Fabulous restaurant in a vibrant street in Zona Romantica. We walked in without a reservation (probably not recommended) and managed to get seated right away in a table near the open kitchen. Service was knowledgeable and quick (but not too quick). We had a creamy and well seasoned guacamole to start with and then my spouse had the nicoise salad with shrimp and I had the fish special. We came by on a Sunday night at 9:30pm. We were seated right away. We had the option of sitting downstairs or upstairs which we opted for. Every staff there was very nice and welcoming. It had a great vibe. Love the hanging pothos from the ceiling. Each table got complimentary cucumber slices with lime, radish and jicama which was nice. We ordered a hibiscus drink, a passion fruit drink, their famous seafood chowder which the staff brought out in 2 bowls. Very appreciated. A shrimp and octopus cocktail and Baja fish tacos. Food, service, and ambiance A+ here! If you get a chance, sit on the rooftop! Very romantic and earthy feel! We were greeted by the rain Gods after just sitting down, but luckily, they have a sliding roof that worked wonders to provide shelter from the downpour! Their Sea Bass was AMAZING, but unfortunately my husband couldn't eat it since it had crutons in it. We didn't use Google translate, and didn't catch that it contained gluten. We returned the dish, and our server and her manager was very nice and understanding and took the dish off our bill. My husband loved the octopus dish, but it was a downer for me. It lacked flavor and simply just didn't taste good. The passion fruit margarita was on the sweet side, so I don't recommend it if you prefer a more balanced flavored cocktail. If you find yourself at Joe Jack's, get the Sea Bass! You won't be disappointed!! Unless you have celiac, then get something other than the octopus! read more

I have to admit this is a very touristy place. I was reluctant to stop but i was drenched in sweat and tired from having travelled that day. Second time here and it was as great as the first. Well with this experience, we walked by earlier in the day and notice that they had fried chicken Sunday. Yes fried chicken at a seafood restaurant. Stopped in for dinner and sat upstairs again. Main dining floor downstairs has the bar and seats along the sidewalk but upstairs. Second floor, also open air is a more intimate feel. There's also a private room there as well. Started off with the usual as last, the poke and shrimp aguachile. A plate of veggies was brought out right when you sit down. Served with a slice of lime and chili. Waiter recommended we do the smaller portion of starter as we were getting main entrees. The seafood, fresh as always and full of flavor. These two dish, I do highly recommend. For the entree, the fried or grilled whole fish. You could have them deboned it right there for you. It's a presentation in itself. It a pretty hefty size fish that's great for sharing or yourself. Served with a side of rice and beans. And of course, the fried chicken served on Sunday. That was accompanied by mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw. Honestly wasn't expecting too much about it as it's a seafood restaurant but it was quite tasty. Juicy with the right amount of crunch. And it's done right with bone in. I hate places that say it fried chicken but it ends up being a chicken breast. It was tasty and quite enjoyable. The table that came after us, mentioned that they were there for the chicken as well. Service was great as last. Food didn't take long to come out. Drinks good as always. I always enjoy coming here when visiting PV. The service is always great, the decor is awesome. So many beautiful plants! Had to come back here for the sea food chowder. It was so delicious! Very hearty and filling. Wish it was served with some bread. But it alone is worth the visit. Also got the deviled eggs and 1/2 pound peel and eat shrimp. The eggs were good, but a bit overly seasoned. ratio of yolk filling to egg was very off too, had to take some of the filling off. The shrimp was yummy. So fresh! We finally stopped in during this vacation, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The food was a solid 10/10, the drinks were amazing, and the service was truly top-tier. Everything from the energy of the place to how well we were taken care of made the experience even better. Did some research before heading to PV with my husband and two kids. We walked into this establishment on a Tuesday afternoon. The place was not busy so we got to pick where we wanted to sit. We ordered some guacamole, two sodas and my husband and I got a drink each. Everyone was very friendly and they checked in on us constantly. The guac was delicious and so were the drinks. We were lucky to sit upstairs on a perfect evening. The roof retracts, exposing the beautiful night sky. Because one of the spotlights shone in my dining partner's face, I sat to block it. That was a good move but every time I moved, he got a blast of glaring lights in his eyes. Turns out, I'm not excellent at sitting still. The service and food was good. I had tasty and generous garlic shrimp and green beans atop rice. I'd order that again. My spotlighted dining partner had a delicious, tender steak. My strawberry lemonade was a bit too much (think freckled lemonade from Chevy's or Red Robin in the states). As the ice melted, the drink improved. This was my ordering error--I like simple foods and drinks. My husband's margarita was wonderful, just like every margarita he's enjoyed in PV. While we had a good experience, I'm not sure we'll be back. The vibe felt off to me. They were great at turning tables (and they were busy) but it felt very mechanical to me. I like a slower experience for dining out. I can see why Yelpers rate this place with 5 stars, but it didn't feel like the other restaurants I've come to know and love in this beautiful city. read more

Came here on Christmas because we heard how great the grilled fish was. Everyone was right. The small fish was HUGE and not small. It was cooked perfectly and our waitress deboned our fish for us. It comes with rice and beans and corn tortillas so you can make your own tacos if you want. The fish was a little spicy and cooked in really good sauce. I want it now. We also got the fried fish and chips. That fish was cooked so well and the batter was crispy. Very flaky. Don't skip out on the tuna poke appetizer either. The wonton crisps were delicious. I eaten here a few times (I prefer the bar now). Ordered the Huachinango (red snapper) a couple weeks back it was Not red snapper it was I believe Pargo which I don't like at all it's not the same (more bones and more oily flesh but looks like red snapper in PV alot of places will swap it out because of lower cost or out of season) anyway it was in a nasty tasting sauce. Worst Ive ever eaten. The good... fish and chips (but a little greasy) and a appetizer that's like a mayan Hummus but made with pepitos Yum!!! I love that stuff!!!
