Delicious pizza especially I Wanna Be Sedated. Jeez, it's unbelievably good and well worth the wait!

Came to try this place because the pizzas look really good on yelp. We arrived a little after they opened for the day. Got a couple of seats at the bar. My husband and I looked over the menu and then a bartender came over to greet us. My husband ordered a beer and I heard the bartender tell him they carry beer in either a can or a bottle. Anyway we ordered a I wanna be sedated medium pizza and then I ordered a fruity drink. We watched the US vs Paraguay game on the screen at the bar and I watched the UFC freedom 250 press conference that was on at the same time on my phone. We waited about 40 minutes for our pizza. I thought the pizza was ok. Hubby felt it needed more sauce. Service from the bartenders was pretty good and friendly. Loud music played. read more

The pizza is the best out there, This place definitely is reputable for its delicious variations of pizza they offer. Each one's them is fantastic, the bar tenders and bouncers are all really nice and welcoming and set the right vibe for the place. I need to speed through the obvious to get to the main point of this review. The pepperoni pizza is tops; the bar staff friendly; the decor is all kitschy rocker nonsense. Sure, okay, done. Now, what I need to tell all about is the Dirty Donald ride in front of Johnny's Saloon. At some point in his life, Dirty Donald was a regular Donald Duck ride. This Duck probably had a decent part or full time job at Disneyland. That all changed when this Donald grew a mustache, quit his job, and started hanging out in front of saloons. Dirty Donald's popularity probably peaked at Johnny's, which is why he is still there. I do not know whether he offers free rides to the curious female and male clientele, or they ask him. I do know that plenty of photos exist of people sporting ear to ear idiotic grins as they ride Donald's fuzzy bill off into a blue yonder of bliss. This duck never gets tired, and the coin feeder is broken, so everyone rides the duckstache free of charge. How many hearts has Dirty Donald broken? How many innocent paramours has he led down a wild, brush heavy route? The rule of the road is ride or die. Dirty Donald's only rule is ride or sigh. I hope most still choose backache to heartache, and that Donald stays as dirty as the day the mustache arrived. read more

I never understood why people wrote multiple reviews for the same place- but here I am. If I could leave Johnnys a 6th star I would. I've had Johnnys now for a couple months and it's consistently amazing. I learned the dough is fermenting for 3 days before being used and that would totally make sense since I don't feel gross after eating a whole pie to myself! Genuinely the best pizza I've had. If you like dark bars, old fashioneds and pizza this is the spot! I've been coming here for about 15 years and service is always awesome everyone is friendly. You must try the pizza its WORTH the wait! My 2 personal favorites are Mr.Toads wild ride or I wanna be sedated but any pizza you try is delicious! A hidden local gem in HB! Johnny's Saloon serves up great drinks and their pizza is fantastic. The service from the staff is fantastic and they are so friendly. I love the atmosphere when you first walk in and you see all the cool memorabilia on the walls and the dim lighting adds to the overall vibe. They have a pool table that you can use later at night and there's plenty of seating available and at the bar. Drinks here aren't too expensive and they have a pretty good whiskey list. I got several of their old fashioneds and they were strong but good. Their pizza is absolutely underrated and I highly recommend ordering one if you are going with a group! We ordered the Another One Bites the Crust and it was delicious. It's freshly made to order and they pack it with toppings. Just recently discovered Johnnys Saloon in Huntington and have now been a handful of times. It's a hidden gem with lots of Hollywood memorabilia including signage, old photos, movie props and more. The service is always friendly and helpful with recommendations or questions. There's a pool table to play with friends and plenty of bar seating and table tops for eating/drinking. They have plenty of drinks and shots to choose from, decent prices too. If anything, go for the pizza!!! My favorite part about the menu are the names to all the pizzas. I went to Johnny's Saloon because I saw the reviews on Yelp the delicious Pizzas they make. I wanted to test it so I brought my mother with me to try it. The Saloon was hard to find because it was in the corner passed the Chevron gas station right behind the UFC store. When I walk inside the atmosphere seem kind of dark. I was thought it was Halloween theme. I ordered the 5 Topping option called 9-5 with Pineapple, HoneySmoked Canadian Bacon, Jalepeno, Italian Sausage and Pastrami. The kind server Johnny was really nice gave me two glass of water for my and my mother and told us it would be 40-min to an Hour Wait. That has been longest I've waited for a Pizza but it was delicious, No Complaints. Definately go back for the pizza again. It was so big we had the rest of it to go. read more

I'm saddened to say that tonight was the last time I'll visit Johnny's Saloon after a very uncomfortable situation my boyfriend and I had with the owner. To preface, we have been here plenty of times and receive nothing but the best service and amazing pizza. However, after miscommunication with a worker about ordering pizza and redeeming rewards, the owner approached us with hostile and unprofessional behavior. Rather than speaking to us about the situation calmly, he cursed at my boyfriend and berated him. Though we will miss Johnny's Saloon, I am glad that we are able to see the true colors of the owner and how he runs his business. read more

