I felt like this dentist took advantage of my older mom and talked her into a specific deep cleaning. They didn't explain they billed $904 for it and insurance felt the appropriate payment was $72. She paid over $230 out of her pocket. It seemed like they took advantage of her good nature, talked too quickly about what they wanted to do, did NOT tell her costs, and I feel it wasn't necessary. Then, when I called to talk about it, I had to try three different locations (seems this doctor moves around) and finally got her billing person to talk to. I gave her all the pertinent information (3 patient identifiers), told her what she had done, confirmed address and insurance type, and she told me that she had paid and owed nothing more. Then I asked about the particulars of this treatment and she cried HIPPA. Seemed obvious that she no longer wanted to talk to me and that she doesn't understand the HIPPA regulations. Bottom line: I DO NOT trust this group. read more
