Cool little sport bar located in a bowling alley. Cindy the bartender made us feel at home the moment we stepped in. Greeted us with warm inviting smile. Bar has two pool tables for your enjoyment plus a big screen tv for sports day. She had played up beat music for us which made me start the day with some dancing. It was a quiet Friday afternoon with no one else present which made it more fun for all of us. Even sat down had some good conversations with the bartender. If i could give this place 0 stars, i would. Walked in with a few other people for a couple drinks, and was helped by an older lady with auburn hair and glasses. She had attitude from the start. 2 people i was with went up to the bar to get another drink each. She gave 1 a plastic cup with beer, switching them from a glass to plastic, so my other friend asked for a glass. As a person who works in the food industry, i NEVER argue with a customer and always do whats asked, as satisfaction is key. This lady rudely states "i'm running out of glasses." We left no tip, as we felt unhappy with how she treated us, and she says out loud "No tip, hope you have a nice f*ing day." WOW. She cussed at us in front of EVERYONE. She should not be working in customer service. She then mumbles to another guest, talking bad about us. But it doesn't stop there. She had to stomp off and turn up the bar volume insanely high to talk more. Childish and unprofessional. I do NOT recommend this place at all. It gets even worse when we speak to the manager of the bowling alley, where the bar is located. But i'll leave my review there on Fountain Bowl. Save your money. I think they changed the name back to Ozzies! It is located inside Fountain Bowl in Fountain Valley. It was closed for awhile because of Covid-19 and then re-opened July 8, 2021 with new owners. The new owners re-hired a lot of the employees that had been laid off; which I thought was a good start! That made it easier for the regulars to start coming back. Ozzie's is a great neighborhood dive bar. It's very down to earth (come on, it's connected to a bowling alley!), and attracts easy going, friendly people. Of course, this doesn't make it a destination spot by any means, but if you live in the area and you're just looking to unwind over some no-frills drinks, this is a good place to do it. They hold karaoke on a pretty intense looking stage from Thursday - Saturday. Apparently they also have a free stand-up comedy show on Wednesday. The KJ was awesome and very accommodating. Too many times I've seen KJs who are far from that. Drinks are cheap and stiff. We just ordered basic stuff (one type of alcohol + mixer, beer), but Sergio took good care of us. Food was surprisingly decent! The hot wings were more than decent (got lemon pepper and regular flavors), the potato skins were ok, and the BF said that the burger was good as well. Cant really say anything bad about a cool, dimly lit bar inside a bowling alley.... I have been here a few times. Most recently last week. The service had never really been too great, but this last time the bartender was very friendly, and she got our drink order fast. I did have a body meets the floor experience when I first walked in. Yes, I had a "few" drinks before I arrived there... after a "few" more drinks... and I probably really only blame myself... but I didnt see the.... what was it even, dance floor? Karaoke Stage? I had no expectations whatsoever coming into this place, and all I knew about it was it was a bar inside a bowling alley that the town drunk that comes into my local bar gets tuned up here first. I've been to bowling alley bars before, and pictured a seedy little place that smells like feet, filled with old men and desperate, past middle age women sharing high balls and talking about that time in 1976 when they bowled "that perfect game." Boy, was I wrong. Some friends invited me for karaoke, and I was surprised to see a clean, full bar, that served food and stiff drinks, encased in a soundproof bubble. My bottled coors light was a mere $3.75, and the cocktails were cheap, heavy on the liquor, and served in plastic cups. First night in was a thursday. Small-ish crowd, and since I came to sing and drink, accomplished both. Sang 5 songs, drank twice that. Fun times. Came back Saturday night around 10:30, and there was a full on hillbilly themed birthday party, packed bar, and KJ Tony still managed to get me and three friends up on stage for two songs each. That's pretty good, considering the amount of people in there. Thanks Tony! Didn't try the food, but shoulda, since I had to do a fast food run on the way home. Next time. The sound system is great for singers, but couldn't understand a word tony said. I think there's 4 mics, so it's good for your drunken group butchering bohemian rhapsody, but that doesn't mean you should sing it. Please, let that damn song rest in peace alongside freddie. Bunch tvs with sports on, some cute servers, quick and knowledgeable bartenders, and a fun time. And yeah, there's bowling on the other side of the fishbowl, but I've got bad wrists from crashing skateboards all my life, and I don't like wearing shoes other people's feet have been in, but if that's your thing, knock yourself out. Aahhhh, dive bars within bowling alleys are simply the best opportunities for amazing people watching. Plus they offer a great way to make you feel better about whatever current situation you are facing, (trust me on this.) Located within the Fountain Bowl, I visited Ozzie's on a Friday night with a group of Yelp friends. Walking through the main doors of the bowling alley, Ozzie's is on the left. Glass walls, you can see the entertainment inside. There are plenty of tables and a very spacious stage. They have big screen TV's all around featuring favorite movies and sporting events. We specifically came for Karaoke night. Tony the Karaoke DJ is awesome and knows how to adjust that equalizer to make most sound alright. He seems fair to the rotation and mixes things up with group sing-along's every so often. The crowd was what you would expect at an OC bowling alley. Some people came to show off their talent, others came to just get on stage and have fun, and some came just to watch, drink and evaluate. My bff comes here all the time for the karaoke (where she also met her hubby) and talked us into trying their new 'free comedy night'. The decor is cleaner and less dingy than the dive bar I was expecting, and the staff was generally fun and friendly. Some say they didn't like the lounge/bowling alley setup, but I loved it and it reminded me of drunk bowling back home. In fact I wish we'd bowled instead. The comedy, sadly, was really pretty lame. The stage has this weird ramp and railing setup and it just screams low end open mic night. A couple of the comics were ok for free comedy, but some were like deer in the headlights new. They had this older guy do all the intros who was trying waaaaay too hard, and spent all his time talking about how bad he was doing or how stuff worked better last week. It was weird and pretty boring. There was a cute skinny comic (Richie?) who they should use for the intros. He was by far the best and made us laugh the most. So not really a great time at all and not a place I'd recommend for comedy but I'd definitely go back to try the karaoke. read more

