Yooooooo this spicy hummus!!!! I ordered online and basically used my side salad as a lettuce base and dumped my chicken shawarma alllll over it and drizzle spicy hummus. This was a dream! A tasty, local Middle Eastern restaurant. I've been to Ozzy's several times, all for dinner even though they have a lunch buffet. On my first visit I randomly ordered the Moe's Special, and ever since, that has become my go-to dish from Ozzy's. The chicken has a wonderful lemon & garlic flavor to it and the rice it is served with is for real. I could eat that rice all the time. The Lebanese salad is fine, even though I would prefer some feta on it -- but in fairness, most things would be better with feta on it. I would pass on the Lentil soup, it's just OK. The hummus is fantastic, as are some of the other "dips." I've ordered for takeout on numerous occasions and they've always been consistent, tasty, courteous, and prompt. Ozzy's by no means reinvents Middle Eastern cuisine, but if you are looking for comfortable, safe, Middle Eastern food that is well executed, Ozzy's delivers. read more

Ozzy's got my vote. We tried a bit of everything - kibbe, falafel, grape leaves, meat pie & chicken kabob wrap. And it was all delicious! The dishes were al seasoned perfectly. One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have been to. Prior to covid, I used to go here once if not twice a week. I have still been making it to the restaurant fairly regularly. I think there is something for everyone here. A lot of the non-cultured people can get the meat kabobs and rice to at least get an introduction to Mediterranean food. A lot of the more cultured people may go with lamb, hummus, falafel, kibbeh, lentil soup, mujadara, shawarma, or other delicious Mediterranean cuisine. I think everything here is flavorful. My preference is kibbeh, garlic hummus, beef/chicken kabobs, lentil soup, and/or Ozzys kabob (Kofta). It is family owned and all made there which I think makes a noticeable difference. If I'm being completely honest, I do prefer shawarma from the other Mediterranean restaurant in greater Lansing area but everything else is better here for sure. This is a new place for us. We stopped on a whim -- we had planned to eat at State Side Deli, but didn't realize they close at 4:00! But I'm glad we ate here instead -- I think we got a healthier meal out of our mistake. My one complaint is about the lentil soup. This was warm, but could have been warmer. It was more lemony than I'm used to, but it tasted good. We ordered the vegetarian combo for 2 and it was plenty of food to eat. I also had a mango smoothie that was yummy. The requisite hummus and pita bread was served as well. I recommend this place -- the staff is friendly and extremely attentive! What I realized yesterday is that there is not a lot of middle eastern food places open on a Sunday. Thank goodness I yelped and found this place not too far from where I was. I was REALLY craving for kibbee and this place had the solution. Tucked inside a strip mall, this place is pretty much what you would expect from a middle eastern restaurant. Clean place and polite staff. Standard menu and even a buffet. I grabbed a couple sandwiches to go so I can't say much about the sit down dining experience. Two chicken shawarma and a kibbee sandwich came to about $17 bucks so about $5 to $6 each. Food was flavorful and everything seemed fresh. Not a lot of fancy words to say about a sandwich. much like the insane tap lists here in michigan, i cannot get over the ridiculous number of awesome lebanese restaurants. i really should not be surprised because a) i am lebanese and b) i know that detroit has the largest middle eastern population outside of the middle east. but i am in shock in the best way possible, probably because i went so long being deprived of regular access to above mediocre hummus and non smushy falafel. we had a going away lunch a few days ago at work and went to a place i had never heard of called ozzy's kabob. although my coworkers laughed at me for taking pictures of my food while regaling me with stories of getting hit on and/or proposed to by clients, i had to. it was ridiculous! i knew you guys needed to see this to believe it. ok so this place takes it a step further than just insanely amazing and comprehensive lebanese food (they had kusa!!!). they have a $7.99 lunch buffet. yes. you read that right. all you can eat competely off the hook baba ghannouj and shawarma (with garlic sauce!) and cucumber and tomato salad. i mean come on! i tried to eat a lot but i could only get through two courses. i need to go back. unfortunately they don't have the buffet at dinner but i am sure i can make do. service was good and the price was clearly right. go. now. read more

Good food; fabulous baklava! I recently visited Lansing for the first time, and my friend took me here for dinner. We had the grape leaf dolmas for an appetizer. They are served fresh and warm. The rice stuffing is deliciously seasoned, and the dolmas are not at all vinegary. The pickled beets in my generously proportioned falafel sandwich added a nice crunch to this well made Mediterranean staple. My five stars, however, are for the fabulous, free bite-size pieces of baklava that we were given for dessert. This is absolutely the best baklava I have ever had: exquisitely spiced filling, just enough softness and sweetness without the syrup running all over the place, and perfect, flaky philo dough. Service was good, and the decor comfortable and charming. The next time I am in Lansing I will definitely be making a stop at Ozzy's! read more

This is my favorite Mediterranean place in the area. I try to get over here every time I am able to take a long lunch and notice the Hooked deal for their buffet and I have never been disappointed. They always keep it stocked with a large variety of delicious and fresh items and the service is always delightful. I have never tried something from here that I haven't enjoyed and the fresh falafel and Mediterranean chicken is among the best I've tasted. I have also had the iced teas a few times and found them to be very quenching and perfectly sweet, which complimented the meal nicely. I have always considered this restaurant to be a hidden gem in this area, and it is not unreasonably far from MSU. Would recommend to any fan of cheap and good food! read more

Had about the best middle eastern food I've had in a long time here today. Not only delicious but reasonable- $10.99 for their weekend buffet that is available most of the day. Every bite was tasty! The salads were fresh and beautifully dressed- just enough lemon, which I love! The friendly waiter said the weekday lunch buffet is only $8.99. Happened to be staying at a hotel nearby. Dropped in to order carryout. Great staff, and could not have been happier with the lamb kabobs. The real star though was the spicy hummus. Second year in a row we stopped into this place for dinner on our trek 'up north'. Food is fresh and good. Although we were hungry, we decided to only get the 'sandwiches' (back of the menu) in lieu of entrees and augment it with a large hummus appetizer. I had never been to this restaurant before. Went here one evening because I was craving a chicken shawarma and it was the closest location to my home. I ordered 2 chicken shawarma sandwiches and they were the most disgusting shawarmas I have ever had. Being from the Metro Detroit area, there are some very good spots back home (Dearborn,Southfield). The chicken had a burnt taste to it and the sandwich barely had any garlic spread on it. The lettuce tasted old as if it had been in the fridge for weeks. I don't write very many yelp reviews. So when I do it's only because something changed my life which is the case with the crispy eggplant from Ozzy's Kabob. It is the most delicious food I have ever eaten in my life. I was only in Michigan for 24 hours on business and I came here for an early dinner through a yelp search. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I thought I'd get both gyro meat on rice and crispy eggplant and have leftovers to bring back to my hotel for later. None of it made it back with me because it was so good I just had to keep eating. Both the gyro and the eggplant were spectacular but I had to come back as soon as they opened to get more eggplant because I couldn't stop thinking about it. Stopped here on a whim for lunch with some friends. The lunch buffet is reasonably priced at $7.99. I tried the felafel, boneless chicken, rice and the hummus. The felafel was fresh outta the frier and delicious...crispy and flavorful! Everything else was good. Nice variety of food and flavors available. I stuck with my go-to and was not disappointed.
