We bought two garage doors from Overhead Door Company a couple of years ago and the price, service, and quality was unmatched by their competitors. On Monday afternoon, one of the torsion springs broke rendering the double garage door inoperable and I was unable to open the door manually. Called Steffanie (Service Manager) at Overhead Door Company and she had a Service Technician (Christopher) out to my house the very next day. Christopher gave us a courtesy call when he was headed to our house and when he arrived; he went right to work, never saw him on his phone. In order to replace the broken spring, he had to replace the other aging matching spring as well in order for the door to open properly. Not only did the garage door work like new, but the springs were still under warranty, which I was not aware of at the time of repair. Christopher told me that the springs were under warranty and that there would be no charge for the springs. While he was there, he also performed a winter tune-up and adjustment to the single car garage door, which it needed since it is used as our front door; the family constantly going in and out. On top of that, I was given a 5% military discount. It is nice to know that a company honors their warranty and as I stated above ... Overhead Door Company's price, service, and quality are unmatched by their competitors! Previous Review: We had a garage door opener motor that has been on its' last leg for the last year and sure enough it breaks on the weekend. Called Overhead Door Company expecting to get a voice recording or 3rd party answering service; however, I actually got a real person who was actually working there at the time named JR. Within an hour, JR had a technician (Alonso) at our door and an hour after that, the garage door operator head and belt drive rail was replaced and working like new. I did not have to pay them until I was absolutely 100% satisfied with the job. I waited a couple of days of opening and closing use, and then happily paid my bill, which was a lot cheaper than I had anticipated for having the work done on a weekend. Needless to say, I will be using Overhead Door Company for all my future garage door needs. read more

Overhead Door of Tucson recently came out and fixed my two car garage door, after the single spring had broken. They were very knowledgeable, and friendly, were able to answer my many questions about the springs, rollers, door openers, cables, lubricants, etc. They easily explained things with as much detail as I needed, and using terms or comparisons that I could understand. In considering the repair options, they offered many alternatives, from the cheapest quick fix to the most comprehensive and complete. They showed me many alternatives, and explained the differences in cost and function of all of them, and discussed their warranty options for each one. They were very professional, and really friendly, with a nice sense of humor. Talking with them, they seemed confident and positive, the way I hope to find with very competent and experienced professionals. Their work was quick, and they transferred some good parts from my bigger door to a smaller one, and at no charge. They also repaired a control box which was hanging off the wall, also at no additional charge. (Actually, I didn't think the controller could be remounted, so I hadn't asked them about it. But they saw the problem, and fixed it handily. I was really impressed, and grateful.) Both doors now run much more quietly and smoothly. I've got a written warranty on the work and the parts, and I really trust this company to fulfill any guarantees they make. Obviously, I'm very impressed by this company. I would recommend them to anyone who needs garage door service. As a homeowner, it's always feels like a major score, to find someone you know you can trust to do work on your house, to do the best possible job, at a competitive price (and who will honestly tell you all the price options available for a given job). My garage door had been making some strange noises, and because a good friend had recently had to have her garage door springs replaced and had used Overhead Door, I decided to call them. They were incredibly responsive and Brandon came out the next day; he was amazing and explained everything that needed to be done...which was basically just a routine service. However, I also mentioned that when I close the door, there is a gap on the right side bottom; in fact, a small snake once got into my garage through the gap. He told me exactly how much it would cost to fix it, and because it was quite reasonable, I had him do it. Now I no longer have any gaps, and my garage door closes perfectly! He also explained exactly what was making one of the noises; he said that it wasn't really much of an issue at all, and to fix it, he would have to remove the springs and go through a fairly detailed process, and since the noise wasn't damaging anything, he said that I could definitely wait until the springs needed replacing. Since I am a widowed senior, I truly appreciated his honesty, because so many technicians try to sell me anything and everything they can. And to top it all off, it was an amazing price!!!! I generally use Angie's list, and I had been looking at garage door companies for service, and what he charged me, which included fixing the gap at the bottom of the door and replacing the rubber strip at the bottom, was less than some companies charge for a service call! Overhead Door was response to my phone call request of information as our two-car garage door, upon coming home late at night, would not open. As a result we had to leave our car sitting out overnight. I looked closer the next day on the inside and found that one of the large torsion springs had broken. First I called our 'handy man' we use and he advised to call a garage door company as it takes special training/expertise to replace torsion springs and it can also be dangerous, so I called several garage door companies to check on pricing, warranty and availability to come and fix. I called and talked with JR who was very helpful and willing to take the time to answer all of my questions! As a result, Overhead Door had the best pricing, warranty and response time to come and fix our door! When they arrived to repair the door they took the time to explain what needed done and did a complete door inspection along with advising how to care for the door. As a result we are very pleased with the knowledge, repair job, price and warranty provided! We highly recommend Overhead Door Of Tucson to repair any garage door problems anyone might have! It took us going through 2 terrible garage door companies in town to find overhead garage. 3rd time is the charm right ?! We couldn't be more pleased with the tech they sent out Brandon. He called ahead of time to let us know he was on the way and early by the way! He was nice enough to give us a history of the company and do a complete inspection of our garage door. We had our entire garage door replaced last year by a different company and he noticed right away we were missing a piece and explained why this piece was important. He was very helpful and performed maintenance and said we should call the other company and get them to fix it since it should be under warranty and that could save us some money. What do you know the other company was willing to install the missing piece, but charge us for labor. We were just fed up and called back overhead and Brandon came back out for free and installed the missing piece (only charging us for the part). He felt bad they did this to us and it just goes to show how much they care about the customer. I will be recommending them to everyone! They went above and beyond and it shows. read more

