This hidden gem is tucked away up in the Romantic zone off the beach. It's a cash only establishment and very simple decorations. The menu is simple and I am giving a 4/5 because everything BUT our main dish were delicious. We started with tequila obviously, chips and salsa (yum), octopus (tasty) and the ravioli (just ok) then we ordered the platter for two and eh.... sadly it was underwhelming. I decided to try it again. This time with worse results, like the before them the coke arrives in a warm can it quickly melts the ice leaving warm, dilute, flat coke. This time bugs are everywhere (flies swarmed when my food arrived. One plate came out with 2 dead ants and one still moving). The Red Snapper tasted good but was hard to eat, skin and head were still on and it wasn't deboned. That and all the bugs made it hard to eat. The server was nice but I won't be back. When I arrived I was the only one there. Puerto Vallarta is still trying to recover from the pandemic. I order a combination steak and shrimp fajitas with Just onions. ( I don't like peppers ) was served with flour tortillas. A very nice size portion. I recommend this place. read more

We were randomly walking down the street from our hotel and decided to try Polo's. It's by far our best dinner in PV and we'll definitely come back again. Best service, very attentive staff, delicious drinks and amazing food. We ordered three different entrees to share as everything sounded so good. We ordered the giant coconut shrimp, the chicken breast and fettuccine shrimp. All three were delicious but my favorite was the coconut shrimp in mango sauce. So....walked by this little oasis and insisted we eat dinner here tonight and it was a winner!!! OMG-so many choices of fresh and delicious prepared entrees-how was I going to be able to choose??? We walked up and down Basilio Badillo looking for a restaurant that would be able to accommodate both my parents and my pescatarian husband. Polo's did more than that! As we sat down we were told that if what we wanted wasn't on the menu, they would gladly make it for us! We did, however, find meals for all of us on the menu and they were all delicious. From salad, to shrimp, to margaritas everything was fresh, the flavors were on point and the staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back when we return to PV! read more

I am being generous with the one star. This is a good location & the previous establishment Mama Rosa's was exceptional. Unfortunately, this place is a dud! Difficult to know who the waiter are. Are they bus boys or waiters ? Impossible to get anyone's attention. I started my dinner with soup. To their credit, it was delicious. That's where it ended. My seafood pasta was bland with an un appealing Alfredo sauce. I sent it back to be redone. When the dish was represented to my table, it was as bad or worse than the dish I had sent back. They don't accept credit cards. To their credit, the deducted the pasta from my bill. I won't be returning ! read more

Order your delicious margarita and then ask Christian for his recommendation or choose any item from the menu - you're gonna love it! Whether you choose beef, chicken, or fish, Polo's will deliver an exquisite dish with great flavor. I recommend you try the Mahi Mahi marinara and ask for the pasta to go with it instead of the rice. Also, the party for 1 is a great combination of scallops, red snapper, and shrimp in a magnificent sauce. The bread they serve with the Meal is fresh made, slightly toasted and delightful. I have been to Polo's for three years on vacations to Puerto Vallarta. It is a wonderful seafood restaurant, family owned, with a varied menu. Of special note are the flavorful sauces and combinations of food to go along with the fish. "Hector's" for example is Mahi-Mahi with a wonderful carmelized onion and scallop mouse topping. My friends and I were referred to this restaurant and we were not disappointed! We had a party of 12, so we called ahead because its a small space. When we arrived they had everything ready for us and were able to accommodate our large group. The waiter was fun and attentive and made sure we were having a great time. The complimentary chips and salsa was amazing! Prices were really good, even better with the exchange from USD to Pesos. My margarita was about $4 USD. Polo's is as good as it gets for fresh seafood, any style grilled, fried, sautéed, but also very good seafood ravioli and pasta. They serve one of the best Mojito and I've tried many. Had Catch of the Day, fresh Tuna. It was fresh just brought in from local fisherman 2 hours ago. So fresh if you tasted it blind folded you would never know it was tuna or better yet a fish. I have eaten fresh sashimi since I was a kid born in Japan. This was so fresh, I could have eaten it uncooked had I known. Their house seasoning of this pan seared tuna served on vegetables were very tastefully prepared. My wife had chicken fettuccine (I would have had scallops or shrimp) and the creamy sauce was very tasty. A nice clean setting. Not particularly known for the finer decor as what you find in more higher end restaurants if you were into more ambience with classy waiters. Much more casual which is just fine. And much more reasonable priced because of it. So if great foods at reasonable price is what you want. This is IT. We love the place. Chef has been there for 20 years. read more

We were recommended good seafood restaurants by our hotel concierge. In that list was Mariscos Polo. We confused this place with that one and we paid the price. We were looking for good local seafood not specifically catered to gringos. This place was exactly what we were trying to avoid. It was close to our hotel, had a good location and menus in both Spanish and English. They brought our drinks out then we waited for a good while and no one came to take our order until we flagged someone down. By no means was the place even half full but getting someone to give us service was rough. We waited over an hour for our food to come which I feel was wholly unacceptable. No one checked on us even once during that time. When the food finally came it was unnecessarily ornate for the poor quality of food. Lobster was poor. Scallops undercooked and flavorless. Pretty underwhelming. Maybe if they spent less time decorating the plates and actually serving my food, I could recommend it more. I ordered a Coke when the food came and it took asking two people over a 15 minute period to finally get it. It took about as long to get out check. Don't waste your time here. Just more generic fare catered to idiot tourists who don't know better. I'll be trying Mariscos Polo next time. read more
