ATX Scapes did work on multiple things in our landscape. Ben is the main person, and he came by and gave a bid. He walked through options, and talked us out of a few things that we were looking to "pay him" for in the project. First, he was early, which I consider on time. He then saved us money, which is a HUGE plus, then he had Irrigation, Rock Work, and then landscape, and to top off, he spent a lot of time talking about "lighting", and he was spot on. The lighting makes a huge difference when the friends are over having drinks, because the back yard comes to life. Ben and ATX Scapes was absolutely professional. I was also super fired up to deal with a local business in the Central Texas area, and they are people with roots around here, Ben and his partners have kids in Cedar Park and are very involved, we spoke a lot and I learned about my vendor. With the larger trees, we are going to go higher with the beds now, will have Star Jasmine climbing up onto the panels. Just amazing. This project started because our yard had suffered the ravages of the past ice storm and the recent drought with watering restrictions. Our grass was dying, trees and shrubs either dead or close to it. Honestly this was not something I wanted to even do, but knew I had to because of HOA policies. I am not a yard/lawn enthusiast. I read reviews and decided to meet with Ben. We discussed that I wanted to put as much rock bed as the HOA would allow including native, drought resistant plants, and better drought tolerant grass. We also had some flooding and erosion in the back yard. Ben created an easy to view plan and worked with me to find plants that I liked. From start to finish Ben, Josh and his team were a dream to work with! Ben and Josh went above and beyond with their professionalism, trustworthiness, and work ethic. They turned a project I was dreading into something I am excited about and my neighbors are all wanting their yards done now. Our first interactions with the owner, Ben, were great and he was very knowledgable and friendly. We weren't urgent about the projects we wanted done, so we were flexible about dates and times. He was a little slow to respond with a quote, and we had to remind him we were awaiting a response, but we understood it was the busiest time of the year for the industry. We finally got something on the calendar for a month out; then he let us know a spot had opened up much earlier and they would come out the next day to do the first part of the project and then the following day to finish up. We gladly accepted. What we came home to on that first day was incredibly disappointing. We had asked them to clean up some mulch beds, lay sod and fill in bare patches, as well as remove a few posts and install decomposed granite on one side of the house. The team had clearly just thrown sod on top of mulch and weeds, lumpy ground and all, and left bare patches and holes all over the yard. I assumed this wasn't the final product and waited a few days before contacting Ben. He replied the next day to say "I will swing by and take a look this afternoon." He did not show until the next day (when we were out), and reported finding only one spot that was a "little uneven," which he hand-tamped, to little effect (we're almost two months out from the work, and we've seen little improvement). Unlike our initial communication, Ben's emailed responses to our complaints were brief and curt. I wish we hadn't let them move up the date because it was clearly a rushed job done with minimal effort. So now we have a lumpy yard with some serious potholes, unending weeds growing through sod and bare spots that we've resorted to filling ourselves. Maybe our expectations were too high, but for the price, we expected better (and could have done a better job ourselves). read more

We needed quite a bit of landscaping done after the recent freezes. Ben came to give us an estimate and was super knowledgeable about many of the plants we were considering. We accepted the bid and they did what they promised, when they promised. and did an outstanding job. We will use Ben and his company for all of our landscaping needs in the future. We hired ATXscapes for a backyard redo in Cedar Park in January 2019. We've now got a mature yard with trees that have grown up over the years. With the increasing shade, the grass dies out within a year. We needed something that was sustainable, used less water, and eased the maintenance. Ben came in to do an initial consultation, took a series of measurements and spent about 2 hours with us to determine our likes and dislikes/preferences. He then went away to do the plan which was completed in a high tech landscape CAD renderings so we could actually see what the result was going to be for our yard. The renderings gave us confidence that we had a good idea of what the final outcome would be. Once we decided to go ahead with the project, the work was completed within 7 working days with no gaps. Sometimes there are weather gaps or people don't show up gaps. Not here. The workers showed on time every day with all the proper materials and tools for the days work. With an existing sprinkler system, Ben was able to modify it for areas of drip irrigation and removal of specific heads no longer needed. With a brand new electronic sprinkler controller we can control from my iPhone. Ben also worked a night lighting plan and installed the best low voltage outdoor lighting system, also controlled from my iPhone. Works like a dream. The best part of working with ATXscapes is Ben's ability and willingness to work with us as tweaks were needed for the design. This was actually the fun part, as we were able to get exactly want we wanted. I'm a very satisfied customer and would not hesitate to recommend Ben and ATXscapes for any landscaping project. We used ATXscapes for several projects after installing a pool last year. They put landscaping around the pool, realigned the sprinkler system post pool construction, re-sodded our front and back yards with St. Augustine grass and trimmed our trees in the front yard. Summary: I would highly recommend and have already recommended them to friends and acquaintances based on their amazing performance. Polite crewmembers rarely seen without a smile and no complaints (there were tons of mosquitoes on our property). Quick turnaround on providing quotes (I had two jobs performed) and reasonable prices. Excellent communication throughout completion of the projects with the unpredictable, crazy rain weather Austin experienced during the fall of 2018. Wonderful execution of the design plan providing life to our front and back yards. We had a smaller, 3-day job in the back yard consisting of bed creation, planting, minor irrigation, and sod installation. 80% of the job was completed in the first 2 days only missing sod installation because of the rain. ATXscapes kept in contact with my family letting us know when we could expect them out to wrap up the sod. It was an incredible transformation that gave us an area to be proud of and a plan on keeping grass in an area completely covered by shade. Despite the large quantity of irritating mosquitoes, the crew always greeted us kindly and professionally. The second job was a larger, 4-day job in the front yard consisting of bed creation, planting, irrigation, concrete removal, and concrete installation. My experience mimicked the previous job being interrupted by rain, but ATXscapes continued to provide fantastic communication. They coordinated with the concrete company to finish the job and completely alter how visitors are welcomed by our walkway. ATXscapes also designed an elegant solution to a drainage issue with our gutter system.