Huge relief to get an honest place. I had another place here Friday (A-1) because my garage door has been giving me trouble shutting. The guy from A-I was obviously on commission and was pressuring me hard, saying all kinds of things were wrong. I had a bad feeling and said I would get estimates. Today, Brandon from Overhead came, right in the scheduled appointment window, and charged me just the service call for a maintenance service (oiling and adjusting), moving my sensors up and bolting them so they quit getting bumped out of whack (which is what he said was the problem), and moving the strut that the pressure sales guy had talked me into Friday (Brandon said the strut was not going to hurt anything but was in the wrong place). I did NOT need a new opener, or a new door, or a new spring, or a new wood piece (all of which that other place said). As a bonus, he programmed the opener to my car for me. All around pleasant experience and I won't forget. Do the right thing and people remember. read more

I received their advertising card in the business mailer package and decided to contact them for a garage door checkup as well as getting an estimate on repairing the lifting arm on my garage door. The lifting arm had pulled out of the door and I had not been able to open my door automatically for several weeks. I had dreaded getting an estimate because I expected to have to pay several hundred dollars for a repair. The technician looked over the door, explained that this issues was common on my type of door. I asked about a fix and he said total cost for the fix, checkup, tightening the spring and lubing would be $77! I was ecstatic and asked when he could fix the door...he said he had the adapter in the truck. In and out with a repair and check-up in 30 minutes! The door runs smoother and is a lot quieter than before. I highly recommend Overhead Door and I will be using them for any other door issues I have in the future. 8/12/2022 Friday On 8/8/2022, Monday morning, our middle rib had pulled away from the garage door. So, I started to go on the internet, to get the 3 best garage companies, in Southern Arizona. The #1 was: Overhead Door. I read everything about them, that was on their website. USA made products, discounts being a military member/ senior, etc. So, I encourage, everyone to "read" their entire website. So, I filled out the form 1st & than I spoke to Mariska, Business Manager. They are a very busy company, who knows how to take care of their customers (new & existing). I was a new customer. Brandon Berley, came on 8/11, Thursday & fixed our door. Brandon did not try to sell me anything. He is a through & fast worker. I am telling people that I know, to go with Overhead Door, they will not be sorry. If we do need, any garage door repairs done. We bought a house a few years ago with a garage door from Overhead Door. The door had been squeaky loud for some time, but recently started to occasionally stop part way down and other times would reach the ground and then open right back up (we came home to an open garage door once because of this). It would happen about once a week. Scheduled a service call and they sent a tech out within a couple days as it wasn't time sensitive for us. The existing door was nearly 20 years old and the rollers had grooves worn into them from the track, making the door heavier than to open and close than it should've been. Rather than having the old door opener serviced, we decided to replace it. The new door is so much quieter and the actual opener is smaller. We will be having it serviced once a year and will take advantage of the discount coupons they offer. Very pleased with the service and professionalism. Will recommend to everyone. read more

Great customer service! Honest work! When I called, the receptionist Megan was so friendly, helpful, and I didn't feel like I was trying to be up-sold a product. She actually took the time to ask me what the problem was, instead of just telling me someone would be out to diagnose the problem. Megan was knowledgeable about the product. Then, when the Tech (sorry I forgot his name) came he was very polite. He asked what the problem was and from there he started by checking the small details - like photocells were pointed the right way, wires connect right etc. Turns out I just had a loose wire connection. He also went ahead and took the time to lube all the joints, and check all other parts. They could have very well just told me I needed a new opener, but were honest in their work. I appreciate that! I saved over 300 dollars, and only paid 30 for the service call. read more

I recently had my garage door serviced by Overhead Door Co. of Tucson, who I found on Angie's List and was using for the first time. I was thoroughly satisfied with the service they provided. Megan was very helpful with scheduling my service and giving information about their services and fees. She also told me about online Valpak discount coupons, which I used. Tech Zach came out to do the work. He called first and said that he could come earlier than the time scheduled, which was fine with me. Zach did excellent and thorough work. In addition to the general servicing, he showed me parts that needed to be replaced, which I agreed with. The replacement parts were reasonably priced, as was the overall servicing. I highly recommend Overhead Door for garage door servicing and repair, and Tech Zach. I plan to use them again for future maintenance and servicing. read more

