Had high hopes TBH. There isn't enough Cambodian representation here and I was looking for some comfort food. Service was nice but the run down food hall ambiance was awkward. Anyway, the food is the most important Sach Ko Ang: It's deep fried which makes them dry and jerky like. Flavor was light and I was pretty sad about it Lort Cha: This was good enough. Not flavorful enough for me but the person eating with me has never had it and really enjoyed it so it's good that others can enjoy it. I really missed having this with some pickled Serrano peppers or something. Twa ko: This was also deep fried. The chew was a bit dense and dry but it wasn't too bad. To be honest it could have been fermented longer and had more seasoning inside the sausage. I missed the punch of galangal and the pungent flavor from fermentation. Overall I probably will never visit again but I enjoy that this place exists and some people can get introduced to Khmer cuisine. read more

Just walking by after grocery shopping and came across this Thai & Cambodian stall in this food court. The lady was friendly and professional offering a sample of Lort cha. I prefer the wife, rice noodle or Pad See-Ew, so that's what I ordered with beef. There are plenty of seats in the food court and in front of this Apsara stall. Clean tables and nice background music made the dinner unexpectedly enjoyable. The food came out quickly and was very tasty. I love the portion as well. Definitely, it's my new Pad See-Ew place to visit now. read more

I absolutely loved my food from here, but I don't remember the name of it. I believe it is the Pad Woon Sen. It reminds me of "pancit bihon" from Cocina Elena in the other building of Asia Times Square. It's glass noodles with shrimp as my chosen meat, sautéed tomatoes and onions as well. I also had the Lychee punch and enjoyed it a lot. The food was made fresh and in a timely manner, and the employees were kind and helpful. I don't recall if the roll at the top of my plate was from there or from a different restaurant in this dining hall. read more

While we were in the Asia Times Square food court to search for some sweets after our lunch and decided to order 2 orders of Mango Sticky Rice at $8 per order. These Mango Sticky Rice were the worst we ever tasted. Each came with one clump of sticky rice pour over with what seems like some fruits from a can. We could not even finish it and had to dump them in the trash. In all fairness, this review only applies to this particular order. Apsara Stumbled upon an Asian plaza near where I was staying. Glad I discovered Apsara, which specialized in Cambodian and Thai cuisines. I got Lort Cha (11.95), which is a Cambodian Stir fried rice pin noodle plate with egg, chives, and bean sprouts. This was a fantastic dish. I rarely find noodles in this shape. It was nostalgic for my mom as well, since she said it reminded her of her childhood in Hong Kong. This dish had a very distinct sweet taste, but was a bit salty towards the end. Aspara has different levels for their stir-fried plates. I selected the pad thai level 3 to be safe. The menu has level 1 to 9000 for $1.50. Level 9000! I think they have so many levels to make you pay more. Level 3 wasn't spicy at all to me. I was thinking about adding shrimp and chicken for $3 each. However, I wasn't paying an additional $6. I had chicken and shrimp at home. I was ordering so many items from the food court that I forgot the pad thai had peanuts. I like peanuts but not usually in my food. The pad thai was ok. I wish I had selected the recommended chicken fried rice. Maybe it would've wowed me. I've been hearing about mango sticky rice but couldn't push myself to get it for $8. The staff are friendly and explained the different menu items since this was my first time here. Pad Wood Sen was amazing. I only do mild but you can tell them the spice level you prefer. There were lots of big shrimps on the noodle dish & that was a surprise, which I was thankful. You pay extra for whatever protein you like. It is worth what you pay for. I have been hearing a lot about Apsara and how good it was which has made me wanting to try it out. I've never had Cambodian cuisine and was excited to try it. Finally made some time to get the the food court at ATS to try this place out and it was worth it. The peach lychee juice and the Thai tea were tasty. We ordered the beef pad see ew with level 3 spice. Spice level was perfect for my daughter. I tried her dish and thought it was better than the pad see ew from my favorite Thai restaurant. I had the Shrimp Lort Cha with level 2 spice. That was the perfect level for me and my mom. A slight kick but not overpowering for my tastebuds. This was my fave dish out of the three we ordered. My mom ordered the Twa Ko combo and the Khmer sausage was delicious. I was not going to try the papaya salad because I tried it once years ago and not like it at all. I thought I didn't like papaya salad, but it turns out that I just had a really bad one that first time and I have been missing out. The papaya salad here has me wanting to try it out at other restaurants because I think I now know what it is supposed to taste like! You order at the counter and they bring you the food to the table. The ladies working tonight were very friendly and the food came out piping hot and fresh. And it was pretty quick. Customer education and expectations is something to figure out. For example, some people from their reviews see Apsara only as a Thai restaurant which becomes a problem later on when pickled papaya and papaya salad are two different things. That chicken dish, bai mon, then has a new interesting side or familiar disappointment. Nonetheless, if you're a fatty like me, it's worth exploring the Cambodian menu to expand on we thought we knew about Southeast Asian cuisine. This is actually the third time that I've come here! Apsara is a Thai/Cambodian restaurant located in The Grand Prairie food court with plenty of parking. Now onto the food, we ordered the drunken noodles and the pin noodles. The Drunken Noodles had a generous serving size. It was a good mix of salty, sweet, and umami. The noodles are still firm and with a plentiful serving of meat! The Pin Noodles were really cool to eat (easily confused with bean sprouts). I don't have a picture because I was too hungry but they're short noodles that taper at the ends. They have an addicting chewy texture and although hard to pick up with chopsticks, a definite must try! All in all, this place is a wonderful lunch and dinner spot with fast service and helpful cashiers. Go support your local Asian business! :) read more

