I live in Ohio and was visiting with family over the 4th of July holiday. I purchased two Groupon vouchers, one for my daughter and one for myself. We called and set our appts with Chris Sellers, back to back, which I thought was fantastic since we were driving from Encinitas. When we got to our appt, I was amazed at how neat, clean, and organized Chris' work area was. He also did a great job to make us comfortable both before and during our appt. With my voucher, I was able to get calligraphy on both of my forearms, with a little time to spare. Both pieces were very intricate and a bit tedious, but I didn't feel rushed at all and Chris made sure that I was completely happy with the placement before he ever started. This guy does a really nice job and appears to take a lot of pride in his work. If you are wanting a nice piece of permanent artistry, I strongly recommend that you spend the money and give Chris a call. I will definitely be back to see him the next time that I'm in Cali. Let me start off by saying Overground is a fantastic tattoo shop, extremely friendly staff and great artwork. I just got my shin done a week ago and already found myself back at it again a week later taking care of my forearm. Artist Austin Olson is one of the most genuine and Original people you'll probably ever meet plus he's pretty damn funny, not only will he stencil exactly what you want but will also give excellent ideas of color to add and what else you could do with the remaining skin you have left. On top of that you'll end up leaving the shop more than satisfied with the completed piece. Easily my favorite place to go, good vibes and they make you feel welcome. All in all I appreciate the shop and more importantly I appreciate Austin for his artistic style and eye. I recently went to this new and upcoming tattoo shop to get some work done on my sleeve and was really impressed with the clean and friendly environment. (Which a lot of shops seem to lag.) They were very knowledgeable and me feel like I was priority #1, which I had problems with other shops in the past. But long story short, I love the work that was done on me. They were very professional and I cant stress how much that means to, because its my skin and my dollar if you know what I mean! And not to mention the price's were easy on my wallet! About a week ago I went in to get my first tattoo. It was the best experience I could've asked for. The shop was clean and inviting, and the artists were amazing. Prior to actually getting the tattoo, I went in just to get an estimate and Julianna took time to talk to me about what I wanted and was very helpful in explaining the whole process and although they seemed booked, she said they could definitely take time for me, whether they had to come in early or leave late. I then booked my apt with Chris who was amazing! He did everything I asked for and more and was just a great person in general. he eased my initial nervousness in seconds. When you walk into Overground Tattoo you are greeted like a part of their family. They are all super friendly and kick ass people. Julianna is the best female artist out there and can do anything you want. Her specialty is oceanic creatures. But can do anything from portraits, dot work, watercolor, literally anything you want. I Came in here for a Friday the 13th tattoo and was treated like a queen! They are so accommodating! Daniel gave me the cutest little shell tattoo on my right middle finger. His lines were so clean and sharp! He made sure the tattoo was the right size and placement for my small finger and I love how it came out! Just left Overground Tattoo a couple hours ago and had a excellent experience. My tattoo artist was Chris Sellers who did an outstanding job on my work. He his a very fast and efficient tattoo artists who is also friendly and easy to talk to. I also got a chance to talk to the owner, who is also very nice and friendly as well. I bought a special from Livingsocial and I have to say I am ecstatic with the work done by Julianna. I needed an older tattoo touched up and I really wanted a new one. I have been to several shops over the years and this by far was my best experience! My touchup tattoo looks brand new and the new tattoo I got on my ankle is absolutely beautiful. Got my first tattoo with Overground a few weeks ago (1st tattoo EVER). Wow...was I ever happy that I chose Overground (based on Yelp reviews). Julianna was a sweetheart...and made it much easier than I'd feared. It's an out-of-the-way shop, but still easy to get to. This place is rad! the shops normal hours are from noon to 8 but i had to work that day so they opened up the shop at 9 am for me and we started early. Their portfolios are amazing and they even have great prices. Ive been to a few other shops in el cajon when i was younger and this place is for sure the cleanest and most pleasant to be in. Justin Slugger hands down best artist ever! He's considerate and always produces a quality product. He's the only artist that I will ever go to in California. He's done 4 pieces for me and is currently finishing up a sleeve for me later this year when I get out of the Marine Corps. Highly recommend Slugger he's badass to say the least. read more
