Saw this place of Social Media and it looked good so I had to stop in! Very nice and spacious place and aesthetically pleasing. Really like the market side of the restaurant. The service was amazing. My guy Cass was great! I got three sandwiches: The Chopped Cheese - I really like this one just like a burger of a hogie. The Italian sandwich which is my favorite of the three Meatball sandwich was okay. For me either the sauce or the meatball was a bit too seasoned. I had to drink something after eating eat. The chicken salad was just okay for me Overall good spot to try out!!

Nice addition to downtown west. This is a bodega style market serving breakfast and lunch. We went for a quick breakfast before heading to Mizzou for a basketball game. The breakfast sandwich on the biscuit was delicious. The biscuit was great but very crumbly. I'll get it on the bun next time. The coffee was good. The service was friendly and quick. I love the green decor! We'll be back!

The market area!

I test new to me eateries by ordering biscuits and gravy! I ordered the mushroom and gravy biscuit. Oh my, talk about a delicious drop style biscuit and creamy mushroom gravy! The service was prompt and friendly! The space is large with a family dining room ambiance. Friendly conversation and music at the right level. I plan on bringing my granddaughters when the weather gets warmer, before it becomes a *cafe and bar This place has a market! * I read on NPR this afternoon that this place will be serving alcoholic beverages in the near future.

2 chopped cheeses, coleslaw, and potato salad. 10/10!

Veggie Meatball Sandwich: The lentil-based meatballs are similar to the Veggie Burger, well seasoned and paired with a complementary tomato sauce.

After making a reservation, I heard on social media that this place may be closing soon, but there…read morewas no indication of that on the restaurant's website or in-house. We arrived right on time for our reservation, stood for quite a few minutes in a half-empty house before being seated, then waited a very long time between visits from our apparently over-stretched waitstaff. The first cocktail I chose wasn't available; nor was the first entree. I settled on the "red wine flight", and it arrived in three glasses. The server recited their names, but I didn't catch them. Food was middle of the road. A smoked sirloin sandwich was tasty, though rather well-done. And the order of "salmon cakes", which the menu says is made of "smoked salmon, roast corn, tomato, cucumber, creme fraiche, and capers" was in fact just one cake (not cakes!), smaller than a hockey puck (about 1/2" thick max) and seemed to be made of canned fish, not the bright orange of smoked salmon. It was accompanied by five thin slices of cucumber and three or four halved grape tomatoes. No corn, no capers. It was so boring, and an overpriced disappointment at $23. If this Bridge is actually closing and focusing on the event space, they've gone out with a whimper. And if they're actually continuing service, I hope they get the food a little closer to the menu descriptions. Our drinks and water glasses were empty for long stretches. Our server was very pleasant and polite, but must've had way too much to do.

The seating was upstairs. It was very dark. Hard to read the menu without a flashlight from the…read morephone. The service was great. Attentive wait staff. The food- 3 of 4 of us said it was just ok. The other really liked theirs. We had 2 different pastas & 2 different sandwiches. Calabrian carbonara & citrus fettuccine. They were both kinda bland & not much flavor. Large portions. Wagyu reuben & smoked french. The reuben was a hit. The smoked french was too smoky. We had the pumpkin ricotta appetizer. It was pretty tasty. And the caesar was a large portion & decent flavor.

On Thursdays, the St. Louis Room (6th Floor) at the downtown STL Macy's serves the best fried…read morechicken anywhere. I'm a huge fried chicken fan and I've been to them all - Porter's, King Edwards, Hodaks, Kentucky Fried, Churchs, Gallagher's across the river. Every time I visit a new area, I look for the used book stores and the chicken restaurants. The pieces here at the St. Louis Room are huge and meaty. Perfectly done and juicy - I have never gotten an over- or underdone piece. The skin is crispy and crackly. Not much seasoning at all, so you can taste the chicken. The restaurant is on the 6th Floor and it is an all-you-can-eat buffet, but you can also get the chicken plated in the 2nd floor restaurant. Along with the fried chicken are two surprisingly good and large buffet tables. On the hot foods buffet: mashed potatoes (instant - ugh! - substitute a yummy baked potato instead, found on the end of the buffet), a creamy gravy with a touch of what tastes like nutmeg (weird, but it *works*), two soups (their famous French onion soup is also available - request it from your waitress), spaghetti, cornbread and greens. Also on the hot foods buffet is a taco / baked potato bar. On the salad buffet is a wide assortment of fresh veggies to help you compensate for your guilt in overeating that fried chicken! There's a small selection of desserts, and you can request their fabulous bread pudding from the waitress - it tastes exactly like my great-grandma used to make back in the day. Service is always good and extremely friendly. Most of the waitresses have been there for *years* - I always sat in the wait area of Ms. Mildred for 20+ years, until she passed away recently, and you'll often see people waiting for a table to be cleared in "their" waitress's area. There are two lines for checking out - one line takes cash or credit, the other line takes cash only. I recommend you bring cash to get out quicker because the credit line takes much longer. Everything is available for take-out as well. My only complaint is that they sometimes temporarily run out of chicken due to the high volume of customers. It only takes a couple of minutes before they bring out fresh trays, and then you'll see the waiting crowd fall on them like starving birdies on a winter's day will fall on bread crumbs. The cost for this never-ending feast of fabulous fried chicken is $9.00: drink, dessert and tax included.

If you're in downtown St. Louis and craving something quick, creative, and seriously satisfying,…read moreSauce on the Side is a must-visit. Worth the wait! It has been packed with VEX Worlds. I ended up going two nights in a row, which should tell you everything you need to know. Night 1: The Fatty B This one lives up to its name--in the best way possible. Packed with flavor and perfectly balanced between savory and indulgent, every bite felt like comfort food done right. The crust was golden and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and held everything together without falling apart. It's rich, so come hungry. Night 2: Meat Me in St. Louis Had to come back and try one of their signature options, and it did not disappoint. Loaded with meats but not overwhelming, and the flavors all complemented each other really well. It's hearty, bold, and exactly what you'd expect from something with a name like that. What really stood out both nights was the consistency--fresh ingredients, quick service, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it an easy go-to spot whether you're grabbing dinner solo or with a group of hungry robotics kids. Pro tip: Don't skip the dipping sauces--they take everything up another level. Two nights, two wins. I'd absolutely go back again.