We've used Overhead Doors since about 1998, with the most recent in May 2016. Overhead Doors is one of the most extraordinary companies with whom we have done business. From the initial office call to the technician who comes out they are always courteous, professional & on-time. For us they have have installed new garage doors, motors, belt drive, and remote systems; replaced cables & sensors; repaired gear sets, frames, remotes & keypads; as well as performed basic tune-ups like lubricating the springs, rollers, bearings & hinges. The technician also always completes a full inspection to assure nothing is missed. They keep detailed records of prior work, are reasonably priced & don't oversell anything unnecessary. I have used Overhead Door several times for repairs/service on my garage door. Three years ago I had OD replace the weather seal on the bottom of the door where packrats had gnawed through it and made a mess. They were so inconsiderate as to DIE in my garage, and I didn't discover them until I returned from being at my summer home four months later (gives new meaning to "I smell a rat!"). OD repaired the damage and recommended and installed inexpensive "rat guards" that have prevented a repeat of this problem. Last week I purchased a new vehicle which had a built-in garage door opener. My 20-yar old opener was obsolete and couldn't be programmed to use this new device, so had to be replaced. OD did the job quickly and efficiently, and now the door opens more smoothly and quietly than ever before. read more

The spring broke on my garage door and I contacted Overhead Door Company. I scheduled an appointment for 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM the following day. About 2:45 I received a call from the technician saying he was on the way. He showed up right at 3:00. Due to being in the middle of the COVID-19 social distancing practices, he was very polite and kept his distance. 25 minutes later, my spring had been replaced, and he even corrected an error I made when I installed my new garage door opener with the spring to tension the belt. He also greased everything to make it almost silent again. The technician (I am terrible with names) was prompt, courteous, and he did a great job. And I was charged a fair price. If I ever need service again, I will not hesitate to use Overhead Door Company. Great job. read more

We called Overhead because I had a coupon and it seemed a reputable company. We had already received an estimate but wanted a second opinion. We pretty much knew the issue and about what it would cost (broken spring). When I called, the reception was courteous and professional. An appointment was able to be made within days (not weeks, like I assumed). It was for a Saturday, at no extra cost, which worked great for me and work schedules. The tech (Adam) was prompt, came at the scheduled time frame, was very professional. Did not try to upsell or convince us we needed more. He replaced our spring in minutes and had us up and running from start to finish in half an hour. I will definitely use this company again and feel they are a trustworthy source for garage door needs! read more

After a lot of research I hired overhead door to replace the cheap builder special that was installed in my house with a nice insulated double glass door. They are not the cheapest but the materials are high quality. Oil dipped double spring vs the cheap torsion bar for example. 6 months later my opener finally died too so I had them come and replace it with a liftmaster which is great. My only complaint is the new liftmaster is not compatible with a car homelink system that is older than the 2013 year. I had to buy a bridge system from amazon ($25) so the homelink would work. You would think the installer would mention this before the install or even include it for $550. That aside I'm happy with the workmanship and the quality of the product. You get what you pay for. read more

I wanted to make a rental house I own with a one car carport look better and be more secure. I contacted Art (the owner) of Overhead Door of Tucson, at the advice of my realtor, and he was quick to respond and very helpful. I met with Art at the job site and we decided on the size needed and the finish that would look the best. Art was even able to find me a reconditioned door and opener to save on cost. Ken came promptly on install day and spent the day installing the posts needed, installing the door and motor, and painting the whole installation to match the trim color of the house. I came back later to a very clean job site, an extremely quiet door opening and a fantastically improved appearance to the house. Way to go Overhead Door! read more

Brandon was the tech who showed up to take care of our older garage door installation. I was totally expecting to have to do an all new installation. The existing opener was horribly loud and little about the installation was working well. In about 45 minutes Brandon was able to get the existing unit running smoothly, with a new outdoor coded entry device, a new inside control switch/light switch/electric lockout combo unit and new light bulbs. All for a fraction of what a new opener would have cost me - oh, and per my request he supplied and programmed a new remote for the unit as well. Very personable, professional and conscientious. I highly recommend Overhead Door, and I highly commend Brandon for his excellent service! read more

In 1996 I bought a house that had been built in 1976. Not remembering when for sure, maybe in 2005 (?) my garage door quit working. The opener had Overhead's name on it so I called them. The owner came out to fix my problem, which was mostly a matter of lubrication, and told me, "Don't let anyone talk you into replacing this opener until it really dies: it's a metal one and they don't make 'em like this anymore!" Fast forward to summer 2016: it finally died--at 40 years old. Justin came out, determined that it really could not be repaired this time, and installed a new opener. Great work, great price, friendly service! I can't praise the folks at Overhead door enough--and I'm a grumpy old woman! read more