If you look at me, you would never suspect that I turn up my nose at the likes of Sutra and Tentation for long nights spent at the bar inside Fountain Bowl, but it's true. I would spend very night at Ozzie's if I could. Why, you ask? Well, I guess I should let you in on a little secret. I am obsessed with karaoke. OB-SESSED. Ozzie's has karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays and it is my favorite place to go in Orange County to sing. Reasons I like Ozzie's: * Cheap booze. (Duh) * It's never too crowded. Even though there is a random crowd a lot of the time, it never gets super packed. For karaoke-types, this is good because it means you actually get to sing more than one or two songs. It's nice to be able to do a wide variety. * Ample seating. * Nice people. Ash does the karaoke on Fridays and Rhonda is on Saturdays. Both are nice and friendly. I like Ash because he has "My Humps" in his own, personal collection and indulges me when I feel like singing it. Rhonda is cool because she gives you a nice "Awwww yah!" after you sing. * Diverse crowd. Great for people watching. There are the karaoke regulars, old people, young people, the group of Asians in the back, weirdos, and the random birthday party who thought karaoke would be a good idea. It always brings a wide variety of songs and antics. * Free popcorn. (Duh) Seriously, I know it's a bowling alley karaoke bar, but I love Ozzie's. I fell in love with it randomly years ago when some friends and I accidentally wandered in after bowling and ended up singing karaoke with Ozzie himself and his sons and my love was born again when my karaoke obsession started to take over my life and I needed a place to let it all out. I can't believe I'm just now getting around to reviewing Ozzie's (thanks for the prompt, yelp!) So I'm not some too-cool fashionista club gal, but still, this isn't the kind of place most of my friends in the non-karaoke world would expect to find me on a Friday or Saturday night. But the bartenders are super friendly and pour heavy. They're also super down to earth and remember your name even if you're an infrequent regular (like me). Stephanie the KJ is the absolute best thing about this place. Even though the karaoke equipment/sound system are pretty lacking (hence the minus 1 star,) she knows how to make the best of what she's got (it's not her equipment, it belongs to the bowling alley.) Another thing that makes it a fun spot to drop by for a song on a weekend night is that you never know what to expect. It's in a bowling alley, so some nights it'll just be the regulars with a sprinkling of bowlers waiting for their lanes. Some nights there will be huge parties in their (often spillover from the bowling alley) where it can turn into a complete shit show. But it's always entertaining and Stephanie doesn't put up with too much craziness so you never feel like there's going to be "trouble," just that someone might fall flat on their face with an audience or get 86'd. read more

Honestly, i knew going there it WASNT going to be AMAZING. I really only tagged along because it was my friends bday! how could a bar in a bowling alley be that exciting? The place, is super small and has way to many chairs and tables in it! thing that really pissed me off was the big hawaiian bartender. I got a Newcastle when i got there from the blonde girl behind the bar, on my debit card which was cool ( $4.25- w.e !) . Then like 30-35 mins later im like im gonna get a margarita - mind you its on the rocks and regular flavor, get a BLENDER !! anyway, i go back to get one and the big bartender guy doesnt wanna take my card cause there's a " $10 dollar minimum" i was like WTF. and the bar is a walkup? kinda weird. not even having someone take orders? esp if your servicing the bowling alley too? so that sent me off. Secondly we got there at like 830 , and i went to the bath room like twice, and seeing the state of the bathroom, and noticing the every half and hour bathroom list hadnt been checked off since we got there was just a lil gross. Free pop corn but then it stopped around 930? lol The song book is ok but the wait to actually do your song is LONG we waited 35 mins for one of our songs !!! haha read more

