When my old drunk of a roommate bent my garage door, I went looking to replace it. I found what I thought was a good company at Overhead Door. They are a local company and I figured that I would get good service. The owner came out looked at the door and gave me a deal of $1,200 to totally replace the door. The deal was that parts from my old door would go to a 3rd party and I would get a discount for it.I had to come up with over half of the money saved up and they agreed to take 50% and installments. THAT WAS 45 DAYS AGO. First, they ordered the wrong door. I had to wait a week, Next, they told me that the 3rd party could not schedule their end of the repair - ANOTHER WEEK. Then yesterday they call me and tell me that the 3rd party AGAIN has to postpone because of an "Emergency trip to Florida". Came out on a Saturday to rescue my garage door from certain doom! The chain fell off and almost hit my car the day before. Luckily, they installed a new Overhead garage door opener with a smooth and quiet belt drive in less than an hour for not too much money. The only reason they didn't get a five from me is they forgot to install the wireless keypad transmitter on the exterior that day (which I definitely needed as there's only one way in and out of this garage) but came back out pretty quickly to get it done for an additional small fee. Then they did maintenance (since they were already out there) and explained about a situation with the springs but thought it would be better to wait. I also wanted a new door rubber gasket and he said wait until next summer when it's hot and the rubber will be softer for my situation. They've helped me a couple times in the past few years and, what can I say, unless something changes I'll never contact another company for help. They're responsive, technicians are knowledgeable and friendly, they explain what they've observed and, most importantly for this review, on both occasions explained what they "could" do to provide a quick fix but that it would probably not be money well spent and then recommend an option that saves me money. Having lived here in Tucson now for just over 2 years, I wanted to substantially upgrade my contractor-grade chain drive opener with a new belt drive model. It's a quality product with more "bells & whistles" than I was expecting! No more wondering "did the garage door go down?" after I drive away. The technician was extremely knowledgeable about my existing setup and also included a tune up of my existing door with the new opener install. the overhead door company fixed my mom's garage door when the cables broke. I don't live in town and my mom is elderly and does not speak english. I originally called precision to get an estimate, based on their google reviews. Never again trusting google reviews. The guy got there, was courteous, but saw two cars inside and assumed my mom was desperate, so he wanted to charge her 800 bucks to change the cables and springs. My mom obviously said no thanks, then she called the overhead door company of tucson and got a rough estimate, the owner answered the phone and called my mom back and sent an employee that spoke spanish to make the repairs and explain everything to my mom. I am grateful for you honesty and fair business practices. I called Kaiser - with whom we had dealt for 18 years - to report that our garage door had a broke cable and was off track in a partially open position leaving our home vulnerable to both 2 and 4 legged varmints.
