The nicest liquor store that I've been to is in Wilsonville. The largest in the state & family-owned, it offers a large selection of liquor, wine, beer, cigars & glassware in a dust-free & clean environment. There's reclaimed wood counters & a vintage van in store. The staff is helpful & friendly. The large square footage allows for a huge selection. They have bottles that I've never seen before. Some are expensive & some obscure items from foreign countries. Definitely come here for liquor. read more

Bottle of Drappier Champagne listed at store for $39.99. Went to pay and the clerk scanned the Bar Code & it showed $49.99. The manager said I needed to pay $49.99 & that he forgot to change the listed price, so I left the bottle. Through correspondence with Jesse at their HQ I was told they made a mistake and could come in and pick up the Drappier Champagne for $39.99 on a one time basis. I picked up the wine a couple days later and got a nice heartfelt apology from the manager. So wonderful job on their part correcting a mistake. I will continue to shop there with their very good selection of wines, especially French & Italian. read more

Great selection of whiskey/bourbon but yet another liquor store holding allocated bottles for "charity auction" or their friend or a bar that buys a lot of booze. It's amazing that the store employees defend the right to hold the bottles so tax paying citizens can't buy. This store was my favorite because it's large, clean and has cool glassware. However, when I see a bottle of EH Taylor which is sort of hard to get and was told I can't have it because it's for charity auction I get fed up and mad. Tigard Liquor store will get my business at least they are honest and advertise any allocated bottles they get right on FB. read more

Friendly, great service and clean Unlike the Wilsonville State run liquor store which is tiny and always has seedy characters hanging out outside or in, Stafford Beverage is clean and friendly with a thorough assortment of everything. I wanted a special Bloody Mary mix and they ordered it in for me, promptly arriving when they promised it. They had everything we needed for a wedding weekend. I bought a bottle of their store pick Elijah Craig barrel proof on Christmas Eve. Once I got home the bottom of the bag tore and the bottle shattered in my driveway. I saved the sealed neck and gave them a call. Tiffany was more than understanding and although they were sold out brought me up a bottle from their Salem location to replace it. OK so I am from Phoenix AZ and I am an older lady now who has lost her flavor for beer oddly enough. Came here and bought a slice of pizza from the place down the street and just wanted 2 beers so I came in to Stafford. The two gentlemen that worked with me were fun, fantastic and actually hooked me up with some really delicious hoppy ale, which I have not had in a long time! This place has a great selection of beers, spirits especially; which is not really my bag, and a decent little wall of wines. I hate liquor stores. But this one is an exception. The people are nice and they'll help you find what you need. Keep in mind this isn't a huge place, but they are efficient with their space. Stafford Beverage doesn't discriminate as they have alcohol for everyone! You come in prepared to get what you need but you end up with another bottle. What is this magic.......? Mixed experience here recently. I called ahead asking about items received in their shipment, and was told they do not disclose inventory over the phone, and that is their right. I responded by asking "I'm not far, if I drive down right now, will you guys be able to help me out?" and they said yes. I get it, collecting rare liquor is hot right now, and taking phone calls probably gets old... but here is what happened when I came in - I browsed around, picked up a bottle (which I ultimately purchased) and asked about the day's shipment, I was told "I'm not really sure what we got today, I wasn't watching when they unpacked it (and then didn't make any attempt to ask any other employee or answer my question), but even if we did get some rare/allocated bottles, we don't sell them on shipment day, we wait until we see what our other store gets, we fill our bar orders, and then we offer what's left to the public - you should come back on Tuesday". Well, I purchased my bottle and left feeling extremely undervalued as a customer, why not just say you don't sell anything special from your shipment on shipment day over the phone and say to save my time for coming in Tuesday if that was my ultimate intention of coming? I was transparent with my needs as a customer, be transparent with your ability to meet that need as business. Especially when your system is clearly so specific and premeditated. I might be a 20 minute drive down the freeway, but I will gladly make that drive and give my business to someone who is transparent and values their customers, why would I return to a place that values bar orders and playing favorites over customers who have a hobby the business directly benefits from? Most people would have left without a purchase, but I still purchased a $57 dollar bottle, despite how downright rude I feel the lack of transparency was. I make a 15-20 minute drive for many locations weekly, and have made purchases 9/10 times to those businesses purely off feeling appreciated as a customer, not just because they had something rare or special for me. read more

Great team and nice selection at Stafford Beverage! I stopped in tonight for Writers Tears Double Oak Irish whiskey and left with a couple extra things. They have a nice selection of Irish whiskey and Scotch, and they've got some good stuff on the way - the ordering manager knows his stuff. I hung out and chatted with the team for about half an hour. This is a great shop that deserves the community's support. I'm happy to offer a recommendation... wish I could still give 5 stars because they earned it. read more

What a great experience! The owner/operator of this store could give lessons to other retailers on setting expectations and ensuring the business is ran properly. The store staff is outgoing, helpful and polite and is always staffed appropriately. During my first visit to the store I was purchasing maraschino cherries for Manhattans. The owner asked if I had tried Boudreaux cherries from Italy, I hadn't. Since they were much more expensive than what I normally purchase, I was reluctant to buy them. He told me they were the absolutely the best and proceeded to offer me a sample. They were amazing! Expensive, but worth it. I took a jar home with me. Not your average liquor store. Here are my reasons why this place rises above other liquor stores in the area: 1. Selection. The wall of whiskey is incredible! Probably the best in the area. Apparently the owner is a whiskey aficionado. I look forward to learning from him on future visits. However, this visit it was looking for cachaça, a Brasilian rum that my fiancé and I love. They had two brands, both of which are high quality. Stoked to find this here! 2. Helpful Staff. The guys were all about customer service. Both were out from behind the counter walking the store helping a nice old lady and I. They also helped by fiancé locate a bottle on her trip. Most times she would try to avoid a liquor store but this one made for a comfortable, even enjoyable, shopping experience. 3. Hours. The place is open late which is convenient for the last minute runs. I'll be back to explore whiskey, stock up on Hendricks and get my cachaça fix! read more

First, I'll say the customer service was excellent from the standpoint that they greeted me immediately, were friendly and spent time trying to help me. Unfortunately, they weren't quite knowledgeable enough to offer the assistance I needed. I ended up selecting a champaign based on price rather than any sort of input. I hope it's good. I also needed a nonalcoholic champaign and some rosé to round out my wine selection but they don't cary either. These are staples at any beverage store. I was hoping they'd offer some upgraded options over the grocery store but they're not quite there. Nice people though. read more

I don't always do reviews on Yelp but I had just posted a negative review of the Murray Scholls Liquor Store & thought I needed to rid myself of the energy & do something positive!! I found out that the owner, Mr Stafford, has over 30 years experience in the beverage industry and has more variety (especially rare, limited release, and high end spirits ) per square feet of retail space than any liquor store in Oregon. Where else can you choose between your basic Jose Cuervo and several bottles of ultra ultra premium tequila such as Espolòn Añejo X Limited Release, Don Julio Real, or Patron Platinum???