Great service, great drinks but owner ended up cursing at me over a miscommunication. My lady and I come often, came today for drinks. Our waitress asked if we planned on ordering pizza and I said we had to do pickup through text service to redeem my free pizza. She then offered to get it delivered so we didn't have to pick up. Upon arrival, they asked me to pay full price rather than redeeming my free pizza like I originally planned on doing. I explained situation to the waitress and she said her hands were tied. I had to talk to the owner,. He came out and called me "f**cking difficult" and to just "pay the pizza this time" and get it free next time. Was visiting family for the weekend, and this place has been on my list for over a year! We came on a Saturday shortly after they opened and it wasn't very busy. The vibes inside are super cool and unique, they have a lot of artwork and photos and a pool table. They have a big pizza and drink menu, we all needed a minute to decide what we wanted! I got a cocktail and it was really good, the prices of the drinks are good as well, especially compared the the other food places we had gone the two days prior. I ended up getting the Princess pizza, which is like a Margherita style pizza with sauce and cheese. I'm not kidding, this was probably my favorite thing I ate the entire trip, and one of my top favorite pizzas ever now! The sauce was so good, and the dough was perfect as well, the blend of the cheese and spices they use, it was excellent! Apparently their dough takes over 90 hours for it to be ready to use for the pizza, and maybe that adds to the flavor? We all enjoyed our pizza and drinks, and had a fun time here! We also had fun guessing what "secret kitchen" they get the pizza from... I will definitely be back next time I'm in town!! read more

Highly recommend this place! We got 3 schmedium's and it was very easy to order by texting them. We did a scheduled to-go order and they were very prompt with timing, which I love! Set in the corner of a small strip mall, the exterior doesn't prepare you for the feast-for-the-eyes inside! WOW! We had the pleasure of having Jamie serve us; however ALL of the bartenders were impressively friendly and attentive! We visited on a "pizza night". While we prefer the thinner crust, we had to experience their specialty item, ordering 1/2 Cheech n Chong (pepperoni assortment) and 1/2 Let's Dance (veggies). The large pizza, served on a raised serving stand, took up a good portion of our small round table; both were delicious (the pepperoni pizza was especially flavorful!) -- a good pairing! Labeled as a "dive bar" (which has a derogatory connotation)?... then, this is no dive! It's unique, it's lively, it's entertaining, it's fun!! Great drinks, too! On our list of favorite bars! Johnny's is the epitome of a dive bar. The vibe is dark and cozy with random decor ranging from Halloween to Christmas. The pizza is arguably one of the best in HB and the vibes are immaculate. Johnny usually rotates around working and he's never been anything but kind and accommodating. They did a renovation recently and it appears a lot of the staff are new. However the new staff seem much more professional and "there to work" vs vibes from some of the old staff. Went here with a colleague on a Friday night. Came early around 8pm. Luckily we got a seat at the bar. We liked that it was veteran owned and had a great whiskey selection. We are 30 and my buddy was younger. This bar seemed to be on the older crowd but I did see people my age. Nonetheless we felt welcomed. We noticed people were ordering pizza so we decided to get a small one to share considering we just ate kbbq lol. It was great pizza probably the best I've had in a while in California. We will definitely be back for the whiskey and pizza. The crowd seems chill so, we'll try to be more social next time and see what happens. The bar is a bit small, but I love the ambiance and esthetic of the bar and restrooms. Music is good. I gave 4 stars as the parking is difficult and very limited. Johnny's Johnny's Johnny I absolutely love this place. What more can I say? Well, we went for Galentine's night on Valentine's Day and were pleasantly surprised to get an early table near the bar. The four of us knew we were there for pizza and garlic knots but first and foremost came the cocktails. And at Johnny's you can always count on them pouring you a great one! In addition to our rounds of drinks we decided to do a Galentines shot. So of course we ordered up four shots of tequila! 3 Don Julio Silver and 1 Casamigos Repo! This place has it all, the atmosphere is horrifically wonderful, the bathroom plays Willy Wonka and the haunted mansion and it's just absolutely the best dive bar in town. By the time the pizza and knots arrived we were starving. We got the toad which is mostly meats and a vegetarian and I forgot the name lol. If you want to have a good time, a good drink and a good pizza, you have to hit up Johnny's! Jamie and Mondo are the best. But on the downside, you're gonna have to wait a month because after Valentine's Day they shut their doors for a remodel. But I will be back in March. read more

This diamond in the rough is hidden in the corner of a strip mall in Huntington Beach off of Beach Blvd. I can only describe this unique gem as a punk rock Disneyland on acid. There are things to look at everywhere you go. The Bartenders are friendly and have a heavy pour. The cherry on top is they have some of the best pizza I've ever had. My favorite is the " I want to be sedated". I know other pizzas are good, but I cannot get away from this one it's so delicious. I'm told It's a Croatian style pizza.
