This hotel is in a great location in downtown Paso! They have a shuttle that runs until 10pm and takes you within a five mile radius. Pick up and drop off which is nice. Free parking, free breakfast and free drink and appetizer at the bar area from 5:30-7:30pm. Rooms are spacious and comfy! This location even has an outdoor pool, family friendly for sure.

Nice room and nice stay. Bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. Bathroom has a very nice layout, separate room for the toilet, large vanity, separate bathtub, and separate shower. Large bathroom. Ample space to hang up clothes and a few drawers for the smaller items. They offer a breakfast buffet, and as my husband put it, better than the average. They custom make omelets. The food was good. Yogurt or Oatmeal with toppings. A few options for toast (breads and bagels). Fruit was only bananas but that was fine. There is also something each evening (they have a full bar) for drinks and snacks, however, we didn't join in. There is a lot of indoor seating in the dining/bar areas, outdoor seating by the pool, and another area by the firepit. If you are looking for areas to meet up with friends or co-workers, lots of options. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Greeted us anytime we walked past the reception desks. There is a shuttle that can take you into town or the airport (5 mile radius max) but for the wineries you are on our own or call an Uber. Cons: 1. Only one elevator and it's a small one. We often had to wait for several especially when people were check out with a cart! Common complaint with others staying at the hotel. They need at least one more for a place this size, and preferably a larger one. 2. Bathroom lighting is very dim, bring your own lighted mirror if you need light for make-up. There is a smaller portable mirror you can take over to the desk, but still not great lighting. 3. Bathroom lighting is automatic (this is where you are thankful it is dimly lit!) so when you walk into the bathroom in the middle of the night (after lots of wine tasting!), lights go on! I am sure this is for safety but a bit annoying! Overall, we enjoyed our stay (3 nights) and would return along with recommending it to others.

Let me begin with I am a fan of this chain. I've stayed at other locations and always had a pleasant stay and this stay was no exception!! What i really appreciated about this particular one they are totally dog friendly. If your dogs will be behaved, they are welcome. They don't discriminate based on dog's weight- as someone who has a giant breed dog this is a huge relief. The staff here are amazing. Very polite very helpful. The facility is clean and feels upscale. It's walkable to downtown but far enough away not to have a lot of noise. Our room was clean and comfortable and quiet although we didn't spend much time there cause we were meeting up with family and it was a quick visit. Whenever we travel if there's an Oxford suites with the first place, I look for a reservation I would definitely stay here again

Booked a weekend trip to Paso on a whim and found this hotel on bookings.com. It ended up being the perfect find and a great experience! The front desk staff was great, the room was clean, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was super cute! We were given two free drink tickets per night of our stay to use during the social hour at the bar which was a nice perk. They also had free breakfast in the morning which came in clutch. I would highly recommend!

    Complimentary drink and appetizer.

Oxford Suites is a sweet, small hotel with great hospitality. The staff members are professional and kind. They provide breakfast in the morning, a complimentary drink, and an appetizer at dinnertime. They are located near several restaurants and stores within walking distance. There are plenty of parking spots. They have an indoor gym. They have one elevator, so it does take a while to call it. They have stairs, so it's not that bad unless you have heavy luggage. There is a $20 fee if you want to check in earlier.

This is an amazing hotel. Located a close walk from the Paso Square. They opened 2019 and the place looks brand new today five years later. Nice happy hour, one free cocktail, wine or beer. And an appetizer! Rooms are spacious and nicely furnished and decorated. Large bathrooms and nice towels. Rooms are quiet. Lots of food and drink items located between the bar and check in desks. Nice hot buffet style breakfast. Omlettes available also. The rates were good and this will be my preferred hotel when visiting Paso Robles.

What a great find for us! We were very impressed with Oxford Suites! The hotel is very clean and very well maintained. Rooms are a nice size with a spacious bath with shower and a nice soaking tub. They have an onsite bar- cafe where they have happy hour every night-a free drink and an appetizer. Breakfast, also included in price, is a big spread of options including made to order omelettes. Location is convenient, just a few blocks from the downtown square. And prices is very reasonable. We usually stay at a AirBNB, but now that we discovered Oxford, we will definitely be back here when staying in Paso Robles.

Well, don't pay extra for the early check-in cause it isn't guaranteed unfortunately. We paid online for early check in since we'd made reservations for a few wineries but when we called just to make sure we would be guaranteed an early check in, not only were we told no we weren't, but the lady hung up on us. Needless to say when we went to check in we had a few choice words. They were redeemed however with one of the guys up front who was able to calm us down and give us the early check in we paid for. The room is nice...has no closet but comfy. Went down to the bar to use our free drink tickets. They only allow well drinks, beer or house wines, I ended up just paying for a Tito's and tonic. The bartenders were cool and informative about where to eat later in the evening. We enjoyed the swift pickup of the shuttle from the Firestone across the street and we got a kick out of the driver! The free breakfast was nice! There was everything from oatmeal to made to order omelettes. I will most definitely hit this place up to stay the next time I'm on the coast.

Bathrooms are spacious with soft close barn doors

A great place for an overnight! The room was so spacious, clean and new! There was a great soaking tub we took advantage of, the traditional Oxford suites breakfast, good for people who like eggs and nothing for picky eaters, but if you need something to get you going it works. The lobby is very chic, there are meeting rooms, and the social hour (one drink per person and appetizer) was a great perk. The bar tender was nice and efficient! There is a pool, outdoor seating area with string lights, and ample breakfast seating. There is nothing within short walking distance, so be aware. Be aware, one elevator for the whole hotel! Stay on a lower level or use the stairs (outdoor opening). Overall we would stay here again!