In trying to find a decent little karaoke joint in my area, I ran across a place with one review called Ozzie's. I love to 'oke it up, so I decided to give the place a shot. My 1st impression was a bit of a letdown...Ozzie's is the bar area of the Fountain Bowl. I mean, I'm totally right in assuming that a "karaoke" bar in a bowling alley on a Friday night would be totally lame, right? Wrong. The area isn't huge, but it was a decent size with many tables (almost too many to fit in the area). My friends and I took up shop at a bar table near the back of the bar and immediately set up to find the book. Song selection wasn't stellar, but solid for a venue of this nature. Once we got our jams picked out, our turns came up rather quickly and the KJ was very friendly. Drink prices were decent (pitchers ~$10-13, they serve pitchers so I can't complain) and because the place isn't ridiculously packed, it doesn't take long to order an appletini...i mean shot of whiskey. All in all, karaoke is about some good tunes, brews and friends, so if you roll in with 3-4 of your peeps, I guarantee you'll have a good time. read more

I've been going to Ozzie's for 2+ years now (for the karaoke Thursday through Saturday nights). The place was really cramped until their expansion in February 2016. The expansion really enhanced the overall experience. The staff has always been friendly and efficient (especially Sergio). The KJ (Tony) is outstanding. I've been following his shows for more than 7 years now. He's a great addition to Ozzie's. If the antics on stage don't capture your attention, the plethora of televisions throughout the place will The food is good as are the prices.. Though Ozzie's is a bar located in a bowling alley, there is good separation between the two. Overall, the redesign really elevated the place. Give Ozzie's a shot (at least for the karaoke). Came here for birthday celebration on a Saturday. Place was remodeled since last time I visited this place. There is a mixture of crowd--young and old. Which is cool! The place has an ok vibe. I love karaoke. I'm glad this place has it. Pretty good singers too. I assume they are regulars. I love the fact they have a contest.. That's awesome... However, my big issue is that i was a newbie and didnt get to sing. I've been heavy in the karaoke scene in the bay area.. So i know how busy and frustrating it can be as a KJ. I've been going to Ozzie's on and off for years and it is great especially since it's been under new karaoke host's and they've spruced up the place. Everybody is friendly and outgoing there. There seems to be enough security and not a lot of problems. It's a fun, friendly atmosphere and everybody who even just tries to sing gets clapped for even if they cannot hold a tune. Plus, if you get tired of the singing, there is always rock-n-bowl right outside the bar which is fun music to listen to. I also like the fact that the pool table is located away from most of the crowd unlike other places where it is a bit hard to play pool without bumping into people. read more

They have a free live stand-up comedy show on Wednesday nights, karaoke on Thursday- Friday and Saturday, pretty much all the sports packages one needs on thirteen flat screens and - on occasion - live music! I came to Ozzie's today for a B2B business lunch for the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce. The service was fantastic the pizza was delicious and it was a great atmosphere for networking events. *UPDATE* - this place recently got pretty sizeable renovation. It's now nearly twice the size and some new signage, more tables, a shuffle board, and fancy lighting. It has a cleaner, more modern look, and now no longer looks like a dive bar. The tables are also more spread apart so it no longer feels too cramped. This place is like a good ol' dive bar, but located in the Fountain Bowl bowling alley. You can either enter the bar directly at the front, or go into the alley and enter the bar through the rear. They have karaoke on fridays and saturday nights. The KJ (Karaoke DJ) is awesome there and he can often be seen singing with other singers or when there is a lull between songs. The crowd tends to be a bit older meaning middle-age and up, but some youngins (twenty somethings) are there too. Either way, the crowd really gets into it and it's a pretty fun atmosphere when the karaoke (and alcohol) is going. Just watching other people sing is pretty entertaining in of itself. I like their enthusiasm and how everyone just cheers each other on. It feels like a 'no judgement' zone. The drinks are quite strong. Most mixed drinks are 5 bucks. The shots there are pretty generous in size and they serve it in a really wide plastic shot cup that must be 3-4 oz in size. Me and my friends never complain about weak drinks here. Granted, the mixed drinks here are mediocre, but at least the alcohol content is on point. Also, the free self-serve popcorn is nice, which I guess is what they have there instead of nuts. Tables and seats are arranged in a seemingly messy random order and feels cramped, especially when near capacity. This can get annoying when you're trying to find a seat or even to get back to your seat. That's my only real complaint. They're currently renovating the place (and they're still open during renovation), supposedly adding dance floor of sorts, so maybe seating will also be improved. read more

What can I say about this place that wouldn't be FIVE STARS? Absolutely nothing. The place itself is comfy, cozy, clean and inviting. The staff friendly and very accommodating, planning a group celebration, talk to the bartenders ahead of time. They'll do everything they can to make your event the best ever! And now for the KJ, who sadly after six long years of being our "hostess with the mostest" has retired. Miss Stephanie's music selection was bar none, and if she didn't have a song you requested, she'd buy it and have it for you at the next show. She brought in a lot of followers so therefore, more often than not, the rotation was longgggg. She ran an honest and fair rotation, there was no bribing her with extra cash in the tip jar like her predecessor. She also knew we were there to sing, and although she has an incredible talent and a voice we should pay to hear, she never put herself in the rotation as some kj's do (a real pet peeve of mine) ...
