I've tried food here 4 to 5 times over the last few years. It's a must stop for me while I'm visiting Dallas. The establishment is actually a mini market offering spices, household necessities, grocery food items, etc. -- but you're able to order some traditional Lao or Thai dishes from the cashier. Everything I have tried here is definitely made-to-order. The papaya salad was done right and the spice level as requested was just enough to have my eyes water up. Does anyone in DFW shop or eat at Overseas Market in Dallas? See my comments below. I visited Overseas Market, On Sunday, January 11, 2026, I called in an order for pickup. I absolutely love Meat Larb and Papaya Salad, and I also picked up some small sticky rice and a container of cabbage pickle. I remember the gentleman at the counter quoted me around $42.00 for everything, which seemed right based on what I ordered. When I paid by card, I honestly didn't get a clear view of the amount on the terminal, and I was in a bit of a hurry, so I didn't think to ask for a receipt at the time. I totally regret that now! It wasn't until I checked my bank statement a couple days later that I noticed a charge of $282.20 from Overseas Market. As you can imagine, I was pretty surprised, as it's quite a bit more than the $42.00 I was expecting. Spoke with the man by the phone he said I don't have a receipt and refused to work with me. At this point he left me no choice I got back online and did a partial dispute. This type of incident can happen to anyone so, please ask for a receipt and take time to look at it. read more

Hidden gems! It's disguised!! It's actually a market that has a number of different things. From your regular household items like washing powder, cigarettes, and even some authentic Asian goods/groceries like different ramens, sauces and pastes. What many wouldn't know unless told or stumbling into it. Is there's a little restaurant in the back , that serves some of the best Laos/Thai foods In Dallas. I've been a regular at this market / restaurant for over a decade. And although I've tried a few things there , my favorite is the medium spicy green papaya salad with extra egg plants , the medium spicy cucumber salad , jasmine rice and of course the beef salad( beef Larb cooked ). If you're looking for some authentic Laos food, this is going to be your place . They're very friendly and welcoming. Irena is usually who makes my food , only I haven't seen her the last couple of times I've gone . Nevertheless, my food always still comes out really tasty no matter who prepares it. read more

Small hole in the wall shop with lovely employees. They are always very kind and make sure everything is to your liking. House made sausages are packed with flavor and pair great with the rice! The egg rolls are the best i've ever had, flavorful and crispy. Definitely recommend 10/10 read more

We're from Colorado and this is our first time in Dallas, wanted to try some Authentic Laotian Food so again per YELP Oversea was on my bookmark. Oversea compared to Nahlin Market it's night and day! We've gotten no service at Nahlin Market whatsoever but when we came to Oversea they're very friendly and helpful. The food was spectacular! I spent about $200, this means that they had exactly everything that I was looking for. I've only had their chicken wings- I'm low carb dieting, don't judge me. I eat the 7 wings as a meal and I always am too full to finish because they are so big and meaty. But that marinade is too addictive, I don't want to find out if the sweetener is a no no. I invariably finish them all, even after being stuffed by 5. A group of us went, and i was Impressed!!. Its situated atop a hill in a dead 1960s gas station type strip mall. They sell everything Laotion & Thai food, and more. From the partially cooked duck eggs, ramen noodles, water bugs, pork rinds..it was alotta stuff. They do have cooked to go food, with a small dining area. I didn't but anything, but my friend she did. If i did want Thai food i would go back and get something simple, i like some international cuisine. The owner/chef was friendly he's a man of few words ,i guess. I wanted to take a pic but i was in a hurry. And i didnt ask permission. But next time i will buy a bag of Thai ramen noodles. This place is probably one of the best Lao food you can find. I've come here ever since I was a kid. The Lao sausages are on point! Even when I order the papaya salad thinking it won't be that bad, it is still spicy. I love it, though! My favorite is the Kow Piek (chicken noodle soup). That is always my go to when I can't decide on what to eat. The appearance is a little hard to get by, but once you're inside & tasting everything, you'll change your mind ;) read more

Tried this place today and I must say it was pretty good! Even though it looked sketchy outside, indoors was decent. The menu is short and simple. Pricing is decent for the amount of food they give you. We got the papaya salad, kew piek and the sausages. And all of them were tasty. Make sure you can handle your spiciness because their papaya salad is hella spicy! I couldn't finish it! Definitely recommend and would come back here! read more

I was really disappointed since their pictures look so good, and I enjoy super authentic Laos food/laos style. I ordered two papaya salads, and it tasted old like the papaya has been sitting out in the fridge uncovered. I had to throw both of them away. The raw beef salad was okay. When you walk in its literally a small Asian grocery store and they have a section with s few tables and chairs for the restaurant part. The food here is decent. My fried chicken was good but the oil they used to deep fry it was not all that new. The Papaya salad is ok and the Laos sausage was way too greasy. Overall, it's okay. If you never had laos food then you should check it out. The owners are really sweet and friendly. read more

If you want Laos food get it here . It's the closest thing to authentic you are going to get , well it's pretty much authentic Laos food to me ... it's not your typical Americanize Thai food place if you like those places then this place isn't the place for you . Spicy levels are the real deal here , so be prepared again isn't not the "Thai spicy" you've experienced at your Americanize Thai restaurant. This is a market that also sells groceries and hot food like Nalinh market but much better hot food. They have a tiny seating area if you want to sit down and eat. It is located rather in a sketchy, run down gas station plaza. You may not even be able to tell anything is there but lord behold, a hidden gem! Laotian food is my staple and this place is the best Laotian food I have found in the DFW area. SBT in Garland was my favorite but now this one tops the list. Papaya salad was on point! I looove it burning HOT and that it was!!! Beef soup was good and reminded me of my mom's cooking. Raw larb was also very good! We ordered a large sticky rice and it was so much! It was a size of a reg styrofoam togo box! Prices were very cheap too. This is authentic Laotian food so don't come expecting a full Thai menu. The lady that made everything was so nice too. The people who own/work here are much nicer than the people at Nalinh market which is down the road too. We drove out of our way to try this place and we def don't mind coming back. If you're wanting or craving authentic Laos food, this is the place to come get it! Order the papaya salad and fried sausages and fried quail with sticky rice. Make sure you specify mild if you can't handle the spicy..medium hot is good for the ones that can take some heat and for the ones that can really handle spicy hot, tell them to make it very hot! If you need a cure for a hangover, order the homemade chicken noodle soup. The noodles are homemade and the broth is amazing. I guarantee it will help you feel better!
