Chaos is an adorable bright pink truck, adorned with the coolest skeleton motif and run by a beautiful and hilarious mother-daughter(s) team, who brew Kafiex beans with the most skilled and consistent results in town! Brewed Awakenings who?? I don't know her anymore! Chaos makes Washington-style Americanos with aplomb using plenty of ice so you don't just end up with a watery mess, and the price is incredibly low, especially for the quality. Kafiex are truly one of the best roasters in the entire world, not just the county or state! I imagine the smoothies and matcha are good too, but I'm too busy slurping 32 oz of caffeinated goodness to branch out. I get something different nearly every time, and NEVER has Chaos disappointed. It's thicker and crispier than commercial so I think they make their cones in house! But the rockstar is the ice cream itself. I grew up in the area and so I'm very familiar with northwest flavors. This ice cream is like my childhood in a scoop. The ice cream has enough fats to give a nice mouth feel and I'm not even sure they use Guar gum or carrageenan. The honey tastes local. Even the raspberry syrup tastes like raspberries off the side of a country road that are ripe but not too ripe. That sweet sour taste. If you are traveling through or a guest of this town, you have to try the ice cream.

Don't get me wrong, I love talking to the baristas there, but sometimes it can be more like an interview than a conversation. When one of the barista posted about Kokomo Espresso, my girlfriend said that we should go. I figured why not, a change from the norm. When we rolled up to Kokomo Espresso for the first time, there was a lovely barista named Lauren there to take our order. She didn't have any of the overwhelming energy you would find at Dutch Bros, she was just a genuinely sweet person. She took our order, and was very helpful in choosing the flavors and type of beverage. The first thing I would like to point out is the price: Dutch Bros has been increasing the price of their drinks, incrementally throughout the last few years, to the point where a large Rebel (32oz) will set you back almost $8.00, but a large Lotus (32oz) is only $7.00, saving you a dollar per visit. The flavor is also super refreshing, and I feel somewhat healthier (as healthy as one can while drinking an energy drink) consuming it. Since the Lotus is a plant-based energy syrup, as opposed to a Rebel, which is not, it's technically at least a little bit healthier for you. The flavors also definitely stick out a lot more than the Rebel, as the Lotus base has a much less overpowering taste than the acidic Rebel. Overall, I couldn't possible recommend Kokomo Espresso enough. This is absolutely going to be my new home coffee shop, and I'm happy to call it that. I strongly recommend everyone to go give them a shot!

Apparently, these guys charge three dollars for an extra double shot of espresso. The price justification being that the 20 ounce comes with a quad shot while the 16 ounce comes with a double shot. Their pricing is totally screwed up and I never get charged the same thing by any one employee. I even used their mobile order app for a while with the highest price subscription, which is supposed to include two free drinks a day. I still couldn't get a simple quad iced breve 16 ounce without being charged for extra shots. When I asked why, they explained people were taking advantage and ordering 12 shot drinks. I understand that abuse needs to be mitigated, but put a cap on the number of shots you can add instead of railroading customers operating in good faith. To tell people they get two free drinks per day and then charge them for doctoring up their drinks is false advertising.
