    Oysters 11/25/2025

While strolling down the boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta with the beach just steps away, my family and I were looking for a place to grab a bite. My parents specifically wanted oysters, so when we came across Oyster Grill, it felt like the perfect spot to stop. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere--open, airy, and with a beautiful view overlooking the beach. It's definitely not the cheapest option on the malecón, but the setting and presentation make it feel like more of an upscale experience. We started with two dozen oysters, and I was pleasantly surprised. They were on the smaller side, which I actually prefer, and they were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The Oyster Rockefeller ended up being the standout of the meal for me--rich, savory, and cooked just right. If you're an oyster fan, this is definitely the dish to try. We also ordered the shrimp ceviche. It was decent and tasted fresh, but nothing particularly memorable. Wanting something else to snack on, we asked for chips and salsa, which turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. Instead of a basket of chips, we got two oversized chips and some crackers, which felt a little odd and not really worth ordering. As for the service, it was okay overall. There was a bit of a language barrier at times, but the staff was polite, patient, and tried their best to make sure we had what we needed. The food took a reasonable amount of time to come out, and we never felt rushed despite the restaurant being fairly busy. All in all, Oyster Grill offered a solid dining experience with some genuinely delicious oysters and a great beachfront view. While not everything we ordered hit the mark, the highlights were good enough for me to say it's worth a visit--especially if you're craving oysters and want to enjoy them with the ocean right in front of you.

Came here with a reservation for 10 people. The ambience is great, located in the busy zona romantica right in front of the water. It was night time so we could not see the water but the breeze was nice! The restaurant is decorated nicely and they were playing great house music the entire time. We ordered two dozens of raw oysters and a dozen of grilled oysters. The raw oysters were amazing and tasted very fresh- not fishy at all! The grilled oysters lacked flavor for me especially the Rockefeller ones. For my entre I ordered the lonja de percado zarandeada and it was delicious! Perfectly cooked and so so flavorful. I also really liked the small portion but I know that this may be an issue for others. My sister ordered the charred octopus and mentioned that she thought it was too charred. Overall I think the group enjoyed this place but no one was blown away by it. Like others have mentioned, this place is a little pricey for the area. In total it came out to about $50 per person with appetizers and a round of drinks included.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. We ordered a half dozen oysters because we were somewhat skeptical, but my partner and I later agreed we should have ordered more. The BLUE CRAB TOSTADA IS TO DIE FOR! I cannot stop raving about it or thinking about it. Juicy lump crab, soft avocado, etc... The service and cocktails were great as well. Please stop by if you're in PV.

Some of the best seafood around! Great oysters and octopus, and the staff is always very friendly

This place was soooo good! It's in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta. You can people watch as you eat your meal. AND, they had a dark beer! WINNING. Along with that was the amazing octopus they served with the most delicious aioli sauce. It's is also served amongst a bed of sweet potato chips. They were good too! And of course, you cannot eat at an Oyster establishment without having oysters! The lemon, garlic oysters were the best! So fresh, light and tasty! The place is open, meaning you have a fresh breeze flowing through. The only thing I did not care for (which seems to be the norm in Puerto Vallarta) is asking for a tip. There's one woman who goes around taking all payments and asked, would you like to leave a tip. Again, I'm a tipper. However, it was irritating to be constantly asked for tips. The baby octopus was the bomb tho.

Had half dozen mixed raw oysters, Peruvian ceviche, and a mojito. Wow. The oysters were fresh, crisp, and delicious. Ceviche was a great mix of sour, herbal, and salty. Mojito was refreshing. Update: went back and had another half dozen raw oysters, and half a dozen grilled. Delicious! The ribeye burger was really flavorful, the blue fin tuna ceviche fresh, and the dulce de lece was nice and rich.

By far our favorite restaurant during our 10 day trip to PV. We had dinner there twice. Good service and right on the Malecon. Our favorites are the Rockafeller Oysters and the Tuna Shishimi. Good wait staff and actually the price was very affordable.

Walked in for dinner on a Saturday with a group of 5. The service was great and all of the food was fresh and came out fast. We loved to oysters, tuna tatami, and the burger. Great place to eat and enjoy local seafood.

Cooked oysters in half shell with butter and parsley. Don't forget the Tabasco!

Went there for a late lunch. Had heard about the oysters, so needed to try them. So good! I did six of the raw and six off the cooked. The cooked ones were sautéed in butter and parsley. I always put a couple drops of Tabasco on each one. Gone in ten minutes. The bartenders were great. On my way out, I saw a couple having prawns and tuna. If I wax still seated, I would have ordered those as well. The prawns were huge! Right off the beach. Great view snd great value!

Grilled baby octopus with thin fried sweet potato

People say touristy, I say ambiance. The best meal we have had in a nice restaurant in a while. San Blas oysters. Smaller and sweet, served with two different flavors of vinegar. Tuna ceviche. Tried hard not to lick the bowl. Every once in awhile a chile had a little kick. The grilled red snapper served with a roasted tomato salsa was amazing. Served whole with homemade tortillas. The grilled baby octopus was tender, had nice flavor and was served with a tartar sauce and thin slices of fried sweet potatoes. A lemonade, not too sweet with a tajin like salt to complement. Right on the Malecón next to some very loud clubs. You cannot hear these inside the oyster restaurant. Out waiter spoke fluent English and was extremely professional.

My new favorite place in Puerto Vallarta, and I've been to this city many times and eaten all over. Definitely more like U.S. prices, but you absolutely get what you pay for here. It's not just the location. A beautiful, airy patio with a view of the Malecón and the ocean. I could spend all day listening to the water and people watching here. Lovely staff that's super attentive without being clingy. Great little wine menu that pairs perfectly with their food. Refreshing craft cocktails (not just your typical margarita list -- but more gin & tonics and such). Absolutely the must tries are the clams. If you like fresh, cold seafood (like oysters), get this first! The "chocolata" and "reina" are both amazing: huge live clams, chopped up and put into a delicious little bath of lemon, oil, salt and maybe something else. Super fresh-tasting and something I could eat every day (and probably will)! And nothing like I've tried elsewhere. Oysters are great of course! Raw or grilled available. Scallop and blue crab dish is also amazing if you like ceviche flavors on super fresh seafood. For a hangover, nothing better than their chicharrón though (crispy, fatty, delicious pork). Also great veggie options like grilled heart of palm. Will add once I've tried everything else ;)

Dope place to come and watch the pirate ship and fireworks from. Open concept dining with ceiling to window views all open. I was recommended to this place by a friend who visited. I enjoyed a dozen char boiled oysters and some sparking water with lime as I awaited the fireworks. Oysters were fresh and service was quick and fast. I wish I would've had time to see what else this place had to offer but I was tired from walking all day. Very conveniently located on the malećon so you can't miss it.

I honestly could have ordered two. The house-made ricotta was creamy, the tomatoes were fresh and sweet, and the aged balsamic brought everything together perfectly. For my main, I had the Asian noodle salad with grilled shrimp. It was refreshing, light, and full of flavor without feeling heavy. The grapefruit added a bright citrus note, and while I initially thought the candied pecans would be an odd pairing, they worked surprisingly well. My only suggestion would be to remove the shrimp tails to make the dish a little easier to enjoy. I finished with the mango-strawberry almond parfait, which was the perfect ending to the meal. It was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet, making it a great dessert after two flavorful courses. The service throughout the meal was warm and welcoming. I'm still working on my Spanish, and everyone was patient and encouraging, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