The pad thai was the favorite for this place! I really liked the flavor of the beef with the noodles and everything about it! I wasn't sure if it was going to be good like restaurants but for its price it's worth it. The rice was dry which overall made the plate lose its taste. Not a fan. If you get the poached chicken you get a single, unseasoned thigh and 2 cups of rice for $10. The papaya salad/papaya side was also disappointing and underseasoned. I wish it was spicy, but we weren't offered a spice level. Not even black pepper. The sauce on the side did not remedy the lack of flavor. The beef sticks were good, although they got our order wrong (I ordered the combo, they brought it out as a side). They fixed it, though. They also need to work on their staff training. The chick kept measuring the door over and over again instead of managing the counter. The young man had to run up and take our order. They have Thai iced coffee on the menu on the counter, and on the TV screen, but then he tells me its not on the menu when I tried ordering it (*facepalm*). This is the closest Thai restaurant to where I work, and it has certainly improved since I first ordered in the initial weeks after opening! Apsara is located in the Asia Times Square food court so you can park in front and walk by the green alley to get in. I always order the pad kee mao with fried tofu, which comes with Chinese broccoli, cooked onions, and chopped tomatoes. I love the thick noodles and always ask for extra sauce! Their spice levels are pretty true to what you'd expect, so levels 1-2 are mild-medium and 3+ are for those who love spicy food. They take about 10 minutes to make your dish so feel free to run to another store for boba nearby. I wish they had an order ahead option so I didn't have to spend time waiting for my food after ordering and could just pick it up, but until then I will just order on days where I have some time to drive over, wait, and pick it up! read more

I ordered the orange chicken here. The white rice was super dry and disgusting. The orange chicken... there was barely any chicken! Worst imitation of orange chicken I have ever tasted! They are soo cheap with chicken meat here. They literally cut a thin 1-2cm fillet of chicken and then bread it over and over again until it looks chunky enough. I was excited about trying Cambodian. I don't really want to give a bad review, so a 3 will do. The owner looks like a young guy just starting out his business in a middle of a pandemic. I had the same experience as Christine C with unseasoned chicken and no spice. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be that way, but I do know from similar dishes like khao mun gai or hainanese chicke n and rice that there is sauces for dipping. I was a little disappointed that it didn't taste what I imagined it to be. The beef sticks were tough and overcooked. I will be absolutely come back. Hopefully the food will improve. Quite a disappointment to say the least. I tried the sausage with rice and papaya salad and it was not edible. The sausage was like reheated in microwave and was so hard or overcooked to even try. It was disgusting. You can tell the sausage wasn't good when I opened the container and such a disappointment. My family and I loved this place when it first opened. The quality has gone down significantly. The last few times we went, everything was super dry. Today was the final straw for us. I was sitting in a spot that allowed me to see directly into the kitchen. One of the employees was attempting to defrost beef sticks and she dropped one on the floor where she stood. Instead of doing the sensible thing and throwing the beef stick away, she picked it up and put it with the other beef sticks we ordered and stuck it into the microwave and then proceeded to cook it. She knew I saw her cause she kept looking at me. When I went to talk to them, she denied it and said she threw it away. I wouldn't have walked up there to complain for some 6 dollar beef sticks if I didn't see it myself, and I had ordered these for my small kids. They made us new two extra ones to compensate for this, but you know what? THEY GAVE US THE SAME 6 PIECES THAT WERE ON THAT PLATE with the ones that were dropped. How do we know which one she dropped? On top of that she constantly wrung her hands over the fried rice that I ordered, after touching the ground. At this point we were so turned off we ended up throwing everything we ordered into the trash and left. This place is not the same as it was when it first opened. Tried this new place in Asia Times Square and it turns out pretty good. They make Thai and Cambodian dishes and it's quite spicy even just level 3 out of 5. It's a food court so there's also Beard Papa, Mecca Matcha, a ramen and a sushi togo place. Go try it out. read more
