and coffee. GSG's cafe seems to be the only cafe in town to actually have locals in it drinking their coffees while passing countless hours of the day away (most likely gossiping about own townies and homely, outdoorsy tourists). I recommend Yellowstone Gifts & Sweets down the street but both stores have different items for sale unlike many other tourist towns.

We are here twice and had wildly different experiences…read more Our first visit here was Thursday evening and the food, service and overall experience were excellent. Our second visit here was Monday evening and the food, service and overall experience was not very good. On Thursday we were given a children's menu, on Monday none was offered. We asked for the BBQ chicken sandwich for my 1 year old, but asked for just the chicken, no bun and the sauce to be on the side. Was served exactly as we asked. On Monday it was served just as it is on the menu, we had to send it back as my baby won't eat any sauce on chicken. Which is why we wanted it on the side so we can continue to try to introduce sauce to him but also get him to eat some plain chicken. On Thursday I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. It was great. On Monday I had the quesadilla with barbicoa beef. The meat was excellent, but the bottom side of my quesadilla was soggy, not crispy at all and wet when it was served to me. On Thursday my husband had the Dizzy buffalo burger with the cheese curds, he liked it. On Monday he had the Westerner sandwich, he said it wasn't great. He ended up only having a couple of bites. I'm not sure what the difference was, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that hopefully they were just having an off night. Round out the two visits at 3 stars. I'd give them another shot if we visit again since one time was a really great experience.

The chili was a complete disappointment.. I was really looking forward to it.. there was ONE block of meat... again, no knives so you couldn't really try and cut it apart and enjoy it in a few bites either.. The place has a great presentation, but the food and rules in general were a huge let down.