AFFORDABLE GEM "It's my Birthday!" I said excitedly. The front desk manager smiled, "Well then, we just need to make it extra special for you. Let me see what we have." Upgrades in room size and elegance are just a few of my favorite things! He gave us the best room he could. After checking in, we headed to our room to settle down. It had everything one would expect from a vacation: dim lighting, ample space, AC quietly humming at 45 hertz, and beds precisely prepared for relaxation. As we settled down, we heard a knock at the door. We answered it to find an enthusiastic employee rolling in a cart with sparkling wine! With a vibrant smile, he warmly said, "Happy Birthday, Anton!" What a meaningful surprise! This hotel is more than just a place to stay. It's a community, filled with hidden nooks, conference rooms, a pool, and a fitness center. The staff's warm and friendly attitude made us feel right at home. We were treated to a complimentary appetizer and drink, and the free breakfast was a great start to our day. For a truly special experience, ask for a personalized omelet! I always tell my friends that Oxford Suites is a tremendous centralized contemporary spot at affordable pricing! Stay a few nights - you will be delighted.

Can't forget about that fun peloton ride!

Employees are very nice and welcoming. Clean hotel, nice dog area, and amazing bar staff very friendly and clean always remembered our drink order. The gym was perfect, along with the sauna after a long day. Morning complementary breakfast was nice. Along with the daily free bar beverage! Thank you Oxford for a great two week stay. :)

From the outside, it's rather unassuming, but once you go in the front doors, the inner real beauty of this location is revealed. The courtyard is simply amazing, and like a bubble in space and time that offers a refuge from the outside world. In the evening the fireplaces are burning with hardwood every night and they offer fresh made s'mores to hotel guests. There's actually a s'mores menu. The whole environment is almost like something from a movie. They've also got a wonderful library that is tastefully appointed with many wonderful and interesting different books to read. It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. They also offer breakfast in the morning, but it's a little bit later than some other places so if you have to get an early start, then you probably won't be able to catch it. Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would say this experience is really good for the boutique traveler that is looking for a peaceful, unhurried trip.

For my Wife's Birthday this past November, we booked our first trip to Paso Robles…read more To be perfectly honest... I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

As we walked down the hallway we noticed that it was heavliy sented with an artifical fragrance that was overpowering. The room was of the new type, a box with the cabinets and table bolted to the wall, not built in. It was of average size, not a suite. I noticed, even for $400 per night, there were no robes provided and only on luggage rack. I called the front desk and was told there were no robes, and they would send over another luggage rack. We waited about an hour then decided to go out to dinner. when we came back, about 2 hours later the rack was leaning against the door. I went to the front desk and asked where I might be able to get coffee and the staff of three all looked at each other and said they did not have any coffee, then once person said they had it at the bar upstairs. The rooms are small and the bedding and finishes are just not great quality. The bathroom very tiny, no working exhaust fan and the room itself just had one tiny window so it just felt a bit claustrophobic for two people. The staff experience was a bit mixed and could use some polishing. The positives: You are walking distance to the square. There is an interior common area which is a nice lounge. The weather out was awful so we escaped and hung out in the lounge for a bit to get out of our room. They do have an outside common area as well but you're literally on the side of a main road on an 'island' in the middle of the parking lot. I am not sure even in good weather I'd feel comfortable sitting there. If being walking distance to the square is a priority, and you aren't spending much time in your room this might be fine for you. We ended up staying our third night at the Farmhouse Motel which is just a bit further down the road and couldn't recommend it more. Everything is so well done and priced very comparably.

We liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. The downside to our room was that it was on the 2nd floor and we had to carry our things up the stairs since there was no elevator. Do ask for a ground floor if you want to avoid walking up stairs. I became more mindful of these details in recent years when husband suffered from shortness of breath and had a challenging time doing stairs. The property looks nice with several different buildings surrounding a center common grassy lawn area with curved walkways & mini bridge next to their herb garden and koi pond. There are little fish and some ginormous ones in their koi pond. There is also a pool at the rear of the property. It was easy to find parking near our room. The grounds look lovely from your room or from a distance. But we noticed dog poop on the grass when we wanted to walk over to one of the sofas in the grassy area. BE CAREFUL when walking on the grassy parts. People who bring pets here are not mindful about cleaning up after their pets. This is in stark contrast to our stay at Cambria Shores Inn during the previous days (a pet friendly hotel with lots of little dogs staying and no dog poop messes in the outdoor common areas). I guess the pet owners who stay at Cambria Shores Inn are more respectful than the ones who stay here at Paso Robles Inn. Another thing about the outdoor seating is that they look great from a distance, but their uncleanliness can be seen once you walk closer. They were dirty and there was even one set of sofas that had poop on them. It's as if the hotel staff does not go around and wipe the cushions down each day (which I have seen hotel staff do at other hotels and it truly makes a difference). It looks like a nice place to sit & relax outside, but doesn't really work out that way in practice. Hotel is conveniently located near shops & restaurants. The one challenge is crossing Spring St. which is way busier than I ever imagined it to be before booking a room here. LOL The downtown area is pleasant, and you don't need to drive anywhere unless you're visiting a nearby winery.
